South East Londoner's Christmas Curry Meet-up

All welcome - the usual suspects plus any newbies lurking in the wings! I thought a nice ruby out with the girls to mull over the Christmas shopping we'll all be doing by then would be a great idea.

So, how does Wednesday 14 or Monday 19 December sound? Can't do weekends in December what the social life of my 6 year old DD plus other Christmas festivities already planned.

Is there a nice curry house in Blackheath or Greenwich which would be pretty central?

So post if you want to come and give us a recommendation for a venue.

How about Curry Garden in Blackheath - anyone been there before? Central kind of area I thought...

Well - we're going to get delivery from Everest Inn tonight so I'll tell you how it is... Our little guy DID end up with chicken pox - we just saw the spots start last night. sigh However, curry garden sounds good too - whatever you think.

Dropinthecauldron · 17/10/2005 08:36

coldtea suggested the Ali Gor in Bexleyheath if not Blackheath-says its very nice.

jenweber630 · 17/10/2005 18:50

I give the Everest Inn a thumbs up - but bexleyheath is good too. Whatever everyone would like.

KBear · 17/10/2005 19:17

Bexleyheath suits me better personally (only draw back is I won't need to drive so might get drunk and outrageous!). but depends on everyone else. Maybe too far for the Greenwich gals and Norash is even further (Norash are you coming?).

Dropinthecauldron · 18/10/2005 18:28

I'm with Bexleyheath-think we may need a vote on this one!! Michelle will be Bexleyheath too-(has emailed me via a 3rd party as meeting up on Friday to visit e-bay friend-she is not able to access mumsnet at the mo-poor love-can't think what else she could find to do instead!!)

KBear · 18/10/2005 18:45

Her house is probably sparkling and her ironing is done!

So those in favour of Bexleyheath say aye.

Kbear - aye

I think it would be a good idea to make our arrangements offline. If each of you CAT me if you're definitely coming I will sent a round-robin email nearer the the time to arrange a meeting place (for those coming on their own that haven't been to previous meets).

Anyone not on the list is welcome. Just CAT me.

Micku5 · 18/10/2005 18:51

Just sent a CAT to you. If you didn't get it please let me know and i'll let you know my email address.

Dropinthecauldron · 18/10/2005 20:07

Aye! Hick¬! Aye!

jenweber630 · 22/10/2005 00:20

Oh poo - well, aye, and I'll limit myself to one drink so I can get myself back home.

tigermoth · 22/10/2005 07:36

will CAT you kbear!

KBear · 22/10/2005 08:58

Jen - I have a very reliable female cab driver that I always use that I could book for you on the night so you get home with no problem if you like (and to share with anyone else going your way).

Anyone else going to CAT me with their email address so we can arrange this off-air so to speak!?

Prettyfull · 25/10/2005 12:46

Hi, i havnt meet anyone from here before...but a curry sounds GREAT!! Is this still going ahead?

jenweber630 · 25/10/2005 16:26

If someone in Blackheath/Greenwich wants to share a car hire, I'd love to have a few drinks but if there's no one to share, I'll just have one and go home sober. So let me know if anyone wants to do this with me!

KBear · 03/11/2005 12:00

New list - CAT me if you're coming and I'll email round nearer the time with the arrangements.

KBear · 04/11/2005 19:10

Hi TandBump - whereabouts are you? Welcome. We're meeting for coffee on Monday 14 Nov in Bexleyheath if you want to come along and meet the others.

TandBump · 06/11/2005 22:34

Hi, I have a 6 week old and am based in Barnehurst, almost Bexleyheath for those not in the know
I would love to come on 14 November - is it an evening thing? or a lunchtime - do people bring the little ones or do I need to find a babysitter- I only moved to the area in August last year so dont know many/any people.
xx

TandBump · 06/11/2005 22:35

KBear, did you get my CAT?

jenweber630 · 07/11/2005 10:31

Oh yes - we bring the little ones to our daytime get-togethers- no way you're leaving your 6 week old at home - we love cooing over little babies! However, I am getting my hubby to watch ds for the curry night...

TandBump · 07/11/2005 18:23

I took him into BHS today, one of the lifts is broken but the cafe looked fab for buggies - agree with KBear loads better than Starbucks which fills up so fast with just one or two buggies. I have a fab buggies which doesnt turn unless you pick up the back two wheels - so I will be easy to spot negotiating the aisles!
I shall come with the little one, screaming or not then - and shall dress him up in his little party outfit...

bran · 09/11/2005 20:46

I'm definitely not coming to this I'm afraid. We are off to MIL's for Christmas [long-suffering sigh] so we will have already left the UK before the dinner. I hope you all have a good time.

jenweber630 · 10/11/2005 21:21

LOL Tandbump! Will be on the look out for that lovely buggy. Sorry to hear Bran - I know you were hoping to hop over the sea instead of across the a few continents - just make sure Georgie gets his own seat!!!!!

See you all on Monday...
