It is time to gather the troops :) All are welcome, newbies, lurkers, usual Durham thread rabble and anybody else out there.

First up a vote on the date:

4th December

Kara
Indith
Juney
Frozen

11th December

Leggy
Indith
Juney
Frozen

Small babies welcome. We all know how much you can long for a meal out yet be unable to bring yourself to leave the baby so as long as you are happy to bring them, we are happy to have them.

Please suggest places to go for a nice drink or 2 (cocktails anyone?) and a meal. The date which most people can make will be booked.

"Yes yes, nice and smart and dressy "
Ooops will have to try harder this time.

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 28/10/2010 08:35

It wouldn't come up at first, refreshed a few times and and then I could see the group!

I have now posted.

Osbega - send me a PM on FB with your address and postcode so I can find you - I will be borrowing DH's sat nav, as well as his car (it's a fully expensed company car unlike mine so please don't worry about petrol money!).

Curiousmama · 28/10/2010 08:53

popsycal I see you lurking [hwink] Get yourself on that list [hgrin]

OsbegaEthewulf · 28/10/2010 11:37

Deadbody; Just need a lift back- no probs with getting there.

How will I know you all though- would be terrible if I latched on some other group and they were too embarrased to tell me to bugger off!

"nice and smart and dressy eh"? Does this mean I have to comb my hair

Eleison · 28/10/2010 12:03

Hullo,

Indith very kindly mentioned this thread to me. I think I know some of you (used to be Threadworm) and I live in Durham. I would like to think of coming, but wouldn't want to come if I would be the only oldie (forties)Grin

Indith · 28/10/2010 12:15

Curious and Osbega claim to be old so you'll have company Wink

Curiousmama · 28/10/2010 16:43

And we can swap knitting patterns! [hgrin]

Indith · 28/10/2010 16:56

important

The Fat Buddha is completely booked up every weekend in December.

I have booked The Capital. For those who do not know it, it is a very good Indian on Claypath. The table is booked for 8.30.

If anyone is not happy with that, has a serious dislike of Indian etc. then let me know, make a suggestion and I will happily book something else, I just thought it would be best to get a booking in, we can always cancel it.

so Saturday 4th Dec at The Capital at 8.30 with drinks from 7.30 in Ebony

FrozenNorth · 28/10/2010 17:12

Capital is fine with me. As long as nobody laughs at me for ordering wimpy curry! Thank you for doing that for us Indith :)

juneybean · 28/10/2010 17:14

Oooo that's fine, the Capital have been very good for us in the past! Very welcoming of the tots too Grin

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 28/10/2010 18:11

Yes deffo!! I like the Capital!

Osbega - I just replied to your message, I can pick you up earlier if you want to go for drinks at Ebony - don't mind, they have nice non alky cocktails for the non drinkers!

DeadBodyofKaraStarbuckThrace · 28/10/2010 18:19

Wait ignore tha, have messaged my friend M and thought I better check what she wants to do as she may not want to take a teeny newborn to Ebony - just thinking it will be very crowded and noisy.
I'll let you know!

Curiousmama · 28/10/2010 20:23

thanks for update not sure where ebony is but I'll find it.

Curiousmama · 28/10/2010 20:34

now I know it next to Gala.

OsbegaEthewulf · 28/10/2010 20:37

Eleison I will be 47 next wednesday (shameless plug) so will prob. be the oldest! Listen out for the creak of the tena lady and whisky fumes and there I'll be :)

OsbegaEthewulf · 28/10/2010 20:39

Capital is fab and I have no idea where Ebony but yes please to a pre prandial drink

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 28/10/2010 20:42

Hi everyone
Thanks for reminder Indith, sorry for dithering, not sure if I am up for leaving DD at bedtime yet :( I know...pathetic. I will think and talk to DH and get back to you - I know you've booked so if I decide to come I will ring up and amend the booking.

Indith · 28/10/2010 20:48

Not pathetic SPB! I didn't leave dd for bedtime until much later and even leaving her for the evening after putting her to bed did not go down all to well with her. Entirely up to you.

OP posts:
SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 28/10/2010 20:49

I think your DD was DD's age when you left her for that meal out - I think it was February last year?? I am just a wimp :o I will see what DH says - if he says "oh no problem" I might start to think it will be OK. Just can't bear to think of her crying for me.

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 28/10/2010 20:54

Just giving you all a wave... am another meet-up newbie, I see you have settled on 4th Dec which means I won't be able to join you this time, but maybe another time! Have fun though!
