Small babies welcome. We all know how much you can long for a meal out yet be unable to bring yourself to leave the baby so as long as you are happy to bring them, we are happy to have them.

Please suggest places to go for a nice drink or 2 (cocktails anyone?) and a meal. The date which most people can make will be booked.

Juney- put something on Fb for you. IF it doesn't improve by Sat then I might not make it I couldn't get my car out this morning and we'd parked on the main road rather than round the back. If we did lunch instead I could only do after 2ish as DP is duty manager on Saturday and doesn't finish til 1pm.

Will check the latest forecasts for the weekend tomorrow evening but if there isn't some drastic improvement I think we'll have to cancel and do it in January instead. I just don't think it is worth the risk, even if we do make it in the roads will be so dangerous late at night heading home as the temperature drops.

Well there is a blizzard outside my window, snow has been piling up all day even though the weather warning was less severe for today and the met office pretty maps have gone form being nice and green for Fri/Sat to being rather yellow. I know several of you are having trouble getting around too.

I'm afraid I'm going ot go ahead and cancel the booking. With various people getting in from quite far outside Durham it just isn't worth it. After Christmas I'll come and bully you all again and we'll get something sorted for Jan/Feb time ok?

Oh I've just found this thread....didn't know there was one for Meet Ups (thick, I know!). Saw it on Active and got all excited thinking we were arranging last minute things for our nightout and it's been cancelled

Yeah sorry Durham , gutted but the weather is being far too unpredictable and can't really leave it to the eleventh hour to cancel with so many people to contact.

Feel like ranting and raving though, these meet ups are the only bloody social life I get. Last time I got out was in September.

Indith, meet ups are my social life (apart from 1 night when the lovely juney helped out with a bit of babysitting) We'll have to have lots before May when I am held captive blessed by a new small bundle.

Kara - bet you've had a huge smile on your face today. I was convinced that there would be nothing there at mine and they'd tell me it was all the chocolate I've been eating. I have to get a calendar out when asked how far along I am- I just can't remember!

Spiggy - when I went in there was still an element of doubt, even though had a scan 3 weeks ago :)

It is bloody shite out there and I suddenly look 85 after being housebound nearly all week with squawking offspring. Considering they have hardly moved the amount of food they are demanding is ridiculous! Like Basil Fawlty and his deceased guest I am dropping tasty morsels down their gullets in between breaths.

Just remembered I was going into Durham tomorrow for the christmas market and very much looking forward to it and I can't now.

Probably for the best though. I got stuck on the drive today attempting to get to work - DH was not pleased.

Hopefully the snow will have gone by January - although I can imagine the pile in our back garden could still be around .

Oh arses Osbega I forgot it was Christmas Market weekend. Dh has today off work and we have an appointment to sign our new wills so was going to head into town at the same time as need to do some other things. I hate the Christmas Market, I hate crowds and I just find it really depressing squeezing through teh crowded tent trying to look at stalls but failing miserably as you get swept along by the tide of people all bradishing money to buy overpriced tatt.

I made noises about Indian too. The Capital do takeaway an dh is going ot be in town this evening to do some jobs at the boat club. He offered to bring me back fish and chips .
