Small babies welcome. We all know how much you can long for a meal out yet be unable to bring yourself to leave the baby so as long as you are happy to bring them, we are happy to have them.

Please suggest places to go for a nice drink or 2 (cocktails anyone?) and a meal. The date which most people can make will be booked.

Only one of your breasts? So will she be attached to the other one FrozenNorth Grin

Going to be bad all this week! Apparently A19 was shut yesterday between A1018 and A690 Shock

Indith · 28/11/2010 09:58

Eek. We manage better than most I think by being onthe main road through the village so don't end up stuck at the back of a housing estate. What is it like around you then Frozen? I'll be driving I think so could come and pick you up unless you think I'd get stuck! (I don't like driving at the best of times so in snow I do not go places I may not get out of!)

Frozen - blame whoever set an essay on Freud. It's a carte blanche for nonsense IMHO.

Like Indith I'm glad I'm just off a main road, and in a flat part of town at that. If I still lived on New Street behind the bus station I wouldn't leave the house all week!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 28/11/2010 13:07

Osbega - I am still happy to pick you up from home as well as take you back afterwards?

stickylittlefingers · 29/11/2010 14:38

hi - hope you're all OK with all this snow... I'm at home cos the school closed and DP had things he had to be physically present at, so I'm MNing working from home with the dds here too. Always interesting! They[re being ver good infact, tho probably I will change my tune when I discover what they've actually been doing upstairs...

Anyway, happy snowballing! :)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 30/11/2010 15:24

We're coping, did have to dig my car out to get DS to preschool - the snow had all slid off the garage on to the car!

DH got to work okay as well (he works in Sheffield).

4 days to go!!!

Have definitely decided with the leggings and boots option too cold for tights!

Indith · 30/11/2010 15:53

Not long! Can't wait. Didn't bother to take ds to nursery today

I had quite a bit of work on so I didn't really have much of a choice! Got the shopping done as well.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/12/2010 08:46

DH working from home again - the main road to his work is shut!!
He got a phone call last night from one of his colleagues saying that they've stopped all wagon movements to and from the site as the road is treacherous, he rang our mate who lives up the road from where DH works and he said "don't bother the A57 is shut!!"

Indith · 01/12/2010 09:14

Dh working form home again too. I'm going to get the bus to town today for a change of scenery before I murder the dcs. Few bits of shopping that need doing, warm up over lunch in a cafe then home again.

Sounds like a plan Indith! I got out yesterday but it's coming down again so I'm stopping in!

Wish I'd gone to Asda last night whilst I was out ...fail!

Indith · 01/12/2010 13:05

Bah. I decided against it as was snowing, don't think even our lovely little rural bus is running which is a big Shock as they are great, it is completely mental.

Fortunately I did my shopping yesterday. However DH is still insistent on going to Aldi as apparently we have a lack of different types of cereal Hmm

BTW the supply chain to the supermarkets is shot, so you may find a lot of supermarkets haven't had delivery. The factory where my husband works is closed completely - they supply chilled foods to Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and the Co-op!

Indith · 01/12/2010 13:25

Just milk and veg top ups that we need, we get a monthly delivery of all the tinned and dry stuff which thankfully came last wednesday jsut before it all kicked off. I make all our bread and we actually have a good supply of UHT milk as we make yoghurt too.

juneybean · 01/12/2010 13:48

Thankfully we live next to the Asda distribution centre so our Asda is doing Ok delivery wise for now but it's GETTING to the Asda that's the problem for me now...car is buried again!

Chocaholica · 01/12/2010 13:55

I am being a real Grinch here, but I am SICK of the snow.

Toddler will play outside for about 15 minutes, then gets too cold and wants to come back indoors bringing with her half the neighbourhood children.

Can't go anywhere as buses not running and also pram can't be pushed. Sling an option but it's slippy and don't want to fall over with baby attached.

We need a virtual cake meet-up.... where we sit on here, eat cake and moan....

juneybean · 01/12/2010 14:00

I need cake first I'm going to brave a walk to the local shop in a bit see what I can pick up haha

Chocaholica · 01/12/2010 14:09

Luckily, being housebound with baking-loving toddler means we have LOTS of cakes...

.... some are too lurid to try (blue icing) but the choc cupcakes with choc buttercream icing are pretty good...

juneybean · 01/12/2010 14:45

Mmm I will virtually then very soon then! Xmas Grin

juneybean · 01/12/2010 14:45

then = there!

Chocaholica · 01/12/2010 14:57

Are you all going to make it out on Saturday? I am imagining you all all glammed up but in wellies to wade through the snow...

juneybean · 01/12/2010 15:18

I need to check with Spiggy as she's driving! But intending to go to Brantano to get some wellies haha

Indith · 01/12/2010 15:27

Well I have cake so I'll join in the virtual cake eating!

I'm not sure about Saturday. We'll have to keep a good eye on teh forecast. Trouble is that even if the roads are ok to get there they will be sheets of ice to drive home. Wait and see I think. Unless we try to change it to a lunch?

OP posts:
Indith · 01/12/2010 15:33

Well the bbc news says fine Friday and then light snow showers Saturday which doesn't sound too bad but then it also says today is "light snow" and I've never seen as much snow come down all at once in my life (with the possible exception of when I lived in Moscow).

Will just have to wait and see :( I won't be able to do a lunchtime meet!
Assuming I am going, I will definitely be parking in Prince Bishops.

Really hope we don't have to cancel - bloody weather!

Plus feeling ill again :(
