As promised here I am starting the new thread about the next meet up.

It was great to meet up today, Claireandrich, Mocha, Ronniebaby and me plus our offspring, and I think we can all heartily recommend Markeaton Park as a day out.

So if we are to get together again before the end of the School hols and to try to fit in with everyones free time (and especially if I can remember that I DO actually work part time!!!) then here goes with my free dates for August:

Mon 4th
Tues 5th
Mon 11th
Tues 12th
Mon 18th
Tues 19th

Then we run into the Bank holiday, but I can do the Tuesday of that week. I can also do Friday afternoons at the moment but not before 1.30 pm.

How about you lot - and anyone else in the area??

Hi there, I t was good meeting you all and putting faces to the names. DD fell asleep in the car and slept until approx 4.30pm.
Of the dates given the only week we can't do is the week of the 11th. (May be going to Devon as it is FILs 60th birthday)

Ronniebaby · 22/07/2003 22:26

Hiya Girlies

DS and myself really enjoyed our trip out today, it was great meeting WM & CNR, they kids were great, WM your DS was so well behaved, he is a credit to you. Can't wait for the next one, and we'll spend longer next time.

Dates:
I can do most tuesdays and thursdays, except for the 5th Aug.

DS came home and told DH all about the train ride and in the water or not as the case may be. As discussed we'll find a place were we can really picnic and I'll bring the Table/Chairs/umbrel too!

Anyone lese reading this thread, join us it was really great meeting new mums, and kiddies, we all bounced things off each other and had our little groans about DS/DD/DH's too . ACE

See you gals soon. Mocha I'll text you soon about a meet up too.

Claireandrich · 23/07/2003 21:44

Just posted on other thread to say we had a fab time too.

So, when am I free...

We go on holiday on 16th August for two weeks so end of August is out for me.

I can do:

4th or 5th August
11th or 12th August

Claireandrich · 23/07/2003 21:45

So, looks like from above the best date so far is the 12th?

Mocha · 23/07/2003 21:59

I will definitely be away that week

Ronniebaby · 23/07/2003 22:24

I can do the 12th Aug defo

Claireandrich · 24/07/2003 13:18

The move is off again this weekend - just found out. Don't know full reasons yet or even when we can move. Just feel really sick and like crying right now Oh well, I guess another week won't make much difference after 11 months!

Mocha · 24/07/2003 17:18

Sorry to hear that the move is off. Have a big glass of wine and chill out for a bit. Hope it goes ahead soon

Ronniebaby · 24/07/2003 18:15

CNR - Sorry to hear that, it must be really frustrating for you, if you need to chat I'll see you on MSN and I'll give you my moby, I know what's it's like, I had to live with the outlaws for 8 weeks, altho it was only meant to be 4, but they were very good and it wasn't too painful, nbut it was annoying, hearing every week, no, you can't move yet. Catch you soon

WedgiesMum · 25/07/2003 13:36

Sorry it's taken me until today to get it together - DD came down with Chicken Pox Wed pm so be warned ladies!!!! Aaargh!!!!!! More spots!

Ronniebaby, you've just made me cry in the office with your lovely thoughts about DS. It's especially apt because we've been getting feedback from nursery recently about how naughty and stroppy he's being, and of course that makes me feel like it's entirely MY fault....and having the pox stress continuing doesn't help either!Thank you so much, it means such a lot to hear it.

CnR I posted elsewhere about the move thing but again here more sympathy. What a complete ball ache.....

It looks like the next meet up could be:

  1. 12th without Mocha ( )

  2. End of Aug without CnR (again )

  3. Some time in Sept that is convenient for us all ( )

  4. All 3????

What do you guys think?? and picnic-ing is always popular in our house - I can bring some extra chairs for little bottoms, and big bottoms if it comes to that!

Hope you are all well, and for anyone else interested in coming along PLEASE DO!

Love WM XXXX

Obviously don't mean I could bring big bottoms (although I could give it a go!!)

Hi again! Quickie update - move may be okay for early next week. Spent all day trying to sort it.

I am up for any meet-up we arrange, so long as (a) I am not moving that day or (b) am I not on holiday

Wedgiesmum - I can't believe that about your DS; he has been so lovely on the two times we have net him. Maybe he is ready for that jump to school and more challenge in the day. I think you mentioned that before didn't you?

WedgiesMum · 25/07/2003 21:56

Thanks CnR - another message that had me bawling - guess I'm a bit hormonal at the moment as well so blaming myself for being a terrible parent ....

Good news about the house. I'm keeping everything crossed for you - let us know how it goes!

OP posts:
Ronniebaby · 27/07/2003 20:43

As I said ladies, I can do any tues or thurs except 5th August, and 7th. We'll do all 3 dates not a problem. Just let me know.

WM I really thought both your children were thoroughly lovely, DD was soo cute and DS was well behaved. I have a group of mums I meet when DS was a baby and some of their kids are REAL horrors, yours are really a credit to you.

CNR hope the moves finally goes thru.

Ronniebaby · 27/07/2003 20:45

Also I have 4 chairs and my picnic table+umbrella

Claireandrich · 27/07/2003 20:47

Providing move happens this week - fingers and toes crossed now - I can do 12th.

Can do time in September too but back at work so only available on Monday afternoons or anytime on Fridays then.

WedgiesMum · 27/07/2003 20:59

Well shall we say the 12th and then one towards the end of Aug so CnR and Mocha can both get to one in Aug then we'll sort out Sept after that??

OP posts:
Claireandrich · 27/07/2003 21:30

12th is good for me. At Markeaten again as it was a great park for the kiddies? Roughly the same time, with picnics?

WedgiesMum · 27/07/2003 21:35

Fine for me - any of the others that couldn't make it last time (Sue W, Easy, XAusted I think????).

OP posts:
SueW · 27/07/2003 22:21

I've put 12th down on my calendar - we don't have any alternative arrangements although as we are awaiting hospital appointment that could change.

Hope to see you there. I was delighted you all had a good time last time as we have had some excellent days out there. Did you get to look at the Craft Village or go in the paddling pool?

Claireandrich · 27/07/2003 22:29

Glad to hear you will be coming too Sue W. We did hit the paddling pool - 15mo DD quite literally headfirst in her nappy. We went on the steam train too, and to the swings. The boys went on the electric bikes as well. It was a lovely day, the weather stayed fine for us.

Hopefully we can do a proper planned picnic next time too.

Ronniebaby · 28/07/2003 22:42

Fine with me, was it 12.30pm???? I've been to sleep since then. WM you got over hormonal. CNR really hope the move goes ahead

Ronniebaby · 28/07/2003 22:46
