Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

smug as smug can be ive lost 6kg in 30 days and have only been taking it seriously (joining MFP for 10 days)which has really educated me and focused me

i still have alot to lose started at 17.4 and now 16.3 but it sees to be working

KP86 · 26/03/2016 19:00

Hey there Sally :)

This is a total (planned) write off weekend for me, carb-wise but I'm still being sensible.

B: one large pancake with strip of bacon and a little bit of syrup
S: Large latte
D: Home made salmon Wellington with steamed broc, asparagus and carrots
Might have some apple pie and cream for dessert

Activity: short shift at work (local cafe)

I have had another small loss on the scales, so down close to 9kg now. Under 100kg, hoping it stays that way!

KP86 · 26/03/2016 19:03

Forgot to say, well done on your loss so far. It's so great to have a big loss at the beginning to keep yourself motivated.

seasidesally · 26/03/2016 19:33

thanks, yes waiting for the stall of weight loss, how did you find it

oh salmon wellington sounds very nice, ive just had a three egg ommlette with some smoked salmon thrown in

oh for apple pie, make sure you savour every mouthful Smile

curious or nosey.after your weekend will you put weight on? have you done this before

KP86 · 26/03/2016 21:11

Omelette and smoked salmon sounds yummy.

I haven't had a cheat weekend before, so we will see. I'm still eating sensibly and trying to stay under or around my daily cal target (without tracking though) so if nothing else I'm hoping to maintain rather than gain. If I do gain I'll chalk it up to experience and know for next time.

Even though I've been eating carbs, I am still having so much less food than before. I couldn't finish my dinner and it wasn't a huge serve at all, I had 1/6 of the pie with a small spoon of cream, where before I would have had 1/4 (or more!) and lots of cream. The thing is, I'm FULL! Almost to the point where I wish I'd not had as much.

After this weekend I'll be back to being good, it was just that between Good Friday yesterday and Easter Sunday tomorrow (chocolate eggs for breakfast, anyone?!), it didn't make sense to stress about eating today when it will still take most of this week to get back into ketosis.

Other than this week when I've had a lot of days off-plan, I have been super strict with myself. It will be interesting to see whether now that I've had a few days of high carb eating (so essentially starting from scratch) if I experience that sudden loss like I did when I first started LCHF.

seasidesally · 26/03/2016 22:14

well you've not been well either,i imagine being in ketosis and feeling ill is hard work

i really fancy the apple pie though, well done for a small portion

let us know what the scales say when you weigh yourself it will be very interesting

ihatethecold · 27/03/2016 10:49

So I've lost 4lbs in 6 days.
Not back considering I went out for a Thai meal on Friday night and drank 3 cocktails.

This morning I've made bacon and egg bakes in a muffin tin.
They were delicious.

KP86 · 27/03/2016 12:00

Good work ihatethecold!

In answer to the question of whether I thought I would gain weight this weekend, I've actually gone down about 1.5kg since Thurs. Impossible to pinpoint what exactly contributed, whether it was eating less generally due to being unwell, or I was due a 'whoosh' (term stolen from LCHF boot camp threads) after a couple of slow weeks, or whether I will regain this week (fingers crossed not!) but I'm thrilled. I have three pairs of jeans that fit at the moment and I put on the smallest pair this morning and there's space around the waistband. I'm almost literally jumping for joy.

seasidesally · 27/03/2016 14:05

well done everybody we all seem to be doing really well, its a great feeling

does instant coffee have carbs,on MFP last week i put in generic says 1 carb per cup,i drink alot of it and bought some asda coffee yesterday,it does not say anything on the side about fat,cal etc so went on MFP and most brands say no carbs

ive been having 7carbs a day just on coffee but keeping under 25 and somedays 10-15 once fibre has been taken out

what do you girls have down for coffee and are there carbs

KP86 · 27/03/2016 17:01

I don't think my Nespresso pods show in MFP as having carbs.

The thing about MFP is that you need to compare their listing with the packaging where possible because it's all put in by people like us who might have done it incorrectly, or the company has updated recipe and nutrition info but it hasn't been fixed in app.

Maybe go on the supermarket website and check, Asda has nutritional info for most products on the online groceries pages.

KP86 · 27/03/2016 20:03

Ok, another non-diet day, but again, tried to stay sensible.

B: fry's Turkish delight from Easter Bunny, small latte and 1 egg on grain toast with butter
A/T: Cheese scone with butter
D: Roast lamb with potato, sweet potato, asparagus and cauli, served with gravy. I also had a shard of Easter choc before dinner.
S: 1/6 pie and cream again.

Activity: family afternoon out at a couple of English Heritage sites. Nothing OTT, but a nice wander about.

Officially I'm meant to start back on LCHF tomorrow but I think it will be a few more days of half-hearted because I have a pack of hot cross buns left to eat and more Easter choc.

Emmiy · 31/03/2016 11:31

How's everyone doing? I'm doing ok but Easter chocolate and its high sugar content is very moreish and addictive isn't it. So I'm back to eating much cleaner. Throwing the leftover choc out and back to a couple of squares if the dark dark stuff.

Emmiy · 31/03/2016 11:33

seaside I have real fresh ground coffee and I have it black. Took awhile but now I love the taste of different blends

ihatethecold · 31/03/2016 12:55

Hi Everyone,

Doing well here. Ive lost about 5lbs so far in just over a week and Ive been out twice and drunk alcohol.

I got the Pig to Twig book of ebay and have started properly yesterday.
i went to Aldi and bought loads of protein and its going well.

Does anyone on here take Chromium for sugar cravings?
mine are not too bad but the book recommends I take them along with a whole host of other supplements.

seasidesally · 31/03/2016 15:34

checking in

weighed myself (at boots the chemist) and total in 36 days lost is 1stone 1lb so am very happy

didnt have any eggs over easter at all, despite 4 eggs staring at me in the lounge right now and have not had any sweets/choc/biscuits/pasta/rice etc for 4 wks (apart from some choc's) a few weeks ago

so im now 16.2 stone and want to get down to 12,im lucky i dont show it as much as i weigh but still a long way to go

ihatethecold · 31/03/2016 15:38

well done Sally

I must admit i am in a bit of a bad mood today.
Everyone and everything is annoying me.

seasidesally · 31/03/2016 16:02

ha ha i was like that when i got hungry,i was so irritable

hope it passes

ihatethecold · 31/03/2016 17:42

I'm not hungry but I feel like I've got pmt. Sad

KP86 · 01/04/2016 07:20

Hello everyone! After a whole week of not following I'm back from today. A few Easter eggs, some hot cross buns and an afternoon tea yesterday. It could have been worse, I guess! I haven't gained weight, which is a total bonus.

Well done on the losses, more than a stone in 5 weeks is awesome.

To the PP (sorry, can't check names on phone) who asked about supplements, that sounds a bit sales pitchy to me, but if you think you need them, go for it. I've personally found that after a few days the sugar cravings just go. I was really surprised because I'm addicted to the stuff. I do take two Boots Multi-Vitamins each day, just to try to make sure I'm getting enough nutrients, but that's all.

I'll come back later with my food diary.

To steal from BIWI (LCHF Queen), Keep On Keeping On (KOKO).

seasidesally · 01/04/2016 16:08

good to have you back on board KP86,what a bonus you havent put any on ,well done Smile

op are you about it would be good to know how things are going,it dosent matter if its not going as expected,we are all here for each other,i fell of the wagon 3 weeks ago and scoffed 20 chocolates and have lived to tell the greedy tale, Grin

ihatethecold · 01/04/2016 17:39

What's everyone eating each day?
I've had a cheese and ham omelette
Ham salad with cottage cheese for lunch.
Tin of tuna mayo at 4
And I've got chilli without the kidney beans or rice for dinner.

seasidesally · 01/04/2016 18:02

in a minute im gonna have smoked haddock and prawns pan fried in butter, broccoli and spinach

very quick and easy

generally, steak, fish, omlettes, ive cut down on the nuts but like a few strawberries a few times a week, need to cut the double cream in coffee down

ive actually cut breakfast unless im really hungry, some wont agree but ive never eaten breakfast and was finding it difficult to force myself, apparently its like me fasting Hmm

ihatethecold · 01/04/2016 18:10

Why do you need to cut the double cream out?

seasidesally · 01/04/2016 18:49

ihatethecold do you track carbs,if so how many do you aim for daily ?

god i would kill for some chilli, should really look into making it the low carb version
