Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

I'm going out on Friday night for a friends birthday to a Thai restaurant.
What should I have that will do the least damage.
I know I should try stay away from the rice and alcohol

KP86 · 24/03/2016 06:04

Seasidesally, have a look at a Keto website which has ruled.me in the address. There is a calculator on there which will give you ideal cal and micronutrient goals.

KP86 · 24/03/2016 06:05

Ihatethecold, go for stirfried vegies and anything cream based like green curry. No rice is correct!

ihatethecold · 24/03/2016 06:08

Thanks KP, so alcohol is ok then? Wink

KP86 · 24/03/2016 07:09

Surprisingly, some types of alcohol are ok! I don't remember which, but some of the spirits (I think gin, scotch and maybe vodka) are low carb.

Not low cal, and of course you have to count your mixers too.

Google is your friend here.

hejsvejs · 24/03/2016 08:45

Gin & slim line tonic is low carb and dry wine too.

'Evening, all.

Today's food:
B: (running out the door) Atkins cookies and pack pork scratchings
MT: two black instant coffees at play group
L: bacon, eggs, mushrooms and spinach
D: leftover Mexican hot pot from last night
S: sugar free ginger beer, sugar free jelly, and I might make some ganache for dessert later

A: approx 40 mins of walking with DS

Haven't been drinking enough water lately, which is probably contributing to stagnating weight.

Net carbs: 9g, possibly another 2 to add if I make ganache.

ihatethecold · 24/03/2016 19:40

I had
B. 2 boiled eggs with a tin of tuna mixed with some ricotta stirred through.
L. apple with cinnamon on it and 10 almonds
D. salmon with pesto on it with cougetti and half an avocado mixed through.
small milky coffee and teas

KP86 · 24/03/2016 19:48

KP86 · 24/03/2016 20:44

I've just re-done my calculator as well and need to adjust my calorie intake from 1500 to 1400/day.

I've been eating way too much protein and not enough fat. eg. today I'm 26g over in protein but 67g under in fat. Will need to look into some ways to switch that around. Wonder if that's affecting weight loss as well. I'm trying very hard not to be disheartened by losing only 1kg this month so far, when I did so well in the beginning.

seasidesally · 24/03/2016 21:51

how much weight did you start at,sorry if you prefer not to say

KP86 · 24/03/2016 21:52

Started at 108kg, currently 100.2.

seasidesally · 24/03/2016 21:54

my fat score is 87 and mostly get there sometimes over which im ok with but i find it hard to to get near my protein which should be 98

KP86 · 24/03/2016 21:55

Do you have a high or low estimated body fat currently?

seasidesally · 24/03/2016 21:55

how long did it take to loose 8kg,well done

KP86 · 24/03/2016 21:57

About five weeks.

3.5 in first week, 1.5 next week and the other three kg quite slowly since.

I've been on LCHF for about six weeks so far I think. Steady weight for the last week.

seasidesally · 24/03/2016 21:58

sorry what do you mean
