Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

Because I was having half every 1-2 days rather than half a week and I think it might be contributing to me being out of ketosis.

Other than the rolls (and the sweeteners) I was so good last week but not in ketosis, and that's the only thing that's different to my first few months of LC.

seasidesally · 15/06/2016 21:21

SheriffCallie · 15/06/2016 22:59

I've stuck to plan today.
b: scrambled eggs with coconut oil
L: cauliflower fried rice with chicken and chorizo
D: smoked salmon with lettuce, cucumber, 1/2 avocado, an egg and spoonful of Mayo. Was gorgeous.
S: Handful of almonds after work. Few squares of dark choc. 3 black coffees.
A few people have commented that I've noticeably lost weight so screw you, scales Grin. I don't care what you say!

SheriffCallie · 15/06/2016 23:01

Well done on the exercise Sally. I did two hours of gardening last night and 90mins of housework after work tonight. I'm struggling to fit in any extra. Really want to get back to running a few miles 3 times a week though, I just need 2-3 runs to break the back of it.

seasidesally · 15/06/2016 23:08

oh you must have been so pleased people have started to notice, its a great boost to keep you on track and motivated

gardening especially if heavy is such a great exercise

well done for sticking to plan

seasidesally · 16/06/2016 08:57

oh heck couldnt sleep last night and was hungry so came down and had 1oz cheese and some pate,oh and 50g of dark chocolate, ffs

have a good day everyone

YogaDrone · 16/06/2016 12:13

that doesn't sound too bad as a 4am snack sally. Enjoy your day, and the football Smile

I'm still grappling with my meatball dinner trauma of it coming in at 20g+ carbs by itself. I didn't make it last night so I've been looking at it this morning. The meatballs have 2g per serving, mushrooms 0.4g, green pepper 5.5g, pasata 5.5g = 13.5g which is okay. But if I add half a sautéed onion it increases by a whopping 15g. So I think this is my problem - avoid onions!

I chose the lowest carb pasata I could find at 9.4g per 100ml which isn't too bad. I will look at tinned tomatoes instead next time KP thanks for the tip.

So today:
b- scrambled eggs and 2 slices of ham
l - chicken salad with olives and Caesar dressing
d - meatballs with mushrooms, green peppers, pasata and black olives (DS can have pasta with his). Dessert of mascarpone creation.

Higher than usual carbs caused by the meatball dish so I'll cut out other higher carb fruit and veg today, as far as possible as I still want to eat vaguely healthily.

BIWI · 16/06/2016 12:56

Shallots are much lower in carb - 3.3g per 100g compared with 7.9g for onions!

BIWI · 16/06/2016 12:56

... but how do meatballs have carbs in them? What are the ingredients? I'd just make my own with minced meat (beef or pork) then there aren't any carbs.

YogaDrone · 16/06/2016 16:48

shallots it shall be in future then, thanks BIWI.

Good point - got me thinking so I looked at the packet of meatballs and they say

SheriffCallie · 17/06/2016 08:58

That's reassuring that it's mostly just the onion pushing up the carbs, I can avoid those easily. The kids pick them out of everything anyway so probably easiest not to put them in.
Sally, that's not the worst snack you could have had, midnight munchies tend to call for carbs so you did well to resist.
We had a hard day yesterday as our lovely old dog had to be put to sleep. The need to comfort eat was strong but I made do with a square of dark choc and then, later on, some HF Greek yoghurt. Had no breakfast, lunch was salmon salad and dinner was chicken wings with a bit of lettuce on the side. Did potato wedges and roasted corn on cob for everyone else but was too tired/stressed to think of anything else for me.
Am out for dinner tonight so will browse the menu in work later.
Happy start of the weekend everybody!

seasidesally · 17/06/2016 13:10

seasidesally · 19/06/2016 14:41

ha ha only me then

today lots of housework and trying to be as active as possible

may weigh myself the end of next week,we will see, dont think ive put on so will probably weigh and keep fingers crossed

stripeyzebra321 · 19/06/2016 16:26

I'm still plodding along nearly at it for 9 weeks solid and 100% and 1 stone 8lbs down.

Starting to takes its toll now as the last week I have been completely lethargic and just in a i can't be bothered mood and my brain is fried, I'm forgetting to do such simple tasks.

I have decided I will be continuing to low carb for max of 4 more weeks before reintroducing carbs gradually.

Worked out this morning I am 8.8lbs away from my target so will start working out again.

I was wondering if I can really push myself and loose a extra 7lbs ontop of the 8.8 but I think I need to take a little break and maybe go a bit more, not sure as I have noticed I've lost a lot of weight on my top half and my collar bone is very prominent now.

I'm not sure, will cross that bridge when I get there I suppose.

KP86 · 19/06/2016 16:39

Hi guys, I'm here. Haven't read through or updated for a couple of days but I will do so. I haven't been following LC for almost a week and I know I've gained. I'm honestly too scared to get on the scales and see how much. There has been far too much junk, my usual avalanche instead of remaining mostly sensible :(

Hope to get back to it tomorrow, will be Tuesday at the latest.

seasidesally · 19/06/2016 18:16

thank god you lot have checked in,was lonely on my own Smile

KP86 · 19/06/2016 19:00

Sorry, Sally!

Was your big night of drinking for a special occasion? Football maybe? (As a non-Pom, I can't get myself excited by soccer Wink)

I'm having wine tonight because I opened the bottle yesterday and it needs to be drunk. Oops.

stripeyzebra321 · 19/06/2016 19:25

I'm sooo jealous of you lot having a drink!

Not that I'm normally remotely bothered if I have a drink or not but knowing I can't is quite hard.

I turned down a night at at a gig next week as I don't see it being any fun without a pint and in situations like that is where I become weak.

I have made a decision on my weight loss now as its been going round in my head for weeks.

3-4 weeks max in ketosis as its hard being so restrictive.

Then I'm going to add a small portion of carb to my Eve meal but do exacally the same as what I'm doing at the moment. Will a small treat on a Sunday (a small pudding perhaps)
And I'm hoping I may still loose a little weight and not be so tied down. Will increase my running also as I am struggling ATM with energy.

seasidesally · 19/06/2016 20:13

no just the football, and their playing tomorrow night so am back out again

how was your evening out KP ?

just jump on them scales, the not knowing is the worst, the other week i was the same and felt bloaty decided i needed to know one way or another and was very surprised,by weighing at least you know what you need to do if it has jumped

also when it goes up if im quick enough and really strict on carbs i find it much easier to get rid of again

seasidesally · 19/06/2016 20:14

strip, that will be interesting to see what happen when you introduce more carbs but the rest the same

stripeyzebra321 · 19/06/2016 21:24

Sideside in not holding out much hope as I was doing that for a month before I decided enough was enough and went into ketosis. I only lost 2lbs in that month. I can't work out how as my calories were hell of a lot lower than normal.

KP86 · 19/06/2016 21:56

98.4!!!!!!!!!!

That's at the end of the day, but it's far from pretty.

Not happy.

seasidesally · 19/06/2016 22:08

your right its the end of the day, worst possible time imo

cant be anyworse tomorrow, weigh and get on it,you know yourself you can get it of and it wont be as bad to get it of as before

atleast you have an idea, see what it says tomorrow, were here for you Flowers
