Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

I haven't seen bare naked noodles before, do you have a link?

seasidesally · 22/05/2016 19:13

hi all and welcome fish

id like a non-low carb noodle it would so make a change

done some painting so a fare bit of activity approx 3hrs

roast pork for tea and made some amazing crackling, also had an ounce of garden peas and an ounce of carrots

fish hoe do you manage no carbs ?? what do you eat ??

fisharefriendsnotfood32 · 22/05/2016 19:54

Here's the link for noodles.

www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/bare-naked-foods-noodles-60013137?SL_ClassKey=1

Will let you know how I get on with them, available In morrisons, wait rose and holland and Barratt. They were £2.99 and buy one get one half price but there quite large at 380g.

I have drastically reduced my portion sizes so I'm aiming to use 1/3 as my eyes are currently bigger than my belly.

fisharefriendsnotfood32 · 22/05/2016 21:42

The noodles were absolutely fine in my opinion. I washed them off and chucked them in the pan with my steak and put a small dash of soy sauce on and a vv small grating of low carb cheese. Tasted more like noodles than spaghetti and had a bit more bite to them but I would have them again. A good addition to a meal or just a change. Think I'd say I'm more likely to have them once I'm at target as a great way of saving carbs and cals.

I think in a spaghetti Bol they would be great or as a chicken noodle soup or just with chesse. Bit pricey but I would get them again they also do the same no carb v low cal rice option so I would also try that.

I used just under half in the end. But at 8cals for half a bag they were fine

seasidesally · 22/05/2016 22:42

thanks for that info

I have scrolled looking for KP's cheesecake mix. With no success. Have I missed it?

KP86 · 23/05/2016 07:28

Cheesecake mix is:
200-250g soft cream cheese
300ml double cream
Juice of half a lemon or a couple of tsp bottled juice
Small amount of Stevia to taste (you really don't need much, maybe 1-2 tsp)
1 tsp vanilla

Beat everything together until fairly stiff. Makes about six good serves, which are around 2g carbs each.

KP86 · 23/05/2016 07:29

Fish, the Eat Water brand noodles sound similar and they are zero carb.

Buy 1, get 1 free at Ocado at the moment (£2.48/2 packs). Each pack is 2 serves.

redskirt3 · 23/05/2016 13:58

Thank you :)

seasidesally · 23/05/2016 17:24

hi,saw the bare naked noodle in sainsburys, not for me im afraid "i eat with my eyes" so to speak and they didnt do it fr me,great if you like them

well i was passing a Boots and it would of been rude not to weigh myself (last weigh in 6 days ago) and am pleased and a little surprised that i have lost another pound

so feeling motivated

tea is low carb pork sausages,a little carrot and a tiny amount of peas and alot of spinach

KP86 · 23/05/2016 18:11

I'll be back after dinner to update my last two days. Suffice to say that if I continued to eat as I did yesterday I would GAIN 2kg/week. Scary. No question as to how I (really, we, including DH) got fat.

KP86 · 23/05/2016 21:31

Ok, quick post for today's food only. I will be back at some point. I haven't abandoned the cause. Haha!

B: lots of Jasmine tea
L: Covent Garden mushroom soup with half protein roll, cheese and ham roll up
AT: Pork scratchings, dessert spoon coconut oil
Pre-dinner: 30g hazelnuts, cup of jelly (it wasn't even set yet, I drank it like cordial. Yes, I was desperate!)
D: steak with roasted LC vegies, topped with mushroom and butter sauce
Snack: handful 80% chocolate chips

Water: almost 2L including the tea

seasidesally · 23/05/2016 22:13

all gone to plan today and found a really tasty melted cheese v low carb and high in fat snack

SheriffCallie · 23/05/2016 22:20

Hi all, glad everyone is managing ok. I haven't weighed myself since last tues and given my alcohol consumption on Friday, I'm not expecting positive change. Anyway, I've been good since.
B: scrambled egg with butter
L: half an avocado and a slice of ham (I was in a rush)
D: courgetti with smoked salmon and cream sauce.
I took the kids swimming today and caught a glimpse of myself suited up in the reflective doors. I think I'm slimmer than a few months ago, even if the scales have stopped showing a change.
I'm feeling v tired due to non-sleeping toddler and having only had one day off at weekend. It was sleep deprivation that pushed me into my reliance on sugar but I'm going to stay firm this time :)

seasidesally · 23/05/2016 22:48

good to here everything is going ok sheriff and your feeling slimmer

ive been taking my son swimming more, kills two birds fun for him fat busting for me and it's good to have one on one

im sure im not drinking enough water so will be really trying to up it

hope everybody has a good day

KP86 · 24/05/2016 13:04

Sorry to hear about your head.

How did you make your melted cheese snack?

seasidesally · 24/05/2016 15:06

it was on the recipe thread

put some grease proof paper on a tray (it will weld itself to the tray if not)

some cheddar cheese grated, though i have some pre packed Anchor squares so i just cut into 4 then put in a pre heated oven fan 220 for 8-10 mins

facinating to watch, they melt straight away and spread then crisp up

you should be able to lift them of without falling apart

i have experimented and added marmite, omg so bad they left a bitter taste in my mouth for hrs but last night after they had cooked brushed on a little worchester sauce,i really liked them

but omg lots of grease/fat on the grease proof paper, but fat is good Grin

KP86 · 24/05/2016 15:33

Oh yeah, like the biscuit crisps? Yummy.

seasidesally · 24/05/2016 17:53

im not sure what biscuit crisps are ??

KP86 · 24/05/2016 18:32

I meant the cheesy biscuit crisps. Exactly as you've described, they are one of the first recipes on the BC recipe thread.

Melt piles of cheese in the oven, bake for a few mins until golden, let cool, peel off the paper and enjoy.

It's especially delicious using Parmesan.

seasidesally · 24/05/2016 18:41

thats it,oh may give them a try with Parmesan

hows boot camp going

as youve been doing this for months are the rules differrent for you ??

KP86 · 24/05/2016 18:54

Officially, no, but I haven't been following BIWI's rules perfectly either! I am not using BC as a way of starting over, but it's nice to read how others are going (same as on this thread) and get ideas for snacks/meals.

The only thing is that because none of them are (meant to be) calorie counting, I often look at their daily food with a touch of envy! I just couldn't eat 1/2 a package of butter each day without it showing somewhere, I don't care what the science suggests.

I am trying to get my macros right (5/25/70 for carbs/protein/fat) which hopefully will contribute to losses.
