Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

That sounds really nice, Sally! If you don't eat the apricots it would probably be passable.

seasidesally · 20/05/2016 18:16

havent opened the packet yet,may by pass the apricots

SheriffCallie · 20/05/2016 18:24

Sounds yummy but yeah, maybe swerve the apricots. And dates.
I've been restrained today. At a work event where scones, then sandwiches and fruit supplied. I ignored them all, just slipped to canteen and got a roast beef salad instead (beef, lettuce, cucumber, coleslaw). Chucked the tomato and potato salad.
Now at the hotel hoping there will be 'something with salad' for the buffet bit.

Food for today:
B: half protein roll with coconut oil, one fried egg
L: Covent Garden mushroom soup, teaspoon coconut oil, 10g 80% choc chips. It's annoying, the salty soup (and all versions of ready meals) makes me crave something sweet immediately after. Grrr.
AT: pork scratchings, 2 ham slices and a piece of cheese in a roll up. I wasn't especially hungry but ate it as I made my DS something at the same time.
D: pork steaks with roasted cauli, broc, zucchini and mushrooms; cheeky glass of white wine (don't worry BIWI, I won't mention that on BC thread!)
Snack: cheesecake mix

Water: 2.5L

Activity: 60 mins of swimming with DS, making sure I was moving the whole time, and 60 mins of brisk walking around the place today.

KP86 · 20/05/2016 20:39

Far out, half a glass of wine and I'm feeling pretty drunk!

KP86 · 21/05/2016 19:21

Hello, LC crew. Hope everyone is well today.

B: half protein roll, coconut oil and one fried egg
L: ham and masdaam cheese
AT: large spoon of coconut oil and pack pork scratchings. I was craving some sort of junk so tided myself over with the coconut oil.
D: Slim pasta with Philly herb and garlic stir through sauce with salmon, broccoli, mushrooms and spinach.
No dessert tonight as I've run out of calories.

Water: working towards 2L. Not been great about it so far!

Activity: also not much, just a bit of shopping with the family this morning.

In good news I weighed this morning and I was 94.2 - dropped 1kg in the last couple of days. Tomorrow is a day off so I'm hoping with 20 fingers and toes crossed that I don't ruin everything. Heading to 93-point-something, which is getting dangerously close to 90! That's an exciting target...

SheriffCallie · 21/05/2016 19:47

Yay well done KP.
I've was good food wise last night and today but a disaster alcohol wise. Had 4 (!!) g&ts, they just kept appearing in front of me.
Back on it today. Had scrambled egg and slice of bacon for breakfast, two chicken breast mini fillets and some green leaves for lunch and 3 pork ribs with a spoonful of coleslaw for tea.
Going to meal-plan for this week although I shouldn't find it too difficult to stick to things as there will be no meals out or alcohol until my holiday in July.

KP86 · 21/05/2016 19:51

As long as you get back on it, I think it's forgivable. No point in beating yourself up too much because it won't change anything!

I hope you enjoyed your G&Ts! I'm tempted to have a glass of wine tonight as well.

seasidesally · 21/05/2016 20:30

hi all, went swimming today with my younger son,o probably on swam 10 mins breast stroke but made sure i was moving about using arms legs etc all the time

just had a gammon steak with stuffed mushrooms

fitted into a new pair of size 14 leggings today

this weeks been a bit up and down weight wise.home scales say ive not lost in the last 5 days and dont feel like i have either but have had a chocolate binge days ago and though apart from that ive been ok but this week has tested me,dont know why

KP86 · 21/05/2016 20:34

Size 14? I'm so envious! That's my goal size. Still in 18s here but they are getting too big.

Swimming is great. I want to go when I don't have DS (maybe on a Monday when he's at the child minder's) so I can do it properly. It does puff me out (and it's an odd feeling being hot while in the cool water!) but so good for you in terms of being low impact.

seasidesally · 21/05/2016 20:35

sorry forgot to say well done KP your getting nearer all the time

Enjoy tomorrow

KP86 · 21/05/2016 20:40

Man, I want to cheat tonight! Only 12 hours until I'm free as a bird for 12 hours, lol! Must keep myself under control until then.

I am having some wine. I have a wine box in the fridge left over from DS's birthday party last month so it's easy for me to have a glass every now and then. But I have only had 3 or so over the past month.

seasidesally · 21/05/2016 20:41

well leggings stretch dont they lol

but 2 months ago i bought a size 16 jean they didnt fit but approx 3 weeks ago they fitted me,wore them yesterday and they fit like a glove but verging on a little lose

shops are all differrent sizes i find

still an 18 on top but i have a huge tummy and busty but i have lost a huge amount from my back and bought a pretty bra over a year ago it got so tight couldnt wear it,tried today and it fits and can wear all day without rubbing and having to take it of

SheriffCallie · 21/05/2016 20:44

Stay strong!!! Sending willpower vibes (that were clearly lacking last night☺️)

seasidesally · 21/05/2016 20:48

ive never been a wine drinker,is there many carbs ??

write down what you indulge in tomorrow it will be interseting to see what you eat

god i know every night last week it was a battle not to scoff anything sweet, savoury dosent bother me but sweet is my thing

seasidesally · 21/05/2016 20:51

thanks sheriffdo you have low tonic water with your Gin,thats not to carby if you have that (i think)

im a vodka drinker but im practically tea total in the last 6months and i dont miss it but im not out as much as i used to

seasidesally · 21/05/2016 20:53

just realised the vibes were from you to KP not me Blush

KP86 · 21/05/2016 21:03

Remind me how tall you are? I'm comparing body shapes. But I'm a real pear, small on top (although 14F boobs) and huge hips/bum/thighs.

Wine is pretty carby, but could be a lot worse. A large glass (230ml) has 4.6g according to MFP. But I haven't had many (net) carbs today so I have spares.

DH is already talking about having pancakes for breakfast, and I have a slice of nice cake leftover from work that's been in the freezer waiting for this weekend! We are having Turkish food for lunch so hopefully I'll be able to stick to meat-centric dishes which will be ok, carb-wise.

seasidesally · 21/05/2016 21:10

im 5ft 6

small hips/bum/thighs for my size

believe it or not i dont look my weight i do look smaller than what i weigh

mind im still a hefty lump just less so

years ago i was 11 stone and everybody said i looked ill and even got asked if i threw it all back up and did i have an eating disorder but i want to get back to 13 stone

KP86 · 21/05/2016 21:18

So we are similar heights as well. I'm 5.8.

People often don't believe my weight/size, either. When I was 'slim' (for me) I was still wearing 14-16, but, and I think I've said this before, people would assume I was 12-14. For me, 75-80kg is quite slim, but for most people that's hideously overweight. Possibly because I'm comparing to my current weight instead of what's actually slim.

Can't decide whether it's better as an apple or pear... I wish I had skinny legs so I guess there's my answer. Wish I could wear shorts and skirts more but my legs rub and the shorts creep up and I constantly have to pull them down.

seasidesally · 21/05/2016 21:57

told you we were twins at birth

wow the BC thread is busy, just catching up with it Grin

fisharefriendsnotfood32 · 22/05/2016 12:47

Hope you don't mind me joining. I've been LC for 5 weeks now and lost just under a stone!

I'm 5"2
Currently weigh 10stone10
Have 34F chest and my tummy no longer protrudes my chest.
I'm a odd shape as I've always had even at my biggest of 14 odd stone I had a small waist big hips and massive thighs.
Not sure on my target weight yet somewhere in the 9's I'm hoping.

I've lost about a clothes size and it has come off quite evenly this time apart from my thighs so the next jean size down fits my tummy but too tight on tops of my legs. It's a PITA.

Always had very small fingers my rings are a size J and I think at this rate there going to have to be resized.

I'm doing low carb but not high fat. I have a bit of fat on my meat and enjoy it but my body does not like it one bit.

Really enjoying the LC I'm sleeping so much better apart from the toilet trips from lots of water, my skins a lot better too.

KP86 · 22/05/2016 15:50

Welcome, fish. You sound like you are doing brilliantly so far.

SheriffCallie · 22/05/2016 16:06

Hi Fish. You are doing well so far, it's good to have you on the thread.

fisharefriendsnotfood32 · 22/05/2016 17:12

Has anyone tried the bare naked noodles? I'm going to give them a go with my tea tonight just for a change.

Does anyone else struggle with this mentally? I find I've been fine no cravings and 100% no carbs since day 1. Il happily sit in macds with the family and just have a Diet Coke and not be bothered but I'm just a bit fed up now.

We don't go out that often but as soon as I started I've declined so many invites for food and drinks. Everyone always want to go for carvery or Chinese but never main stream places I can get a salad or mixed grill. It's so frustrating.

My friend had had some ketostix and I tested positive after a couple of days and I'm so carb sensitive so now I'm in and loosing i won't deviate and have a night off as I'm loosing 2.5lbs per week so a night off I could easily put it back on.
