Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

Sally, of course I don't mind. I'm happy to partake in a bit of nosiness myself :).
I've been LCHF for a little under 4weeks now. I'm definitely losing but not rapidly, probably because I don't have a big amount to lose so I'm happy for slow and steady.
I'm not sure of my exact weight when I started, I reckon around 9st9 or 9st10. Was 9st1 last week, but gained a stray lb this week.
8st7 would be ideal for me (I'm a shortarse and even half a stone changes the way I look completely) but I'd be happy with 8st 11.
I went to just over 10st after my 2kids, due to my continuous sugar intake. And I mean continuous. Dropped a few pounds eating more healthily but have stalled at this weight for ages and eventually realised I wouldn't shift the rest until I kicked the sugar/processed carb addiction, so thought LCHF would help. I'm v proud of myself for getting this far, I never thought I'd see the day when I refused a slice of cake but now I'm doing it without tears :). The motivation of having clothes that fit comfortably keep me strong.
So. That's my story.

BIWI, I promise I won't take it personally. I know that you are trying to help, and I admire how much time you spend giving advice to everyone and keeping them on track.

KP86 · 18/05/2016 13:00

Welcome SheriffCallie :) I don't think I've been anywhere near 10 stone since I was about 13 or 14, but I am quite tall. Plus I'm not at all naturally skinny or petite in any way, shape or form. 'Slim' for me is a 14-16, yet most people would think I was a 10-12 at that size.

Another win, I painted my toenails today, and was able to do it comfortably! I reckon if I tried to do that four months ago there's so way I could have done it.

seasidesally · 18/05/2016 14:12

thsmk sheiff, well your doing really well,oh to be 10 stone but like you say if it shows then it makes you un happy so keep going

its mostly me and kp on here with a few dipping in and out,it's great really supportive and plenty of ideas

yeah the clothes thing is such a motivator

KP86 · 18/05/2016 19:01

Copied and pasted from BC thread.

So happy with my dinner tonight.

I made Mexican mince and normally I serve on a bed of green salad, cheese and sour cream, which I mix through the mince and eat all together.

Tonight I turned it around and used the lettuce as cups to make burrito wraps. Same ingredients as normal but so much tastier! And more filling, too. My mince mixture made about five or six small lettuce wraps which was plenty. I've got more mince for tomorrow and shall be eating it the same way again.

Rest of my food:
B: two eggs on half a protein roll with butter
MT: Starbucks black filter coffee as I was out and had time to kill
L: none - still satisfied from breakfast
D: Mexican mince as above
Snack: will probably have cheese cake mix, and maybe pork scratchings if I'm especially hungry (hoping not)

Water: almost 2L so far, not as good as I've been the past few days. (But also fewer trips to the toilet!)

Activity: around an hour of walking running errands this morning. I was going to go out again this afternoon but I didn't want to face the rain!

KP86 · 18/05/2016 19:03

Forgot to say that I also had a sneaky spoon or two of dark choc chips before breakfast today.

seasidesally · 18/05/2016 19:20

ive upped my water but now ive lost the 2 stone im finding im thinking of sweet things, have no desire for pots, rice, pasta though

i feel like im getting complacent now

need to stay focused, lazy day today and feeling flat that's probably why

KP86 · 18/05/2016 19:35

I agree!!!!!!! So very much.

I am dying for sweet things (and bread) and have to really stop myself from mouthfuls here and there (especially at work). I still have the cravings, unlike some others who go off sugar completely once they are LC.

I suspect it's because the losses have slowed and so it doesn't feel as 'worth it' as in the beginning.

I'm actually a little heavier (less than 1kg) than this time last week which is disappointing but not terribly surprising because I have had a few slips.

BIWI · 18/05/2016 19:36

To be fair, KP, you've also continued to eat sweet things, and eat artificial sweeteners, which can have an impact on your weight. You won't go off sweet things if you keep eating them!

SheriffCallie · 18/05/2016 19:37

I weighed myself and found I'm the same (actually I'm 0.1kg heavier). But drinking water and keeping at it. Steak and avocado salad for tea.

seasidesally · 18/05/2016 19:41

im sure we were twins separated at birth KP

oh your tea sounds nice, actually ive never has steak and avocado on the same pate

sounds like were all having a little lull Smile

KP86 · 18/05/2016 19:50

I don't want to lose my sweet tooth either. That's the bigger issue.

I am so envious of people who don't have to work at maintaining their weight. Even though I know it's because they automatically eat more healthily than I would choose to (believe me, I wouldn't mind having Macca's or KFC a few times/week). Total lack of self control and discipline. And lazy! Unwilling to run the 10km to work off that KFC meal.

BIWI · 18/05/2016 20:06

Ah yes. I know exactly how that feels. I'd love to not love white wine. And gin.

seasidesally · 18/05/2016 21:09

well ive done 40 mins on the wondercore as i have been lazy today, hope abs work outs burns a few calories

also bought some black farmer sausages, only 1g carb per sausage

had cheescake mix with 1oz berries and my crumbled biscuit, was nice as havent had any for approx 10 days

KP86 · 18/05/2016 21:38

Good work Sally!

SheriffCallie · 18/05/2016 23:00

Sally, it was lovely. I've been eating a lot of avocados since starting this WOE. I find 1/2 one chopped up in my salad makes it a lot more filling, and I can go from lunch through to dinner without snacking if I've eaten some.
The cheesecake mix sounds good. I'll refrain from making any until I'm at my target and aiming for maintenance. My sweet cravings haven't been too bad since the first awful week, so I won't chance making a bowl only to get a taste again and devour the whole lot.
Planning my meals for tomorrow. Eggs for breakfast, ham salad with mayo for lunch and Chinese pork chop and veg for tea. V uninspiring but I've a lot on in work and so don't have the headspace to think about how to jazz it up.
Will do a full weeks meal plan this weekend.

seasidesally · 18/05/2016 23:18

i should meal plan more but decide on the day but im at the shops alot so i will just buy what i fancy

how much have you got to lose ??

ive been reading boot camp its worth a look

SheriffCallie · 19/05/2016 20:13

Sally, I'd be happy with 5 or 6 pounds but 10 would be great.
I was reading the bootcamp thread in work, was good for inspiration.

KP86 · 19/05/2016 21:11

10 pounds is a good round number and on LC shouldn't take too long (hopefully!). But as you probably know, unfortunately the less you have the lose the harder it is... you can do it!

Food for today:
B: Half protein roll with coconut oil instead of butter, one fried egg
L: spoon coconut oil. I was going to have some mushroom soup as well but I was tired so had a nap instead.
D: Mexican mince and salad

Activity: none Blush

Water: pretty close to 2L. I'll try to have another bottle of water before bed, which will be soon!

Still hovering in the 95s, I want to get back down to 94s again! I'm actually wondering if I've dropped calories too much and need to go back up to 1400-1500 again. Currently target is 1310/day. Today was around 1000, only because I didn't have my cheese cake dessert.

Definitely feeling a bit slimmer, mainly by the way my clothes fit. (Eg. I have a pair of plus size 18 (so regular size 20) 3/4 jeans which can now go up and down without me touching the zip. A lot of my loose-fitting size 18 tops are starting to look huge as well. I'm a definite pear shape, rather large from belly button to knees (plus my arms) but slimmer elsewhere. Trying to be brave and wear more fitted clothes because I know it helps you to look better rather than wearing sacks which only make you look bigger.

seasidesally · 19/05/2016 23:07

evening all

managed to resist any sweet things today but made some cheescake with berries, but all night i wanted sweets but didnt

it seems to be getting harder for me regarding sweet things but no way do i want to put any weight on ive lost

been looking through the LC recipies on here, some really good one's im gonna try,its a long thread

done my stuffed peppers with tuna/mayo/cheese pretty filling as been feeling hungry today so bits of cheese/ham etc

thought i would be over my cals but 100 under so pretty pleased as i was snacking more than normal today

SheriffCallie · 19/05/2016 23:23

KP, yay for things fitting better. That's so much more satisfying than the scales dropping, I think. Mexican mince sounds yum, is it a BC recipe?

Sally, well done on avoiding the sweet things. Hopefully the craving isn't so be tomorrow. I know the feeling though, My prob with sugar was that a little was never enough, I couldn't eat just one bar of choc as I was immediately craving another. I'm best if I avoid it completely, for now at least.

seasidesally · 19/05/2016 23:33

i'm like you

cant have just a bar,i have no self control where sweet things are concerned

in other words im a greedy bugger Grin

KP86 · 20/05/2016 07:19

Sherif, the Mexican mince is beef mince cooked with "Linda's taco seasoning" which you'll find online if you google.

I make up the bulk batch and add a tablespoon to 500g 12-15% fat mince. Don't use too much because it is pretty spicy!

seasidesally · 20/05/2016 14:45

picked up some tasty looking lamb rump steaks in M&S today and reduced so bought six and are now in the freezer

i also love ratatoulle but its always been way to high and not very filling but in M&S (reduced again) they had a pack of fresh 4 mushrooms stuffed with ratatouille and cheddar, the mushrooms are slightly smaller than a portobella but not much and are 7g carbs for 2 so tea is lamb steak, stuffed mushrooms and some spinach in butter

seriously looking forward to tea tonight

seasidesally · 20/05/2016 17:09

oh just found some mixed Moroccan spice mix at the co-op

its cashew, peanuts, apricots, almonds, dates etc with a spice mix(in a big bag)

high on fat but doable on carbs if you keep an eye on them

will try later
