Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

yay lost another 3lbs this week weigh 96.8kg

total smidge over 2stone

very pleased been LC for 11 weeks

2 stone to go

KP86 · 17/05/2016 16:46

That's fabulous, well done. So good to see the numbers dropping, and being able to see because we fit in smaller clothes as well.

My food for today (I've been hungry!)
B: coconut oil, coffee with cream (I think I need a more substantial breakfast)
L: out with DS so took along 40g almonds and pork scratchings to eat
D: will be Greek style chicken pieces with roasted LC vegies. I was going to make Greek salad (no onion or tomato, I hate them!) but I want something heavier.
Snack: cheese cake mix, maybe jelly

Water: 2.2L water and tea so far, should be close to 3L by bed. Really working on my drinking this week, will be curious to see if it makes a difference.

Activity: Walking and pushing the pram for almost 2 hours today. We went to a local(ish) attraction for a look-see.

I don't know whether it's because I find parenting utterly exhausting (DS is at a challenging age - every moment of every day is a battle of wills - although I reckon all parents say that about every stage of life) but I really do find myself feeling tired a lot, after not too much effort. I wonder if it's because I am super unfit, mixed with not enough sleep (again, thanks DS) and maybe the diet? I really feel as if my whole body aches just from living, let alone doing anything out of the ordinary.

KP86 · 17/05/2016 17:20

Twins would be insane. Good job on surviving!

seasidesally · 17/05/2016 17:28

ha ha happy days

did you start bootcamp yesterday ?

KP86 · 17/05/2016 17:56

Yes, but I have broken nearly every rule so far so don't know how long I'll last.

I feel confident enough in my LC eating to not have to avoid nuts and artificial sweeteners. And I can't not track my calories. I know I would overeat otherwise. It's how I gained weight every other time. I 'want' it so I have it, even if I'm already feeling full!

BIWI · 17/05/2016 18:00

I saw that! Grin

I think Bootcamp Light would probably suit you better anyway, given that you've been doing it for so long.

Stick around, but just keep quite about the nuts/sweeteners so that you don't give others the impression.

It's always good to have people with experience of low carbing on Bootcamp as it reassures the newbies, as well as helping them to benefit from your experiences/expertise.

KP86 · 17/05/2016 18:05

Haha, will do, BIWI. That's why I haven't posted today's food, I had almonds AND peanuts.

seasidesally · 17/05/2016 18:21

yes ive just been reading the posts on Bootcamp

its sounds challenging

i couldnt do it but mine is going well so will stick with that,im under 20 a day most days and losing as you know

its a good read though so will be reading the thread with interest

BIWI · 17/05/2016 18:27

Low carbing is low carbing, ultimately. Bootcamp is just one of many plans.

At the end of the day, it's what works for you.

ihatethecold · 17/05/2016 20:10

Well done on your weight loss and getting into your smaller sized clothes.
What a boost.

SheriffCallie · 17/05/2016 20:42

Hmm, weighed myself and I'm up 1lb on last Tuesday. Don't know if it was my noodle cheat on Thursday (I've been good since), if I'm not strict enough generally (having some almonds occasionally, and shredded carrot in salad) or if it's just hormonal (af is due). Will try not to get disillusioned, will up the water intake and keep plodding on. If I don't lose over the next two weeks, I may need to do the hardcore bootcamp.

seasidesally · 17/05/2016 22:16

hi,could be hormonal i find my period will add 2ish pounds

im not on bootcamp but am following it,it's really good and some good advice on there

keep going, its hard but will be worth it

seasidesally · 17/05/2016 22:17

thanks ihate

SheriffCallie · 17/05/2016 22:36

That reassuring to know, thanks Sally. I'll keep at it and see what happens. I was able to wear a pair of work trousers today that had been too tight for ages so something good is happening :)

seasidesally · 17/05/2016 22:43

its great when you can feel the weight coming of isnt it

yes the first time i put on 2lb just before i had my period i had a major panic,a few days in dropped back

seasidesally · 18/05/2016 10:06

hows BC going KP ?

im going to try and keep up with the thread, its fast moving isnt it

KP86 · 18/05/2016 10:24

I'm in trouble from BIWI, I'm leading the newbies astray.

It is a very fast moving thread!

BIWI · 18/05/2016 10:35

But I'm very grateful for you posting about your experiences, KP. Just remember that you're doing things your own way - which is absolutely fine - but it can be a bit triggering and unsettling for newbies to low carb and to Bootcamp.

seasidesally · 18/05/2016 10:36

ha ha your a rebel with a cause

i suppose the first weeks are very strict so what you now eat they cant,is that right ?

thats why i couldnt do it,ive got a sytem going now and think it' s strict enough

will catch up with it today

SheriffCallie · 18/05/2016 10:44

Morning all.
I might have a nosy in BC for inspiration but will make myself comfortable in here for now.
2 eggs scrambled in butter for breakfast and have finished a 750ml bottle of water already. That's commitment from me, I feel full up on water easily so don't think I'd been drinking enough. What's the recommended daily amount for LCHF?
What does everyone have planned for lunch/dinner?

KP86 · 18/05/2016 10:45

I'm trying, I really am! In fact I'm moderating my own posts quite a bit.

seasidesally · 18/05/2016 10:53

ive just caught up with BC thread, lol

your famous cheescake mix,oh how their missing out

sherriff im upping my water also kp does really well so im following her, have no idea how much though its gotta be more than i normally drink

i dont have breakfast but do have alot of coffee with cream through the day but am cutting back today so will see how it goes

do you mind me asking your back story, weight started, how long LCHF (yes im nosey) its just good to see how you started etc feel free to ignore if you prefer

BIWI · 18/05/2016 11:09

And I'm sorry that I'm very clearly waving my big stick around (a joke from the very first Bootcamp!) but if I don't make it clear from the outset how important the rules are, then it doesn't work as well for people.

So please don't think I'm picking on you! Even though I am Grin
