Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

ha ha same as you i only buy waitrose one's when 1/2 price

these were from Iceland 12 for £1.50

waitrose have their own cheese on offer and the spare ribs were £4 reduced to £1 me and my son will be sharing them, thanks i will look at the lamb didnt look at the fresh meat today and i love lamb

KP86 · 12/05/2016 21:35

The specials were from ocado but Waitrose usually mirrors them so they should be in store as well.

I'll have a look at the Iceland meatballs next time I'm there.

seasidesally · 12/05/2016 21:36

omg the ribs were amazing, chinesse spices and honey,my half rack 5 carbs

KP86 · 12/05/2016 22:00

Sounds delicious! Will have to look out for them next time I'm in waitrose.

KP86 · 13/05/2016 16:32

Getting in early today, feeling quite hungry and a little food obsessed. Will be good to put this day to bed.

B: coffee with cream, 2 fried eggs
Snack: about 10g salted peanuts and a pack of pork scratchings
Before lunch: pork scratchings, can Diet Coke
Late lunch: 6 beef meatballs, lettuce, cucumber and mayo
Snack: made up some cheese cake mix and ate about 1/2 serve this afternoon
D: will be lamb rack with roasted cauli, broccoli, zucchini and mushrooms. Maybe some bistro gravy to go with it.
Snack: rest of my cheese cake serve, and maybe jelly

Activity: walking for 90 mins this morning and swimming with DS for an hour. Hence feeling hungry, but I've already allocated most of the extra exercise calories in my menu above!

Water: About 1.3L so far, aiming for 2L total again.

seasidesally · 13/05/2016 17:02

seasidesally · 13/05/2016 18:42

2oz cheddar cheese
1/2 Lidl protein roll with butter
2x chicken drumsticks

KP86 · 13/05/2016 19:55

What is the protein roll?

KP86 · 13/05/2016 20:10

I just googled them, will have to go buy a few. They seem like a great idea on paper.

ihatethecold · 13/05/2016 20:41

Hiya. I'm still alive.
You two are doing so well.
I've had a really stressful week so I've been eating normally.
Life is a bit like an emotional roller coaster at the mo.
I can't even contemplate LC full time.
My eldest ds is going through a really tough time and it's affecting me.
My middle ds is just doing his GCSEs so I'm trying to be sane mother for him and I'm hating my job with a passion. 😕

Keep it up ladies. I will get back on it properly soon I hope.

seasidesally · 13/05/2016 21:18

hi ihate, you sound like you have alot going on,teens can be pretty stressful cant they one way or another

my two are doing exams at college,1 Alevels

hope the GCSEs go well and the stress levels go down for you all

keep checking in,hope things settle soon

ihatethecold · 14/05/2016 08:44

Thanks sally, my teen is ok, its my 25 year old that's causing stress.

You would think when they become adults its stops . Sad

KP86 · 15/05/2016 07:14

Bloody hell, ended up having a cheat evening last night (not calorie counting properly, slice of bread with dinner, large glass of wine and a slab of banana bread with butter for dessert) and this morning I am 1.5kg heavier than yesterday. Seriously.

Back on it today. If I needed motivation to stick to LC, there it is. I'm hoping that it's bloating or something similar from hay fever, and not a permanent rise!

BIWI · 15/05/2016 16:56

What you've done, KP86, is to refill your glycogen stores. It's not fat! Lots of water and a super strict couple of days (maybe ramp up any exercise if you can) and you'll be fine.

KP86 · 15/05/2016 17:09

Well today is out as well. Too tempted at work and we were so busy so no chance to sit and eat properly. I was snacking on bits and pieces throughout the day including carb stuff. Blush

I definitely will be back tomorrow, but the good news is I've already had 2.6L of water (inc black tea) today.

seasidesally · 15/05/2016 20:53

weekend mostly painting again (when will it stop)

had some chicken and leek gratin with some courgettes, finding it a struggle to find something i fancy even though im hungry

have had some wonderful crab pate from waitrose that dosent really have any carbs 1/2 pot 0.7g

tomorrow is another day KP your doing really well and i know you will continue to

like you say to me the weight is going in the right direction

KP86 · 15/05/2016 21:15

Even though I ate lots of carbs today I haven't gone close to my calorie target, still have around 600 spare after exercise. And I'm in bed now so won't be touching them. Yay!

I like the sound of that crab dip, will have to have a look tomorrow. I'm also going to lidl for some protein rolls.

We have half a banana cake left, I am going to try to avoid it, but... we'll see!

seasidesally · 15/05/2016 21:20

its called Distinctive Crab Pate, its in the chiller cabinets appro £1.70

i had some on 1/2 protein roll,to me it has a strong taste, really nice

let me know what you think of it

KP86 · 16/05/2016 12:20

I had one of the protein rolls for lunch. Loved it. Probably helped that it was fresh today. I'll freeze the other two I bought and have them throughout the week. It might be nice to have a bacon and egg roll for breakfast one day!

I reckon it will end up being very filling, which is good considering how calorific it was.

seasidesally · 16/05/2016 15:01

glad you liked them,i buy 2-3 at a time slice them in half, then freeze in the bag as sometimes i just want 1/2 roll

steak for tea with courgette and a few mushrooms and a blue cheese sauce

activity walked for 2 hrs,and been carrying some heavy shopping bags, seriously it was food shopping and i dont drive

also had a big bag of change to convert at a coin star, the machine was out of action so i had to lug that about and have just the bag as i had to bring it back home it weighed 8lb,yes 8lb in lose change

also makes you realise how much 8lb feels and we have lost nearly 3 times that Blush

KP86 · 16/05/2016 16:03

I know, it is a real wake up for me to look at DS and realise I now have lost his weight. Madness that we were lugging all that about every day.

Well, along the same lines, I put on my light jacket this afternoon to walk into town, and it feels HUGE! Like it's almost two sizes too big. This is a jacket that three months ago I was struggling to get the buttons to meet without straining and if I breathed out or moved suddenly they would pop open. Amazing feeling, and I've got to say I just about skipped to the shops, I felt as light as air.

I celebrated by buying a pair of S16 pants from New Look. They are still a touch tight but I can get them up and I'm not bulging all over the place. Woot woot!

While I was in Lidl today I bought some sirloin steaks so we will have those tomorrow I think. Mmmmm... Good idea to cut the rolls in half pre-freezing as well. They are quite large.

Today's food:
B: coconut oil, coffee with double cream
L: protein roll
AT: pork scratchings
D: will be D&A pork sausages, broccoli, cauli and asparagus, probably with some butter on top
Sn: cheesecake mix and maybe some SF jelly

Activity: lots of walking around today, almost three hours in total

I've also had 1.8L of water already, and I reckon there's another litre or so in me before bed because it's quite warm and my throat is a bit sore (hayfever leading to lots of mouth breathing and dry mouth/throat).

I think I'm about 400cal under for the day allowing for exercise, which is about where I've decided I want to aim for. Happy to eat about half my exercise calories most days and try to leave the rest.

seasidesally · 16/05/2016 16:15

its a geat feeling being able to wear things you couldnt before, keeps you going

same as you,i fitted into a pair of jeggins today that i have never fitted, labels still on etc i have never worn, also a 16,felt very smug and had a spring in myself and not dressing myself in scarfs and jackets trying to advert my fatness

well done on the water thats great

seasidesally · 17/05/2016 09:19

right im well planned today and have just prepared a beef bourguignon for tea
