Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

ihatethecold · 09/05/2016 16:53

KP are you in America?

ihatethecold · 09/05/2016 16:54

As in living there?

ihatethecold · 09/05/2016 16:57

Sally.
I'm fine now. Back to normal
Did LC yesterday and went to bed with no stomach ache or nausea.

Had an omelette for breakfast today.
But did have a toasted sandwich for lunch. I was in Costa and there's nothing to eat in there that's LC.
I had to eat as I had a 2 hour car journey home after.
I don't mind though. I'm feeling better so I'm happy.

KP86 · 09/05/2016 17:01

No, in the UK but from Australia.

seasidesally · 09/05/2016 17:14

glad your feeling better and getting back to normal, sounded awful Flowers

ihatethecold · 09/05/2016 17:15

I see. The pumpkin threw me.

KP86 · 09/05/2016 17:18

Haha, of course!

So many little things that I don't even think about. Like zucchini for courgette (which I forgot to say I put in the mix as well).

ihatethecold · 09/05/2016 19:49

🍤🌞🐊🕷 some emojis to remind you of home 😜

KP86 · 09/05/2016 19:56

The weather the past few days has been a beautiful reminder. I have been very happy about it all.

Today's food:
Skipped breakfast and lunch, was drinking black tea only. Shock It wasn't really on purpose, I was busy this morning tidying before the cleaner came, then had to go for a long drive to pick up something and finally off to the shops this afternoon to run some errands. As you said, ihatethecold, it's hard to find something while out and I wasn't hungry so didn't worry about it. I did end up buying a pack of hazelnuts from Tesco this afternoon and had a handful of those for afternoon tea (was hoping for LC Nutella, but it didn't taste much like it!)
D: pork and vegie meatloaf with broccoli and asparagus
Sn: SF cloudy lemonade, jelly with cream and pork scratchings.

Activity: just my wanderings, around 90 mins

Haven't had enough to drink, but I'm working towards 1.5L.

seasidesally · 10/05/2016 15:51

tooth all fixed, dam you Mars bar

feeling hungry so sausages, egg and mushrooms for tea

been lazy today so apart from a bit of walking and housework thats it

really want a wondercore they keep advertising (at home workout)think i will get it the next week or so,the reviews are pretty good

does anybody know anything about them ?

KP86 · 10/05/2016 16:27

Anything that's 'As seen on TV' should be avoided in my experience! Or at least look on Amazon or eBay for a knock off version and pay half the amount, haha!

Lazy day for me too, we've been out for ages but mostly sitting around while DS was playing and visiting a friend.

B: 2 spoons coconut oil and coffee with cream
L: 3 pork meatloaf things, mushrooms fried in 1 tsp coconut oil
D: will be chicken breast stuffed with spinach and Brie, served with garden salad, SF drink
Sn: maybe SF jelly

Because I haven't had any activity I don't have any leftover calories for a proper dessert this evening. I told DH I /might/ go to the gym when he gets home which would earn me cheese cake mix later but we will see. DS has been a bit of a challenge today which is bloody exhausting.

Carbs well within limits.

seasidesally · 10/05/2016 19:19

im hungry hungry hungry

KP86 · 10/05/2016 19:27

Then eat something!

A couple of eggs, scrambled
Roasted cauli, broccoli etc
A handful of nuts
Slice of ham and cheese if you have them
Tzatziki and celery/cucumber sticks

seasidesally · 10/05/2016 19:42

going for cheddar, brie, stilton, just underder an ounce each

KP86 · 10/05/2016 20:03

Excellent. IIRC, it's important to not let yourself be too hungry because that's when your body breaks down muscle to use as energy instead of using the fat like we want. That's the downside to ketosis.

I've over eaten today, and had WINE (!!) but I think I still managed to stay within 20g of carbs.

MFP says I'll be over by 800 cal if I have dessert, which I do want! I'll make up for it in exercise later in the week - working both days on the weekend which is around 2000 cal right there. Might also take DS somewhere tomorrow which requires a looonnnggg walk on my part.

seasidesally · 10/05/2016 20:39

thanks

enjoy your wine Smile

KP86 · 11/05/2016 07:57

Today marks 13 weeks since I started LC, and I've lost 13.1kg. Not bad when you consider my couple of non-LC weeks (massive binges, really) and the subsequent gains.

Only two more kg until I'm half way!

seasidesally · 11/05/2016 12:02

very well done KP you have done so well and also what i like is you are honest with your cheats,it makes it a more real thread and to admit these things we can feel free to admit our own

you should be very proud of your achievement

mine is 11 weeks and total 11.3kg -3,4lbs of half way

seasidesally · 11/05/2016 16:59

meatballs in a tom and garlic sauce for tea.with grated cheese on top, very nice

KP86 · 11/05/2016 17:08

That sounds nice. And the same as what I made for DS's dinner, hehe. He seems to be enjoying it.

My food for today:
B: coconut oil and coffee with cream
L: 3 pork meat balls and mushrooms cooked in coconut oil and can Diet Coke. That's all the meat balls finished now, I will definitely be making more.
D: will be Covent Garden Thai Chicken soup with slim noodles, as DH is working late and so I can't be bothered doing a big meal.
Snack: I've got heaps of cal and carbs left for today so might make some ganache, or there's a LC choc mug cake I really want to try so that's an option with cream as well.

Something I've noticed the last few days, eating a proper meal at lunch time (the meat balls) has meant I haven't gone looking for my usual 4/5pm snack before dinner. I am going to try to keep it up.

Activity: rain killed my plans to take DS on a long walk today, so only half an hour to and from a local play group.

Water hasn't been good, I've had about 450ml so far Confused Will try for at least 1L before bed time.

KP86 · 12/05/2016 19:01

Well, hello, hello everyone :)

Another beautiful day in SE London. Hope you are all doing well.

B: coconut oil, coffee with cream
L: Covent Garden Thai soup and slim noodles
D: fried beef meatballs with courgetti, mixed with basil pesto and topped with grated Parmesan. Rather tasty! I was going to put cream in with the pesto, but I was trying to cut back on calories for the day and it was perfect without it.
Snack: not sure what I'll have later, quite a few cal left so I'll def make something.

Activity: a bit of walking here and there with DS, total about 50 mins.

Not enough water, I'm aiming for 2L before bed.

seasidesally · 12/05/2016 19:57

hi,lots of running around today and bought some so so sweet strawberries from Waitrose,

last of the meatballs for tea, found some great organic tin tomates that i use in them, very rich and taste so much nicer than others ive had

also low on my cals so i may have a few ribs that i bought from waitrose they sound tasty

KP86 · 12/05/2016 20:42

Were your meatballs the Waitrose Hereford ones? I think they are great, especially when half price (wouldn't buy them otherwise).

This month they seem to be having a bonanza on lamb specials - I've got a lamb rack and roast lamb arriving in my shopping tomorrow as well as lamb meatballs on my list for next time. All around half price. The lamb chops were also on offer in case you are interested.

Ended up having jelly and cream for dessert. Still 400ish cal leftover but that will go towards my 800 deficit from earlier in the week. No need to eat for the sake of eating.
