Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?

I'm starting LCHF today. Is there anyone else who is starting now or have recently started this diet who wants to join me so we can support each other?

I need to lose at least 12 kg but would ideally want to lose 17 kg. if possible before summer is here so I don't have to feel self conscious about wearing summery clothes.

Thanks very much, BIWI.

KP86 · 07/05/2016 19:08

Well, we had a day out today and I MANAGED TO STAY LC!! Quite proud of myself.

B: 3 eggs, scrambled. No cream so I had the extra egg.
L: bunless beef burger with bacon, cheese and lettuce
Snack: pork scratchings
D: Mexican mince with salads, cheese and sour cream
Snack: will have some cheesecake mix later

Activity: 4 hours of walking around the city today. I wore a skirt so my thighs are definitely feeling it! Confused

Drinking lots of water and tea as usual. I did cheat this morning and checked my scales and I'm still in the 95s, woo hoo!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekends. I'm working again tomorrow so there's my activity sorted for the day.

seasidesally · 07/05/2016 19:18

KP86 · 07/05/2016 20:34

Sally, you are a workhorse! I'm so impressed.

Make sure you eat well tonight.

ihatethecold · 08/05/2016 07:56

Morning Everyone.
I'm going to try Low carbing today and see how i get on.
I'm currently working a 10 hour shift and have had 2 soft boiled eggs. I didn't enjoy them much.
I feel like I'm living just of bread.
Somethings got to get better!

BIWI · 08/05/2016 08:36

ihatethecold - there's no point in eating food that you don't enjoy! That way madness (and cheating!) lies.

ihatethecold · 08/05/2016 09:54

Thanks Biwi,
In all honesty the carb food isnt making me feel great. (bloating, wind) Blush
so I figured i would try low carbing, keeping it bland for a few days and see how i get on.

BIWI · 08/05/2016 11:23

No need to keep it bland either. Food is supposed to be a joy. And it is one of the great joys of low carbing that you can eat lots of delicious food, and not feel deprived.

ihatethecold · 08/05/2016 11:38

I know Biwi, i'm getting over Norovirus so I'm only doing bland for a few days.

BIWI · 08/05/2016 11:47

Ah. Good idea then Grin

Hope you're better soon.

seasidesally · 08/05/2016 14:39

well i had a steak last night and was still starving so i had 2 yes 2 Mars bars

i should have eaten in the day,but Karma got me,i like my chocolate from the freezer and bit into one and cracked my back tooth : Blush, luckily that one had a tiny hole so i had already made an dentist appointment for Monday,so now im going with a cracked tooth

but boy them Mars bars were good

going to be watching them scales as no idea how quick it will show and im on my period as well

doe anyone know???

good to see you up and about ihate

ihatethecold · 08/05/2016 15:03

oh no KP!

I hate the dentist

Ive had 2 crappy, not cooked enough eggs, a tin of tuna and mayo, a little bit of cottage cheese and a babybel.
I feel ok.
Going to my in laws this eve for a roast so i'll just have the meat and some vegetables.

I realised earlier i haven't eaten a single piece of fruit or veg in 6 days.
so not like me.

wish i could be outside on a day like today, it looks gorgeous.

ihatethecold · 08/05/2016 15:03

sorry seaside not KP Blush

ihatethecold · 08/05/2016 15:04

got my 2 mumsnet friends mixed up! Grin

seasidesally · 08/05/2016 15:14

ha ha thats ok,cant say im looking forward to the dentist now Smile

KP86 · 08/05/2016 19:36

Mmmm, Mars Bars. I would be jealous but I'm really not impressed by UK chocolate. The same versions of everything back in Australia taste much better (to me). Which is handy, because I could eat a whole block of choc in one sitting (and did so white often) but since moving here I haven't really bought much as it doesn't taste the same.

I will confess to a half smartie cookie at work today, but I still managed to keep to 21-22g carbs by adjusting dinner plans.

I hope you are still feeling ok tonight ihatethecold, and your bland diet plan is working.

B: 2 eggs, bacon, mushrooms
L: Thai chicken soup and slim noodles
AT: half a smartie cookie Blush
D: Keto pumpkin carbonara and SF ginger beer
Snack: might have some SF jelly or pork scratchings. Lots of cal left for the day but no carbs so need to be careful if I want something later.

Activity: working on my feet all day

I've been drinking lots of water and tea again, almost at 2L. Woot! I know it's meant to be more but slowly improving.

Carbs: 21-22g

seasidesally · 09/05/2016 13:36

well pretty good day so far, dentist again tomorrow to repair tooth but the shock was weighing myself at Boots (always take their figures not home one's) i have lost 3lb in 6 days

how i will never know as i had a good few cheats last weekend and started my period Saturday

funny thing is i feel a bit tubby today

im sure my body hasnt taken into account the Mars bars yet but even so there were to many cheats or so i thought for a decent if at all loss

maybe its all that work in the garden as it was very physical

sorry to crow but people in real life dont really get LC and dont realise how hard it is sometimes,i know you ladies do

total loss since start 11.3 kg or 1stone 10.9 lb

ihatethecold · 09/05/2016 13:44

That's excellent Sally.
Well done.

seasidesally · 09/05/2016 14:00

thank you,how are you feeling now ??

KP86 · 09/05/2016 15:25

Great work Sally!

It's still calories in vs calories out and you've been doing a lot of work around home so it's not surprising at all you've still lost weight.

The thing that I've realised about LCHF is not that it necessarily causes you to lose weight but rather it helps you to not feel hungry so you don't overeat and therefore you have a calorie deficit and lose weight naturally.

You are doing so well, keep it up :)

seasidesally · 09/05/2016 15:56

thanks,very true

that seem's the case i think i will be looking for a labouring job Grin

seasidesally · 09/05/2016 16:20

right im starving so going to have my tea early as dont want to pick

trying a red pepper stuffed with 2 small tins of tuna and mixed with 1 tbs mayo ven baked

then a layer of cheddar on top melted in the oven

the pepper is 6 carbs but the rest 0

KP86 · 09/05/2016 16:28

That sounds nice.

I've 'freestyled' tonight's dinner (DH's word for when I make something up and don't follow a recipe - usually a 50/50 success rate), we are having little muffin sized meatloafs with 500g pork mince, a couple of small carrots, about 50g pumpkin purée, about 50g grated mozzarella, 30g almond meal and a few herbs, S&P. I laid a piece of streaky bacon across the muffin tray and then put a small handful of mixture in and wrapped the bacon over the top. It made enough for 18 muffins but I only have a 12 spot tray so put the rest into a single serve casserole dish. I'm looking forward to trying them! I'll serve with steamed asparagus and broccoli on the side.

KP86 · 09/05/2016 16:39

Here they are! Each one is about 1/3 to half a cup in size.

Anyone starting today who wants to keep me company?
