New Year Low Carb Bootcamp starts on 13 January!

This is just to let you know that the next low carb Bootcamp will be starting on Monday 13 January. As before, it will last for 10 weeks, with the first two weeks being the strictest.

Tricky I'm going to whisper this, but I have milk in my tea. I've been on BIWI's WOE since last May and dropped 2 dress sizes. Giving up a proper cup of tea was a step too far for me. I figured at least I was no longer having a biscuit or 5 with it! Despite the milk, its worked for me. Maybe it took longer, who knows, but at least I could stick with it!

Kefy another breakfast option, I hear some people make breakfast muffins (with almond flour?) that you could take to work. Can anyone dig out a recipe?

Thanks for the replies! Think will keep having milk in tea, but am struggling to fit in my regular 'dose' with all the water! Carb flu today, so it may be working!!!

If you have full fat milk, then you only need a mere splash to change the colour. I can drink black tea but prefer with milk, but as I drink so much water I tend to have just a couple if cups a day. You are supposed to have cream but as I really prefer skimmed milk in yea, this is a bridge too far.

I am all cheesed and wined out after Christmas. Boo. I think a lovely curry beckons. What kind of wonderful diet lets you eat curry with veg on a Friday ? How wonderful. Cheers. ( water of course! )

breakfast muffins Last time round I used the IPD recipe for egg and sausage muffins, it didn't have almond flour, I think it was eggs, cream, water and grated cheese. I'd make it in a lasagne dish and have a wedge when I got up and take a couple to work as you can eat it hot or cold and it was much easier than trying to peel off paper muffin cases. I'll try and find the recipe book unless I returned it to its rightful owner and post the quantities - there was plenty for Mon-Fri breakfasts.

We've got ten tonnes of cheese left from Christmas, DH makes great cheesy low carb snack thingie (just melted cheese) and we rely on them to get us through the initial few days. Just as well.

I spoke to my doctor about my blood pressure meds and since we are constantly reviewing the readings/dosage to try and get me off them, she's happy for me to do Bootcamp - yay!
Soft start here, all meals today have been low carb and I've given away all my Christmas chocs to DP. However I have had a slice of Christmas cake and a lager and I might have the last bit of Christmas pudding too

I've had total yoghurt and 2 boiled eggs for breakfast, tuna mayo with spinach and cucumber for lunch and dinner is marinaded salmon with courgette pasta and broccoli.

Want to lose 1 it 1.5 stones (depends how i look). Store it all round my middle and I want to be healthier too.

Sorry if I have missed the info (have read the thread but am knackered!) but if using MFP what % fat/protein/carbs should I set and what calorie level?

I love eggs and will probably have them a couple of times a week. However I have high cholesterol (had it all my life - runs in the family) and I am a bit concerned about eating too many eggs and full fat meat and cheese. What is the verdict? Has anyone with a similar medical issue tried the bootcamp before and what happened to their cholesterol levels?

Kefy, a lot of recent research says high good fats do not cause cholesterol problems. That has been the biggest myth of the last 40 years which has destroyed the health of the nation that people should not eat good fats and instead eat a lot of carbs. Arguably it has killed many people.

I really love the 'crunchy' salad mixes that all the supermarkets sell - cabbage, carrot and lettuce. The Tesco one is 3.4g of carbs per 100g with 1.9g of fibre.

Is that too much? I eat near on a bag some days which is 370g.

I'm now having it with a lemon juice (1 dessert spoon) and o.oil (3 dessert spoons) dressing to up the fat levels.

In addition my other weakness is NLY - this is a no no in bootcamp isn't it? I prefer Yeo Valley NLY which has Carbohydrate: Typical values per 150g serving: 9.8g. Is that too high for bootcamp light?
