Slimming World to Harcombe?

FourArms · 02/12/2013 11:30

I've been doing SW since 29/8. Initially on EE and now mainly on red days.

However although I've lost 1lb short of 2
stone I haven't lost any weight this week and I've stuck to the plan with the exception of maybe not enough syns / HEB.

Have seen the Harcombe diet and this seems to be more like what I'm doing at the moment although I'll have to swap coffee and skimmed milk for herbal tea and stop my 10 a day satsuma habit ;)

Just wondered what people's losses had been in phase 1 switching from SW? My BMI is still in the low 30s so I've got plenty to lose!

Sorry, I forgot, I had some of dh's Bakewell tart too.

kazzawazzawoo · 06/05/2014 20:16

Yes I'm the same with chocolate. I'd put the leftover chocolate in the garage, so I wouldn't be tempted, but still went and got some yesterday. Anyway, it's gone now.

Well done you, pouring the wine away.

I hate feeling so weak Sad

I really want to lose those 12 lbs, so will get back on track now.

Doshusallie · 07/05/2014 11:00

just had my pork scratchings delivered, had to scarf a pack straight away of course for quality control, yum yum!!

kazzawazzawoo · 07/05/2014 18:23

Mine haven't arrived Sad

Today I had tomato and goat cheese omelette for breakfast, hm soup and salad for lunch, snack of some almonds and some corned beef (I was starving) and for dinner we're having belly pork and swede.

Doshusallie · 07/05/2014 18:34

Boiled eggs

Posh scratchings

Salad with spinach leaves, cucumber, celery, smoked salmon

Tea will be salmon fillets with courgettes and asparagus.

No booze or nuts despite being at my dad's where I ALWAYS drink gin and eat nuts.

kazzawazzawoo · 07/05/2014 19:30

So what do you think of the posh scratchings?

kazzawazzawoo · 07/05/2014 19:32

Well done btw on resisting booze and nuts Smile

I've had a stinking headache all day Sad which might have contributed to me eating so much. What I really wanted was a pack of biscuits!

Doshusallie · 07/05/2014 19:41

Poor you. Sad. Water?

I thought they were scrummy!!!!

kazzawazzawoo · 07/05/2014 20:30

Yes, I probably need to drink lots of water. Will get a mug of warm water with a squeeze of lemon in a minute.

Looking forward to receiving the posh scratchings soon - I hope!

kazzawazzawoo · 08/05/2014 17:21

Feeling absolutely awful today, which has stopped me eating as much at least!

b- omelette
l- a little fried mashed swede
d- roast chicken with roast parsnips and cauliflower

Doshusallie · 08/05/2014 17:41

Sorry to hear that kazza....have you got a bug?? Sad

kazzawazzawoo · 08/05/2014 18:05

I think it must be a bug-or a bad reaction to the wheat I had Tuesday.

Doshusallie · 08/05/2014 19:06

Hard boiled eggs
Huge salad - spinach leaves, lettuce, cucumber, celery, olives, tinned mackerel - followed by nly with seeds. Was stuffed!!
Tea so far has been a bit of a graze....pork scratchings, boiled egg, two slices of salami, two celery sticks loaded with pate, and will have 3 Heck sausages when cooked. And then hopefully stop eating!!

Lots of water, several decaf coffees, 2 decaf teas with splash of skimmed milk

I hope you feel better soon. Thanks

kazzawazzawoo · 08/05/2014 19:32

Thanks Smile I have eaten dinner but still feel rubbish. Can't wait to go to bed!

kazzawazzawoo · 09/05/2014 18:34

Feel a little better today and made it into work. I had half an omelette for breakfast, chicken soup for lunch and we're having stew with swede for dinner.

I'm going to do another 5 days of phase 1 in the hope that my stomach will calm down.

Doshusallie · 09/05/2014 18:58

Good news kazza. What do you do for a living?

I had a day in London today.

Had a bowl of nly with seeds for brekkie
Pkt poshies and 2 eggs on the train home (not a good way to make friends)
Have had nuts and gin since I got home, no idea what's for dinner, might not bother.

Did a weigh in on the scales in boots at Waterloo this morning. It calculates your weight, height, bmi, body fat etc. everything seems to be fine, but I do want to drop a few pounds. I am phase 1 all week, and then allow myself alcohol and nuts on the weekend. You gotta live right?? I never eat chocolate or sugar in that form anyway.

kazzawazzawoo · 09/05/2014 19:44

Yes, agree, you've still got to have a life.

I'm sales negotiator for an estate agent for my sins Wink I only work 3.5 days, but also provide holiday and sickness cover.I've only been there a year and a bit, but can't believe how rude people are to us. I know some estate agencies give us a bad reputation, but I try to always be honest with people and do my job to the best of my ability. It makes me laugh when people say on mn that estate agent charge ridiculously high fees.I have honestly never worked so hard in my life, we never stop and there is so much to do.

Sorry, rant over Grin

What do you do for a living?

Doshusallie · 09/05/2014 20:47

ooh the world of estate agents. Yes I can only imagine the brunt of what you have to deal with.

I am a sales person for a company that provide testing services. Example - met with river island today....they have a system that runs all their warehouses and IT that organises what products get picked and put onto pallets and sent to stores. We would help them test that the software they use for that works, scales, still works when they make changes to it etc. I sell people that test. Which kind of makes me a pimp. Grin

kazzawazzawoo · 09/05/2014 21:21

Lol Grin So do you travel a lot? How does that fit with family life?

A lot of people are very rude, unfriendly right from the outset, just presuming as we are an estate agency we must be scum! It gets me down sometimes. I need to be thick skinned.

Doshusallie · 09/05/2014 22:15

Estate agents do have a bad reputations. I guess you get all the shit when it's going slowly/wrong but none of the credit when it works out.

Not much far flung travel, had much more in previous jobs, on the road a fair bit during the day but do manage to fit in taking kids to school before having meetings and have a childminder for pick ups. Work at home when I don't have meetings so that helps. Do find I eat much more when I am at home a lot though.

Have ended up eating a huge bowl of chicken curry made by DH, made with a curry sauce from a jar so probably full of sugar, peas and broad beans added. Have pretty much written off this evening though, so not too bothered.

Doshusallie · 09/05/2014 22:16

What age are your children? I have two boys, 7 and 9....

kazzawazzawoo · 10/05/2014 09:44

Yes, we get all the crap, when actually it's always the solicitors that hold things up. Once we've agreed a sale it's more or less out of our hands, but no one seems to know that! So a lot of our time is spent chasing solicitors, asking them to do their job! Grrrrr...

My children are older, eldest dd is 26 and has left home, ds is 22 and still at home, ydd is 13.

Until last year I worked from home, taking on typing work. Then I decided ydd was old enough and I needed something more and a more reliable income, so found this job last February.

kazzawazzawoo · 10/05/2014 19:05

Today I had omelette for breakfast, bacon and eggs for lunch and cottage pie made with swede for dinner and a snack of a few almonds.

Doshusallie · 10/05/2014 19:55

Evening kazza.

I am so rubbish at weekends booze wise. And nut wise.

I have had:

2 boiled eggs
Big green salad with sardines
Have had pork scratchings and nuts and wine this evening.

Pork belly in on the menu for tonight, prob won't bother with veg.

Have you had a nice day?

kazzawazzawoo · 10/05/2014 20:06

Not a bad day thanks. I feel much better. Worked til one. This afternoon a friend came round for a coffee and a chat. Then dd has been playing with her friend. Dh and I have been watching episodes of Friends Blush

Have you got anything nice planned?

We're just watching Eurovision- I quite like Graham Norton's commentary Blush
