Slimming World to Harcombe?

I've been doing SW since 29/8. Initially on EE and now mainly on red days.

However although I've lost 1lb short of 2
stone I haven't lost any weight this week and I've stuck to the plan with the exception of maybe not enough syns / HEB.

Have seen the Harcombe diet and this seems to be more like what I'm doing at the moment although I'll have to swap coffee and skimmed milk for herbal tea and stop my 10 a day satsuma habit ;)

Just wondered what people's losses had been in phase 1 switching from SW? My BMI is still in the low 30s so I've got plenty to lose!

It is a big bowl of porridge, again I used the amounts that zoe harcombe uses.

Have gained two pounds this week so am well pissed off this morning. Too much dairy I think. ANNOYING.COM.

kazzawazzawoo · 19/04/2014 10:04

Oh no! It might be natural fluctuation.?

I had porridge this morning made with half water half milk with a few raspberries, but didn't enjoy it Sad

kazzawazzawoo · 21/04/2014 18:53

There' s been too much chocolate in our house this weekend and I have been weak. Sad

So from tomorrow I am going back to phase 1 to get back on track.

Today I had bacon and eggs for late breakfast, finished off chocolate for lunch, had bolognese for dinner with salad.

Doshusallie · 21/04/2014 19:09

Thankfully I have no problem resisting chocolate, as there is a mountain of it here.

Food has been pretty good all weekend tbh, but I have drunk oceans of wine....

Porridge with water for breakfast
Celery, lettuce, cucumber, baby toms with two hard boiled eggs and a tin of mackerel for lunch
Pkt hog bites
Huge bowl of buttery cabbage with sprouts and two salmon fillets for tea.

Am cutting down on dairy this week and not drinking....

kazzawazzawoo · 21/04/2014 19:30

Well done Smile

Chocolate is definitely my weakness Sad I'm even eating the cheap sweet Cadburys stuff. Will knock it on the head from tomorrow morning though.

Doshusallie · 21/04/2014 19:39

Say well done if I manage to get to Friday with no booze....

kazzawazzawoo · 21/04/2014 19:41
Wink
kazzawazzawoo · 22/04/2014 19:39

Good start to phase 1 for me.

B: bacon and eggs
L: HM chicken soup and salad with HM mayo
D: roast chicken, roast parsnips and mashed swede
5 decaf coffees so far. Tonight I'll drink warm water with a squeeze of lemon.

Doshusallie · 22/04/2014 20:39

Evening Kazza.

I am doing phase 1 too....apart from a couple of slip ups....

B: NLY with some sunflower seeds
L: an EAT tuna salad, I left the potatoes. Also had two hard boiled eggs.
Pkt a Hog Bites when I got in, as starving (1st slip up, should have just had another egg)
T: 3 roasted chicken thighs, with steamed sprouts and courgettes, with butter, a few mushrooms.
2 large glasses of slimline tonic (2nd slip up, but how bad can it be?)
3 decaf coffees, 1 decaf tea

Feel knackered for some reason! Residual tiredness from the weekend I guess....

kazzawazzawoo · 22/04/2014 21:01

Just tonic without gin? I wouldn't think it would be to bad.

Pork scratchings aren't too bad either, I imagine. They allow them on low carb diets.

Doshusallie · 22/04/2014 21:43

Yes I thought if I had to have a couple of indiscretions they weren't the worst I could have!!!

kazzawazzawoo · 22/04/2014 22:16

Good choices Smile I'm having a hard boiled egg as a snack.

RosinaCopper · 23/04/2014 09:37

Hi Kazza and Doshusallie,

I'm back at 148lb, and did end up going to the family party heavier than ever despite saying a few weeks back that I didn't want that to happen! I am half way through the 30 day shred, though, and have done that religiously every morning since I started, so I feel a teeny bit better about myself than perhaps I would do if I hadn't. I must surely be fitter than I was?

But I have zero willpower. I intended to start phase 1 again today, but then had a piece of toast and a handful of cheerios as that was what the dcs were having. I wish I wasn't so weak willed. I'll start with a harcombe lunch of ham salad though and try and make the right food choices for the rest of the day.

kazzawazzawoo · 23/04/2014 09:41

It's so hard when we're surrounded by carbs and sugary things, isn't it? I've been eating far too much chocolate recently. I hope you manage to stay on track Smile

Doshusallie · 23/04/2014 10:42

Hi Rosina!

I was on the low carb bootcamp threads for a long time.

Some of the oft-repeated mantras on there that helped me were:

These are the things that I eat. These are the things that I don't eat. Simple as that.

and

I know what [insert whatever it is you know you shouldn't put in your mouth] that tastes like - I have had it before - I will at some point have it again in my life - so I don't need to have it now. It will make me feel bad, it won't taste as nice as I think it is going to and it will derail all my efforts so far.

By the way, sugar is not my problem per se - my nemesises are nuts, and booooooooooozzzzze.....

Well done on the shred - that is hardcore. I have been to the gym this morning.

kazzawazzawoo · 23/04/2014 18:52

Today's been ok too, although I was hungry this afternoon.

B- bacon, eggs and fried mashed swede
L- HM chicken soup and salad
D- cottage pie made with swede, and leeks.

4 mugs black decaf coffee, 1 mug water with lemon, more to follow!

Doshusallie · 23/04/2014 19:33

B = 2 hard boiled eggs
L = big salad with mackerel and two more eggs! olive oil as a dressing
Tea = just cooking now, salmon steaks, buttery leeks and mushrooms (I don't have candida)

Lots of decaf coffee and tea, slimline tonic, hog bites for snack.

Doshusallie · 24/04/2014 19:56

Evening.

B- 2 hard boiled eggs
L- huge salad with tuna, nly with sunflower seeds
T- broccoli and leeks fried in olive oil, garlic and chilli flakes, and 2 pork chops, 2 spoons of nly

Pit of pork scratchings, lots of water and decaf coffee

Doshusallie · 24/04/2014 19:57

This is day 4 of no booze, which is unheard of for me. Can't remember the last time I have gone so long without a drink....

kazzawazzawoo · 24/04/2014 21:01

Hello Smile

You're doing well Smile

B- bacon, eggs and fried tomato
L- corned beef with salad and HM mayo
D- belly pork, mashed swede, roast parsnips
Lots of black decaf coffee and water with lemon

Doshusallie · 24/04/2014 21:07

You are too kazza. How are you feeling?

Your homemade soup sounds nice, can you tell me how you make it please?

kazzawazzawoo · 24/04/2014 22:59

I'm actually feeling fine Smile

The soup is easy. I make stock by boiling up the carcass from our roast chicken with an onion and some herbs. Then I drain the stock, add some chopped carrot, half of the onion that was in the stock, a kleek, 2 sticks of celery, any veg I have around, sometimes frozen green beans, salt and pepper, mixed herbs, boil for an hour, then use a stick blender or ordinary blender to liquidise-I try to leave some veg chunks. Then add the left over chicken you've stripped from the carcass, cut into small pieces. and heat through.

I freeze it in portions and take it to work in my flask Smile

kazzawazzawoo · 24/04/2014 23:00

A leek, not a kleek!

kazzawazzawoo · 25/04/2014 08:12

You could of course use a stock cube instead of fresh chicken stock.

Doshusallie · 25/04/2014 11:25

thanks a lot Kaz I'm going to make that today. So I should cook the chicken before I add it to the veg?

Will have to use stock cube.
