The other thread was almost full, so here's a bright, shiny new one.

And here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And just in case you haven't discovered it yet, here is the recipe thread. Some truly lovely recipes on here that are worth a try.

Forgot to have breakfastHmmHmm

Lunch was chicken and cream cheese salad with coleslaw.

Dinner was panfried chicken with crispy sage and butter with broccoli and cauliflower cheese.

Water.

TheRedRabbit · 03/09/2013 22:02

Just checking in to post my meals, seems to help me stay on track!

B: scrambled eggs with butter

L: rocket with olive oil dressing, one tomato and lots of ricotta cheese (that's allowed isn't it?)

S: chunk of cheese

D: prawn, spinach and coconut curry, 2 squares chocolate

And lots of decaf coffee with cream but definitely not enough water...find it so hard.

Purple2012 · 04/09/2013 07:40

Im a bit shocked. I have lost 3.4lb since last Wednesday and I have only been low carbing since Saturday. Im really pleased.

captainmummy · 04/09/2013 08:29

Purple - onwards and downwards! Well done!

Purple2012 · 04/09/2013 08:56

Thanks captain I can't believe how much I lost as I haven't low carbed all week. Hoping for a good loss next week when ive had a whole week of low carbing.

Can you eat flavoured yoghurt? I'd like to stop eating nuts but as I have plain yoghurt for breakfast I need something in it. Still can't eat the full fat yoghurt though.

LilyAmaryllis · 04/09/2013 09:51

Purple once you're past the first 2 weeks, on bootcamp light you can put berries (strawberries/ raspberries/ blackberries etc) in your yogurt and that is delicious.

Until then I've heard people mention cinnamon, or vanilla essence, as things you can flavour the yogurt with. I think you might have to check the label on vanilla essence as some brands contain carbs and others don't?

Oh the other thing is mixing some cream with your yogurt. Surprisingly delicious!

StuntNun · 04/09/2013 09:57

Well done Purple, seeing those scales shift downwards makes it all worthwhile especially when my kids are eating pizza!

Purple2012 · 04/09/2013 10:01

Thanks lily and stuntnun I think I will do boot camp for a bit longer than 2 weeks. I am going on holiday in 5 weeks with a very tiny friend and I want to feel as confident as possible. I am quite lucky that im not really a foodie so I don't mind eating the same thing day in day out.

captainmummy · 04/09/2013 13:23

Full fat yog would be better tho, purple. Reduced fat yog will have more carbs in it - and don't buy the fruit flavoured ones, they are way too carby.

Try the yog with vanilla extract or as lily says, cream!

QueenQueenie · 04/09/2013 13:49

Yes to that Purple. Total (full fat) greek yoghurt with some vanilla essence. is divine. Really!

BlackAffronted · 04/09/2013 18:33

Finding college very full on, so just checking in & getting ready to start Bootcamp next week!

Purple2012 · 04/09/2013 21:18

I added some full fat to my 0% fat yoghurt today. Maybe I can get used to it that way. When I had just thr full fat I couldn't eat it. But just looked at the carbs in the no fat one and its not good! Think I will have to come up with a different breakfast.

Ruprekt · 04/09/2013 21:54

B...boiled egg

L...chicken, egg and coleslaw with mayo

Water

D...sausages with broccoli cheese
Bowl ff yoghurt with extra thick dbl cream.....lovely! SmileSmile

Mouseface · 04/09/2013 22:10

Evening all

Today was pastry free quiche - whatever they are called, a small slice as that's all I had in for a rushed school breakfast and 1 pint of water..... oh, did I mention that Nemo is now at BIG BOY SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!! Grin And that tomorrow, after only 2 half days, he wants to do a full day?!!! Smile

Anyway -

L - chicken salad with mayo, hb egg and water x 2 pints.

D - prawns cooked in butter, garlic and shrooms, side salad and another pint of water.

S - strawberries x5 with d cream at about 2pm. Plus another pint of water. And 3 brazil nuts mid morning.

Looking forward to starting again fully on Monday at the new Bootcamp!!!

Weigh in Monday 9th? YAYAYAY, bring it on! Grin

Sorry to not have caught up, lots of support and love to you all :)

Night xxx

Purple2012 · 04/09/2013 22:47

Just checked the yoghurt. The 0% has 4.8g of carbs and the normal one has 6.6g of carbs per 100g.

prettybird · 04/09/2013 22:54

But the 0% yoghurt has no fat to make you feel satiated.

It's one of the basic principles of this WoE.

Purple2012 · 04/09/2013 23:33

Got home to find my 2 low carb recipe books. Had a quick look and there's loads of ideas.

Someone, I can't remember who said aim for 50g carbs or less. I have just worked out the carbs in my old healthy diet of calorie counting. For breakfast, lunch and snacks I was having over 250g of carbs every day. And that isn't including my evening meal. So I figure if I aim for around 40g with the food I cook or prepare I will be able to add salad and still be around the 50g mark. After years of weighing and measuring all my food I refuse to weigh salad! I will be having so much less carbs that I hope the weight will continue to come off. At the moment I have been looking at meals that are 5g or under. When I get through the first month I will then try adding a couple of higher carb meals.

I am shocked at how many carbs I was eating thinking it was good because I was calorie counting. Its certainly an eye opener and I am going to stick to this. I will have the occasional day off low carb for the odd treat. I still want to be able to have pasta or Domino's pizza, or cheese and onion pasty and chips but I won't do that until I have really got my low carb living something that comes naturally. Then I can enjoy the odd treat without worrying.

Im so glad I read these threads and decided to go with this WOE. Thank you.

Purple2012 · 04/09/2013 23:37

prettybird I am going to try and switch to full fat yoghurt but it may take some time to mix it with the 0% a bit more each time until I get used to the creamy taste. I can honestly say I dont feel hungry half way through the morning like I used to so its ok for now. Baby steps with the yoghurt I think

timidviper · 05/09/2013 00:38

I have just re-read the bootcamp rules and, woohoo, I have lost enough weight that I can drink half a litre less water! Another milestone!

Just need to get my arse in gear now...

BlackAffronted · 05/09/2013 07:11

Me too twinnie .....

captainmummy · 05/09/2013 08:29

Cheese and onion pasty and chips? Grin

Although I can honestly say, purple, that I really dont fancy that sort of thing any more. Wheat always bloated me out, although I didn't realise it. If i ate that now I would be like a painful balloon in 2 hours - and starving.

Well done Viper !!!

Purple2012 · 05/09/2013 09:40

I probably won't want it captainmummy but I need to know I can have it if I really want to. When I was counting calories I stopped craving stuff like that but because I knew if I really wanted something I could have it it kind of made it easier because it wasn't forbidden. I don't think there's any harm in having the odd treat if it's very occasional. I have spent years being embarrassed going out for meals because I was so fussy and a vegetarian. Im not going to be embarrassed anymore now I eat chicken and I don't want to be worrying about going somewhere with low carb meals and still be fussy and embarrassed.

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/09/2013 09:48

I agree purple-for me I strongly suspect that eating predominantly low carb is going to have to be forever (probable insulin resistance) but I am not going to ban myself from ever eating the carb heavy treats especially when eating out-although low carb eating out isn't too hard, I have to be able to do this for life and saying that I will never eat another pizza. ..not gonna happenWink

BIWI · 05/09/2013 09:56

Please just promise me that you won't do it during Bootcamp!

... because I can guarantee that if you do it will lead to lack of weight loss or even weight gain, and I don't want you moaning about it Grin

OP posts:
Purple2012 · 05/09/2013 10:10

God no, I certainly won't be doing it during boot camp. I am going to get to a weight I am happy with before I even consider having any higher carb foods. I honestly don't think I will want it anyway but a few months down the line I know if I really really want something like that I can do it.

Im not even going to do boot camp light for at least 6 weeks.
