The other thread was almost full, so here's a bright, shiny new one.

And here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And just in case you haven't discovered it yet, here is the recipe thread. Some truly lovely recipes on here that are worth a try.

Hey lovely Rup :)

I started off at 146lbs at the mid/end of July and I'm now at 139lbs. I feel amazing and I am so looking forward to Nemo my gorgeous SN DS starting mainstream school on Tuesday :)

Means more time for physio, and planning how I eat etc.... I am trying to get more active even though my drugs have increased for the pain. I know my limitations and if I'm careful, I can burn a few calories.

It's just the best ever, ever way of eating that I have ever come across. Afeckinmazing!! :)

So, how are you getting on lovely? Keep me posted!!

Right, I must go to watch tv with DH, so much to catch up on!

Well done Campers! Keep going! It's better than you can ever imagine, and that is coming from someone who thought being sober after drinking over 90 units a week and stopping was the most amazing thing too.......

Give this WOE a try, there is nothing to lose but weight and gaining better skin, a better mood, brighter days, sleeping better etc....... so much more than sluggish days, heavy belly, slow, fuggy wake ups.... Night shifts with Nemo are easier too... no groggy dragging myself out of bed, just up, to him and back to sleep :)

It's ALL GOOD!!

Night all xxx

PS - WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER AND THEN SOME MORE WATER!! :) xxx

Smile Mouse Smile I'm glad I pointed you in the direction of this thread, you're one of our most inspirational posters now! Grin

Well I had all these plans for a 'new season new me' start to September, and now I've decided to take DD to Cornwall for a little mini holiday with my mum and step-dad who are on hols there. The land of ice cream and cream teas, in a village with a spectacularly good fish and chip shop. D'oh. Confused

I reckon I'll need bootcamp by the time i get back from there!

By the way, for anyone who remembers the motorcycle accident I talked about a month or so ago... the lad took his first steps today. Smile He's been in a wheelchair and can't use crutches as both arms in plaster, but it's been six weeks and he managed to stand and take a couple of steps. I'm as proud as when DD learned to walk! Grin

BlackAffronted · 02/09/2013 07:25

Just checking in. Looking forward to BC starting on Monday, so that I am stricter with myself Shock

Purple2012 · 02/09/2013 07:40

Had a sneaky look on the scales this morning. 1.4lb off since Wednesday but I have only low carbed for the 2 days as I didn't start til Saturday so I am pleased. Proper weigh in on Wednesday.

StuntNun · 02/09/2013 09:19

TMI alert but can bread cause the trots when you're on a LC diet? DH and I both had a burger yesterday because there wasn't anything low carb where we were and had to eat the bun because it was expensive and otherwise we'd have been starving. This morning we're both a little bit 'off' iykwim and I'm wondering whether that's the effect of the bread.

WillieWaggledagger · 02/09/2013 09:39

almost certainly stuntnun. i find i can tolerate rice and potatoes if necessary (i.e. when i went to stay with friends and was given (delicious) potato soup and risotto), but wheat makes me feel horrible

loopyloou · 02/09/2013 15:08

Weighed myself this morning and I've put on half a stone, so looking forward to Bootcamp.

KinkyDorito · 02/09/2013 18:50

I'm really struggling to keep going with this. TMI Warning!! I've just finished my first week and I've had spotting for about 5 days which is now turning into a heavy bleed. The thing is, I am on the depo jab and I don't have periods. I've googled it and apparently it has happened to a lot of women on depo who are doing low carb.

It just makes me very nervous about why this is happening to my body. plus, it's a pain because I am supposed to be swimming regularly.

Feel fed up and wondering if it's worth it. Encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

StuntNun · 02/09/2013 19:57

Kinky if you're losing weight rapidly then it can case a temporary increase in oestrogen levels which in your case seems to be enough to cause breakthrough bleeding. After the first week or so your weight loss will slow down and your hormone production levels will adjust so things should go back to normal.

MrsHerculePoirot · 02/09/2013 20:08

kinky similar has happened to others on the low carb threads, some resolve very quickly, some have spotting for a bit longer, but all resolved and then felt much better! Stunt talks sense!

StuntNun · 02/09/2013 20:16

I vaguely recall it's something to do with oestrogen being stored in fat cells so it is released when weight is lost. But if you continue to lose weight then there is a negative feedback effect to reduce the production of oestrogen so that's why it balances out again.

On a completely different note I made cottage pie with swede instead of potato today and it was awesome. I actually liked it a lot more than normal cottage pie. I will definitely do that again. Unfortunately my kids were somewhat skeptical about it.

Ruprekt · 02/09/2013 21:22

B...poached eggs with coleslaw

L....went to Giraffe with boys and had a burger, no bun, but a few chips. Shock

Water, water

D....cream cheese pancakes and fruit tea

SmileSmile

BerylStreep · 02/09/2013 21:36

Gah, no inspiring food in the house, and cba to make anything.

Dinner was coleslaw, slice of ham and slice of cheese, followed by berries & cream.

DH away for the next 3 days, and DC being back at school is a PITA - the tyranny of getting schoolbags ready, getting out on time in the mornings, homework, dinner.

I have a feeling I always feel like this in September.

BIWI · 02/09/2013 22:03

Evening all!

Back from 4 lovely days in Bruges. You will not be surprised to know that they were not low carb days Grin.

But - major wow - lots of the chocolate shops over there are now making chocolates with Stevia. We bought a box of assorted chocolates to bring home, and they are absolutely fabulous. You really, genuinely wouldn't know that they didn't have sugar in them. Absolutely amazing.

I need to get my arse in gear for the rest of this week though, as I have definitely gained weight recently.

I shall post a thread tomorrow re planning for Bootcamp.

Fellow Boot Campers might like to be aware that MN is looking for testers for Whole Earth Peanut butter. Grin

KinkyDorito · 03/09/2013 05:58

Thanks Stunt and Mrs. I think I was feeling supremely fed up yesterday as I wasn't expecting it to go from spotting to heavy and it ended up causing an embarrassing incident at work... Blush

Strangely, I'm not even losing as fast as I would on other diets.

I know that on this WOE I feel better in myself and the soreness I feel in my stomach most of the time has gone. I also liked that I sat in meetings much of the day yesterday and my stomach didn't rumble once. That is a victory. I do want to try and stick with it.

Thanks Thanks

StuntNun · 03/09/2013 06:19

Kinky if you were on low fat low calorie diets then you could have been losing muscle mass as well. The low carb diets should preserve muscle mass so that you only lose fat.

Smalline · 03/09/2013 17:15

Hi everyone, just checking in, have more or less been eating what I like during the summer hols so am looking forward to BC next week, by the way has anyone tried hot marmite drink with butter, after reading the post about eating chunks of butter dipped in marmite I thought I would try it as a hot drink, it's lovely GrinGrinGrin

BerylStreep · 03/09/2013 18:05

Smalline that sounds good - do you whizz the butter into it (a la bullet proof coffee)? or just stir in a knob?

Smalline · 03/09/2013 18:10

just stir in a knob or two Smile

BIWI · 03/09/2013 18:19
