I had a hectic weekend with life tempting me into the wrong foods but have been good today so hope I am en route to getting rid of anything I had gained.

B: 2 boiled eggs mashed with butter and 2 chipolatas
L: I think I forgot! Shock
T: Salmon topped with M&S Langoustine tails in lemon mayonnaise, salad and homemade coleslaw.

Snack: 5 brazil nuts, 3 sugarfree sweets Blush

loopyloou · 26/06/2013 00:10

Well I've logged today's meals on MyFitnessPal for the first time. I had 20g carbs, 138g fat, 91g protein. How does that sound?

I had

B/ 4 rashers bacon, 1 fried egg, tsp home made mayo
L/ mini quiches(5), cucumber, cherry tomato, yellow pepper with oil dressing, small slice cheddar
D/ 2.5 x 97% meat sausages with buttered leeks and mushrooms fried in butter, tsp home made mayo
4 decaff coffees, 5 glasses water

Hello all
Lordy, this thread has moved fast again. Been trying to read through it all and want to respond to so many of you then forget who said what by the time I've scrolled through the pages!
Chipping - sending you Flowers and hugs. I've lost my dad, too, and know how it feels. Someone once said to me, you never quite get over losing a parent when you've been close, you just learn to live with it and I think that's true. Be kind to yourself and give yourself time to grieve. Everyone seems to be expected to move on so fast in our crazy world and it's not always helpful.

Well, I've been (to use a phrase from an earlier thread) a sugary twat, despite my vow to get back on the wagon on Monday. I was fine most of each day then gave in to a big spoonful of nutella last night so I've got to defeat those damn carb cravings all over again.
Black - know you were struggling a while back and I glibly posted on some advice, which was probably rubbish. Did you manage to do it (haven't seen a post for a while)? And how?

Anyway, a new day. Working at home so a going to do GM Shred to kick start my day.
Over 50 like BIWI and Pretty (waves) so harder maybe to shift weight BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE (!?)
Meal plan:
B scrambled eggs and mushrooms
L tuna mayo lettuce wraps
D lamb chops (with fat), celeriac mash with butter and buttered brocolli
S if needed - will try those celeriac crisps

BerylStreep · 26/06/2013 08:46

Morning.

I am about to try my first ever bullet proof coffee.

Will report back once I have had it.

NobodyPutsMyBabyInTheCorner · 26/06/2013 08:56

Pretty- well done you look fab, my aim is to get into three figures too. I have seven weeks to get to this goes and have 6lbs to go!

Chipping- I'm so sorry about your Dad Flowers

Beryl- let me know what happens, I still haven't got the balls to do that yet...

BIWI- I did your survey and love your bootcamps, I've always lurked but really got into this one- albeit from week 7 Smile I can really see this being my normal WOE and have convinced a few friends to try LCing.

Can anyone help me with a little question please?
Dairy, so far, hasn't slowed down any weight loss, but I wondering how much cream, cheese, butter and yogurt should I be having per day.

BerylStreep · 26/06/2013 09:02

MMMMMMmmmm!

Surprisingly good. Sitting enjoying it as I type.

I wasn't sure about quantities, so I did 2/3 of a cup of coffee (from my Nespresso machine), 2 large heaped teaspoons of coconut oil, and about double again of unsalted butter.

I can't really advise on the diary front - I eat faaar too much of it.

maidofmuss · 26/06/2013 09:19

Just done shred, yea!
Still not sure about bulletproof coffee - will jot down your quantities though Beryl in case ever brave enough!
I'm not sure about dairy, either, nobody Think I definitely slow down if I start eating too much cheese and cream... suspect it's trial and error, depending on how active we all are/how much we have to lose...

Maid, I just had to steel myself to get past the first 3 days when cravings were high ... I failed on day 2 or 3 so amy times until I finally got past it :) Meal planning essential, and making sure there are plenty of snacks for the first week back on it, as I had my old hunger back.

prettybird · 26/06/2013 09:49

I've just run out of coconut oil so must remember to get some more.

I really should try a bullet proof coffee. I have a fear of dementia/brain related problems and I've read that coconut oil is good for the brain (my mum died last year from a dementia triggered by a brain injury which can happen in some people Sad).

Mum would have loved the success I've had with this diet and would have loved to try it herself, although might have struggled to get Dad (cynical doctor, very much in the "calories in, calories out/eat less, exercise more" mold) to buy in to it. Smile. I can remember her complaining about the difficulty of losing weight as she went through the menopause. She even contemplated giving up alcohol! ShockGrin

Like Chipping, I really miss not having her around (she might only have died last year, but we "lost" her 4-7 years ago - got her back nearly for a wee while before the brain's "healing" process turned into destroying Sad) even though my Dad is still hale and hearty as mum should have been if she'd not had the cycling accident He had better fulfill his genetic heritage and last at least another 10 years if not more Grin

CrabbyBigBottom · 26/06/2013 10:32

Yesterday's food:
B- raspberries and clotted cream
L- burrata, tomatoes, parma ham
D- courgette 'pappardelle' with salmon, prawns, shallot and spinach, in a buttery cream sauce
P - strawberries and clotted cream

1lb on this morning. I think I've been eating too many berries and clotted cream. Sad

NewStartNewStory · 26/06/2013 10:40

I had a sneaky stand on the scales as I know tom is due to appear this weekend. In two days of being strict I have shifted the 1kg i put back on. Bye bye glycogen stores, bye bye retained water. Now to get that weight to be a loss rather then a return to a previous weight...

Breakfast: 3 cups of coffee Blush struggling to get going this morning, 1 mini baby bel, and 2 eggs scramble in a good dollop of butter.

Got 11hrs sleep last night. sleep deprivation is starting to catch up with me. Hopefully a few more early nights and i will feel better when i wake up in the mornings doesn't hold breath

NewStartNewStory · 26/06/2013 10:43

Aw crabby :(

BIWI · 26/06/2013 10:43

Crabby - there is a lot of dairy going on there ...

maidofmuss · 26/06/2013 11:01

Thanks black ? will def get some non-carby snacks sorted then and steel myself!
I miss the way I felt before I slipped back into carb-mode Hmm

maidofmuss · 26/06/2013 11:07

I've read about the coconut oil/dementia prevention link, too pretty (My mum has been in a dementia unit now for about 5 years Sad) Have got myself a huge jar but haven't yet started to use it. Thinking it would be good in a stir fry ? did try a teaspoonful from the jar but was a bit sickly

I wish i could persuade dm to have some, she is starting to show signs she is going to go down the same route as a number of family members into dementia. Hoping it is stress but her family's history is strong. :(

I might just try this myself, could it help reduce the effect of fibro fog?

captainmummy · 26/06/2013 11:57

Kotinka - I'd probably curry that lot. CHop aubs and mushrooms and fry in butter until sealed. Chuck in a jar of curry or some paste.

I dontmake bulletproof coffee like that , i find it slicks my moiuth too much. I use ordinary coffee, some cream, and a spoon of coconut oil. I don't even wizz it up; I have black tea with coconut oil in every morning for breakfsat and like the oil on the top!

kiwigirl42 · 26/06/2013 12:03

morning guys, sorry for absence - been in bed since Friday with usual crap migraines. Mainly been living on greek yogurt/ double cream unfortunately.

Managed to surface long enough to make a lovely pork curry on Monday - chunks of pork shoulder chops, curry paste (Massaman is my fav.), coconut milk/ cream, aubergine and spinach. It was yum. The aubergine almost dissolved and it was delicious. Really finding frozen chopped spinach useful.

maidofmuss · 26/06/2013 12:34

Sorry about the migraine Kiwi - sounds awful.
I'd second the curry Kotinka If you don't have any curry/paste but you'd got a few spices, then suggest you add a teaspoon of paprika and one of garam masala and bung in an onion if you've got one and possible a couple of tablespoons of tomato puree Could also make a raita if you're eating yoghurt (mix with half a cucumber with maybe 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin)

maidofmuss · 26/06/2013 12:45

... or you could do stuffed aubergines. Halve aubergines lengthways but leave on stalks to hold together. Scrape out pulpy bits (leaving around 1cm at cut end). Brush with olive oil and bake for 15 mins or so to soften. Meanwhile, mix and fry chopped mushrooms, a finely-chopped shallot, chopped garlic clove and herbs if you've got them. Season and heap mixture onto aubergine haves and give them another 15-20 mins. Good sprinkled with crumbled feta and toasted pine nuts if you're doing BL (but only add to top in last 5-10 mins) Oven around 190 C.

milliemoomay · 26/06/2013 13:17

Oh well.. sts but considering that I partied over the weekend, that's not too bad! I really wanted to knock off a couple more lbs before Sunday - it's my birthday and I had a target in mind.

I was going to go to my vinyasa flow yoga class today, but I can barely stand. It's a crap reason so don't feel sorry for me - I hurt my feet from wearing high heels all weekend and trying to dance in them for hours (more like a shuffle!). They actually started to bleed Blush

I dunno how Victoria Beckham et al. do it. They must have minions to massage their feet daily.

No dairy for the rest of this week and lots more water. That should help.

I'm going to try kiwi's pork curry recipe - sounds divine. Hope your migraine has subsided, kiwi?
