Morning all.

Come and fill in the spreadsheet

Only two weeks to go before we finish this challenge. Time to drop a few more pounds!

But go easy with those strawberries ...

I'm very pleased with my first week of Bootcamp Light as I have lost 6 lb even with a few slip up and cheats along the way. DH is away this week so I'm going to be really strict as without him here I can eat whatever time I want rather than scheduling around his working hours. In two weeks I'll be on holiday so I want to have good progress by then since I'll be at the mercy of other people's cooking.

Yesterday was B: strawberries and Greek yoghurt
S: 16 almonds
L: bacon, LC sausage, mushrooms
D: cod baked in butter and double cream with buttered baby leeks and buttered broccoli
S: spare ribs in barbecue sauce from the Chinese takeaway - probably the cause of my slight gain since yesterday Blush

Welcome, loopy - why not just jump in and join us now? We will all still be here after the ten weeks has finished!

bullet - I'm not sufficiently up on things like that to really answer you properly, but I would imagine that the more intense your workout, the more energy you will need, therefore the more you can hope to access your glycogen stores. So some HIIT would probably be good. I do HIIT various on the bike, the cross trainer and the rower - and find it definitely more 'draining' on the cross trainer.

Biwi - awesome, I'll do a full body weights sesh (deadlifts, squats, clean and press that kinda thing) and some hiit on the cross trainer.
I have some pork Thai curry for my dinner afterwards, I might roast some broccoli to go with it. Gonna have a salad with chicken and chorizo for lunch.
Hopefully I'll be back in keto by the morning. 1.5l of water down so far.

Thanks kotinka :) I didn't know that. One of the many and varied reasons I love lifting is the 'afterburn' effect but that is fat burning.

Today's meals:

B piece cheese and few slices salami
S 20g peanuts
L rest of last nights fajita mix (no wrap) with grates cheese, salsa and a muffin crustless quiche plus 80g lidl yog and a couple tsp berries
D BIWIs sausage and roast veg mix - might make it slightly more ratatouille like with tomatoes and garlic

Made 12 mini crustless quiches in a fairy cake tin so will have some for lunchbox tomorrow with salad.

Thanks for the new thread BIWI!

Went to my party on Saturday night - carbs and much booze was had. But I feel ok about it! Back on the wagon yesterday and all feels fine. Was worried it would plunge me into big carb craving zone but I seemed to have escaped that.

Will weigh in tomorrow as want to give self a fighting chance to limit the damage done.

Black - great news about your college course, well done!

Congratulations to all the losers this week too!

nobody - cut the celeriac up into batons (about 1cm thick chips), put in baking tray and liberally drizzle with olive oil. i try to make sure they have enough space - if they aren't well spread out on the baking tray they don't crisp up as well. then very hot oven for about 45 mins, checking and turning every so often as needed. sometimes they need longer to get nicely browned

they're nice sprinkled with paprika or curry powder or salt and pepper if you like it before you put them in the oven

That was a very interesting article Kotinka

Whoever (sorry can't scroll back) was saying about the hola hoop, i second getting a weighted one. I borrowed on recently at the insistence of a friend. I found that it kept itself going and was sooo much easier the the toy hoops that I had tried when I was a child. It was a pleasure rather then a chore to do. Highly recommend it.

Sleep was good. not enough but good. Have woken up ridiculously thirsty and just a little bit thirsty, will fix the food bit when i have done the school run and am getting ds his afternoon munchies. Child is going through a massive growth spurt atm. I swear I shall be getting neck ache from him being taller then me before he goes to high school.

I raid that article Kotinka - but at the back of my mind was the Andrew MArr interview I heard,. He was doing HIT and it was during this that he has his stroke/haemorrhage so he blames the 20second bursts !

Not trying to frighten anyone....

Signing in but not weighing, having a horrible back-into-ketosis-bleed :( so I am bloated and feeling crap. Doing fine with food though, and keeping the water flowing!

NewStartNewStory · 24/06/2013 16:58

what I would like to know is the level of activity before Andrew Marr started HIT. was he the sort of person who would do intensive exercise or not. I personally don't think the HIT caused the stroke but aggravated an existing problem. I do think that the body would find it a bit of a sudden shock to never been working at above 60%-70% to suddenly be make to work at the intensity required. I know when i was returning to exercise i needed to build up the intensity levels and still couldn't manage the levels required for HIT. But that is my personal opinion.

Feeling a little bug eyed but drunk a decaff coffee in order to get over the mental wish for a caffine boost (ie have the taste) without having the actual hit of caffine which will stop me sleeping later.

Late lunch of a salad and dollop of mayo was filing and stopped the normal 3pm need to pick.

Am thinking about the approach to food for tomo. Leftovers for tea tonight for the carb eaters (roast pork, veg and potatoes) don't fancy the meat without gravy and only have bisto which I am thinking is a big No No? So think i will do some cauliflower and some more buttered leeks and just pile a load of butter on the cauli to make up the fat quantities. Hoping that this is more along the lines of balance that I am aiming for??

Am going to be over on my water drinking and cut the coffees down to 2 normal plus one decaff.

A good start today. now to keep this up and actually see the scales shift some by the end of the week
