Morning all.

Come and fill in the spreadsheet

Only two weeks to go before we finish this challenge. Time to drop a few more pounds!

But go easy with those strawberries ...

Ok so I think I get it, will struggle a bit with breakfast. Do I just add myself to the spreadsheet, and I started my own version of low carb 4 weeks ago can I include my weight loss to date.

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/06/2013 11:56

shiny you will be fine - you can just add yourself that is fine. Why do you think you will struggle with breakfast? See if we can help...

shinybaubles · 27/06/2013 12:00

Really not a fan of eggs or dairy in general, I could probably manage eggs twice a week. But what about the other days?

captainmummy · 27/06/2013 12:03

Hi Shiny - most people struggle with 'breakfast', but that is because we are brought up to have a 'special' meal in the morning. cereals, Full english, toast, whatever. On the continent, and in other countries around the world, breakfast is the same as any other meal - rice, or leftovers from tea, or whatever is in the fridge/cupboard.

When i was staying with my BFF's family in Prague, i got up to a table laid with boiled sausages (from lastnights dinner), mash (ditto) and sauerkraut! It was fine and served with lots of hot coffee. Grin

My point is - eat what you have. Cook lots of boiled eggs, if you don't have time in the morning, altho I can do scrambled eggs in the microwave in under 2mins. (Though I think you dont eat eggs?)
Sooo, cook lots of bacon instead. Or mushrooms, or have cheese spread with marmite, or try one of those Bulletproof coffees that have pervaded this thread. One of those will keep you going till lunch!!!!!

shinybaubles · 27/06/2013 12:04

Oh what's a bulletproof coffee, I love coffee?

captainmummy · 27/06/2013 12:05

Sorry - Xpost!

FWIW, my breakfast today (I don't usually bother) was leftover mashed swede with a huge knob of butter, heated in microwave and with lots of pepper.

shinybaubles · 27/06/2013 12:07

I have been doing my version of low carb, but got told off by BIWI for eating digestives for breakfast, and pointed here.

maidofmuss · 27/06/2013 12:10

Grin PCM

captainmummy · 27/06/2013 12:10

Lol = no digestives here! Biscuits will knock you back out of ketosis straight away, esp if you are doing that every day.

For bulletproof coffee, read back a bit on this thread. Lots of coffee fans!

maidofmuss · 27/06/2013 12:12

(ie me copying blindly)
Someone will come along soon to tell you all about bulletproof coffee shiny I've not yet fancied the idea (though am big coffee drinker)

maidofmuss · 27/06/2013 12:13

cross post with captain ? yes, think there are a couple of recipes/versions if you scroll back through this thread

  • you whisk yr coffee with spoonful or two of coconut oil and butter.
shinybaubles · 27/06/2013 12:16

Oh no just had a look, think I will stick to my normal coffe. Maybe trying to run before I can walk with that. Thanks everyone.
Now something really embarassing how do I add my myself to the spreadsheet, what should I click on, don't want to mess it up for everyone.

Thanks kotinka- seems some kind person added me, although I think I have done something slightly wrong with the weight.Blush

BIWI · 27/06/2013 13:33

Hurrah! Welcome, shiny! Flowers

OP posts:
Negroni · 27/06/2013 14:11

Welcome Shiny!! - hmm sorry to hear about digestives. I would like digestives for breakfast too, just scared of BIWI's big stick!

Kotinka - sorry about computer. But on the upside you have bargain duck! Why can I never find fab bargains (sulks)

Mrs HP - your wisdom was right on the money. Yup following the rules really does work better than breaking them. Or even bending them (thinks about excessive portion of raspberries, blueberries and cream consumed last night).

WillieWaggledagger · 27/06/2013 14:12

welcome shiny - I can't see anything wrong with how you've entered your weight - have you lost 8lb to date?

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/06/2013 14:24

Negroni, yes for me I think I think I am bending the rules a little in my head, when really when I look at it properly I am frankly smashing them with a large hammer...

Willie can you reinstate me, I've been pants at logging my weight, but will go back and backdate it now.

WillieWaggledagger · 27/06/2013 14:25

you're back in there mrshp

Doshusallie · 27/06/2013 14:47

You know you are a low carber when:

You can neck a whole pint of water in 7 seconds flat in practically one gulp and think absolutely nothing of it (other than "must drink 5 more of those today")
You drive miles out of your way to get the lowest carb peanut butter and buy at least 4 jars
You become a pork scratchings connoisseur
Your family no longer look askance when you eat bolognese sauce/cold pork chops/leftover sausages for breakfast
You handover 1 million pounds at a garage to buy the only thing in there you can actually eat
Your husband resigns himself to never having pasta with anything ever again unless he can be bothered to cook it himself
You become known as "egg girl"
Diet coke is seen as a massive naughty "treat"
A caffeine coffee or tea blows your head off
Lidl is your supermarket of choice
You are an expert in making lettuce "sandwiches"

BlackAffronted · 27/06/2013 14:48

Beryl, the celeriac fondant recipe is on my blog but I cant link on my tablet. If you google Jen's place celeriac fondant, it will come up.

Thats the kids off on their summer holidays now, I think I am going to find this harder with them at home and going for days out Sad

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/06/2013 14:54

Dosh Grin that's ace!

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/06/2013 14:56

You add delicious salted butter to about every single thing you eat.
