Oops posted too soon.

Brilliant Kiwi well done!

Thanks Koti am taking a multivitamin and osteocare calcium and magnesium every day, and some days take a selenium, B complex and extra vit C.

maidofmuss · 27/06/2013 08:57

Wow Kiwigirl well done you, that's amazing.
Do hope you're feeling better today Crabby - can you post your blog link again when you've a sec (am being very lazy) for weekend inspiration Smile
Well the superglue worked Chipping ? back on bootcamp yesterday apart from 4 walnuts so will really try to keep on track today and MUST drink much more water, too.
Cider I loved the tiny bar of 100% chocolate I bought a week or so ago ? was quite grainy and rich and, when I was in the zone, I made it last a week without undue effort. Know I'm better not having any in the house at the moment though when I'm back trying to fight carb cravings all over again Sad
Today's food will be:
B eggs (working at home again so may be B/L)
L tuna mayo with chopped cucumber in lettuce wraps
D tbc ? lamb chop or chicken fried in butter with cauli (rice or oven-baked) and broccoli in butter
Coffee (not bulletproof) in hand....
Water. Water. Water

BerylStreep · 27/06/2013 08:59

Well done Kiwi!

Crabby, your blog is fab.

maidofmuss · 27/06/2013 09:00

Don't worry Crabby - just realised Lily did a link just a few posts ago Blush

NobodyPutsMyBabyInTheCorner · 27/06/2013 09:01

I agree with stuntnun, i think that's who said it... I used to LOVE chocolate and couldn't go a day without it. I thought it would be a huge challenge but haven't touched it at all in three weeks.

When I was pg with DC I ate so much of it, I thought I could have what I wanted and now I can see I gave myself a sugar addiction.

Thank you all for your support an fabulous recipes Flowers
I'm not sure where I would be without celeriac.

I did a sneaky WI this morning and I'm 11stone, so 1lb down. I'm wondering if I can get into the 10's by monday or if our BBQ with friends tomorrow will sabotage me!

Feeling really motivated today, anyone have any suggestions for using mince?

maidofmuss · 27/06/2013 09:11

Crabby ? do something with mince for Nobody ! (Your blog is fabulous ? am going to give the pork belly a go)
Nobody I would have suggested meatballs with courgette 'pasta' but I used to roll them in a bit of flour or breadcrumbs and they fell apart last time I did them without so would be interested if anyone has any suggestions too!

NobodyPutsMyBabyInTheCorner · 27/06/2013 09:36

Ive just had a look on the recipe thread and theres something called a burger pizza, sounds really strange but I think I might give it a go!

prettybird · 27/06/2013 09:47

Re the courgettes, I just thought I'd add in that I have never done them in advance to let the dry out - or even fried them on kitchen paper.

What I do do, is it them in half lengthways and scoop out some of the seeds (which tend to be where the wateriness comes from) before using the potato peeler/cheese slicer to make the pappardelle. The last bit of the courgette tends to need to be cut with a knife.

BING BONG ATTENTION BOOTCAMPERS

earlier than usual this week, because tomorrow i will be staying in a fancypants hotel falling off the wagon

biggest loser of the week: StuntNun
biggest losers to date: CrabbyBigBottom and Kiwigirl42
biggest %age loser to date: CrabbyBigBottom

go losers, go losers

StuntNun · 27/06/2013 09:58

It was me that put the burger pizza recipe on Nobody it's really yummy. The only change I might make is to cook the burger part for a bit them pour off all the watery stuff that comes out then put the topping on and finish it in the oven.

I have managed to obtain two celeriacs! I will mash one, any suggestions for t'other?

prettybird · 27/06/2013 10:03

Curried celeriac chips. Yummy. Smile

BillComptonstrousers · 27/06/2013 10:04

I've just had a lovely breakfast, a very thin herb omelette stuffed with avocado, tomatoes and mayo. I might have it with my lunch as well but have it with feta, ham and salad. Grin

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/06/2013 10:07

Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah - after sticking to the actual rules for a short while I've finally gone below the weight I've been bouncing about for weeks!!!

Note to self: following the rules works. Not following them doesn't. Fact.

maidofmuss · 27/06/2013 10:16

Well done StuntNun Crabby and Kiwi!!!
(And MrsHP ? 'tis what I must do. Sticking to the rules! Grin)

CiderwithBuda · 27/06/2013 10:33

Well done losers!

BIWI that sounds nice.

MrsHP - I think that might well be where I have gone wrong too. Not sticking to the actual rules! Glad you have seen a result.

I'm having a doing day today. School finishes today for DS. I have an estate agent coming tomorrow to give us an idea of what out house is worth - prompted that the house across the road has gone on the market at an eye watering sum. And I am trying to get organised for our holiday. And figure out why for the rest of the year DS refuses to change out of school uniform but a week before holiday when I am trying to get organised with clothes/washing/ironing, he decides to get changed and play football, then have a shower and change again, and then get clean pyjamas. Every night this week. So washing and tidying this morning and ironing this afternoon.

And sticking to them pesky rules! The wine is all gone so that will help. No more till glass of champagne on plane next week.

And the next week will be interesting food wise as I am trying to use up fridge contents. There may be some interesting combinations!

Negroni · 27/06/2013 10:42

Hello everyone! Just checking in to try and stick on track. Feeling a bit strange this week too so trying to keep focused.

Usually I am so fixed on low carb that do not even see the bread etc in the fridge but had guests for dinner last night (lamb chops, greek salad, mini new potatoes followed by blue/rasp/strawberries and double cream/ ice cream) and firstly almost ate small potato when checking was cooked - had to remove from mouth! Then almost forgot that the double cream was for me and almost had giant ice cream portion with berries. Instead had far too many berries and cream Blush

Trying to go back to doing a couple of days non dairy (except butter/ eggs etc). Really helped me last week, think it makes me feel fuller and less likely to be tempted by carby foods. Oh and making trip to health food shop today on the hunt for coconut oil.

Congrats Kiwi , Stuntnun, Crabby!!

BIWI - have done the survey! Thanks so much for running this thread.

LilyAmaryllis · 27/06/2013 10:55

Nobody you should be OK at a BBQ, surely ideal for low-carb food, just leave the bread alone!

Bill thanks for the inspiration, I think I will have omelette for lunch too, good idea.

Well done all high-achieving incredible shrinking women.

Breakfast was greek yoghurt with raspberries, avocado on the side. It doesn't feel like it was quite enough. I probably just have to have eggs for breakfast, they really set me up for the day. Hence why I'm now suddenly looking forward to my lunch omelette.

BIWI · 27/06/2013 10:59

This is how I make meatballs:

In food processor, blitz together 4 large shallots, chilli (optional), 2-4 garlic cloves, 1 pepper. Scrape it down the sides of the bowl, and then add your mince (450-500g). If you have bought lean mince, add a good slug of olive oil/coconut oil. Season well with salt and black pepper, and some dried oregano. (You need a bit more salt than you think you will). Blitz again, till it's all well mixed together.

Tip the mixture on to a chopping board and roll it into large walnut-sized balls.

Put these into an oven dish and bake in a hot oven for around 20 minutes, turning them over half way through the cooking time.

Guaranteed not to fall apart if you do them this way!

OP posts:
MrsHerculePoirot · 27/06/2013 11:08

That sounds lovely BIWI and much more sophisticated. My meatballs are made as follows:

Open packet of mince and give it to DD to help. She will take random amounts of mince and sort of squish them together in various uneven 'balls' none of which are similar in size to each other just to really help when cooking them. Refrain from taking over and say "well done that is lovely" through gritted teeth. Put on baking tray and cook in over for between 5 - 20 minutes, having to check fairly regularly to take the smaller ones out.

To be fair, they are absolutely fine to eat, and we make loads at a time and have them for snacks over the next few days!!!

shinybaubles · 27/06/2013 11:33

Hi everyone just popping in to have a look and see if I can manage this.

maidofmuss · 27/06/2013 11:40

Thanks BIWI for recipe and Grin at MrsHP's account of cooking with little-ys. I remember the "that's lovely" gritted teeth routine very well! Will definitely oven cook next time, which is what both your versions do. Was going wrong by sticking to a Delia version of braised meatballs in which you fry/seal them first in flour before covering with passata/onions/basil and popping in oven) ? a big favourite in Mussy household but not brill for low-carbing.

maidofmuss · 27/06/2013 11:41

(or for sticking together in a meatball shape!)
