Morning all.

Come and fill in the spreadsheet

Only two weeks to go before we finish this challenge. Time to drop a few more pounds!

But go easy with those strawberries ...

Yay stuntnun that's brilliant, well done!!

I thought before I started this woe that I could never give up pasta, loved it, ate loads of it. Don't miss it at all. I think what I liked really were the lovely sauces, creamy, garlicky, cheesey, all those flavours. I can still have those!! Don't need bland sticky cotton wool stuff underneath!

NewStartNewStory · 26/06/2013 19:58

toomuch Grin at ds excuse to go. there are late viewings in some areas for kid free enjoyment. But i am sure ds will enjoy it too. Wink

CiderwithBuda · 26/06/2013 20:09

Hello all.

Food going well. Not drinking enough water though. Need to rectify that. I had some wine last night and about to have some more! There was a bottle open from Monday so I'm finishing it gradually. About a glass and a half left in for tonight and that's that.

Lunch yesterday was chicken and salad
Dinner was steak with leeks and mushrooms fried in butter and then I added creme fraiche and Dijon mustard. A bit too much but it was tasty.

B today was egg mayo and a cold sausage
Lunch was a hotchpotch of coleslaw, cheese deli filler and ham
Snack - ham
Dinner - steak with courgette ribbons mixed with two tablespoons of a tomato sauce and a table spoon of creme fraiche and chimmichurri sauce. 'twas yum.

Was in town today getting bits an pieces and bought some Hotel Chocalat stuff for teachers pressies for tomorrow. Came home and realised I didn't have the Hotel Chocolat bag! Phoned the last two shops I had been in and the second shop had it! So had to go back into town to collect. I treated myself to some 100% chocolate. Haven't tried it yet though!

Chipping TEASPOONS not tablespoons Grin

BIWI sorry, didn't mean it as a criticism, just that when you come to do your analysis of the survey results, you might want to look at the 2 questions in tandem. Alternatively you could get MNHQ to add a n/a option on that question for all those who haven't done it yet. (They are all great ideas btw, just for me, being in NI, things like MN academy are too far away).

Have just come back from a cycle - I got my road bike set up by a bike podiatrist, and this is the first I have been out on it since, what with work, Mum in hospital, kids etc. it make such a difference having it set up properly and I love the feeling of hammering along at speed.

BerylStreep · 26/06/2013 20:27

Can anyone remember who posted the recipe for celeriac fondant?

We have people coming to stay in a few weeks. We stayed with them a couple of years ago, and they were the most amazing hosts. She had managed some of the top restaurants in London, and effortlessly threw things together that were absolutely divine. I would like to return the hospitality and I am trying to gather some ideas for yummy menus. I thought that celeriac fondant with steak and a mushroom sauce might be quite nice to serve to guests.

ChippingInWiredOnCoffee · 26/06/2013 20:27

NewStart - No - I don't mind laundry, but I hate cooking & cleaning up after.

Beryl - phew. You got your bike set up by a podiatrist?? Interesting. I had mine set up by the specialist at the bike shop, it killed me, I had to put it back to how I like it even if it's technically all wrong. I haven't been out on it for ages - I used to live in the saddle when I lived in Spain. It's not the same in the UK.

StuntNun - how did you make your courgette bolognaise? Good luck with the holiday goal!

Cider - 100% chocolate?? What's the carb count on that??

BIWI · 26/06/2013 20:28

Oh goodness, Beryl, I didn't take it as a criticism! But it did point out a mistake that I'd made, which is fine!!! (I'm not a survey kind of researcher, so it's all a bit alien to me)

BerylStreep · 26/06/2013 20:32

Bike podiatrist was very good. He raised the saddle by about 5 inches, raised and adjusted the handle bars, and added a shim to one of my cycle shoes to even up my wonky legs.

loopyloou · 26/06/2013 20:56

I have never cooked celeriac - haven't found it locally yet. How do you cook it? Also courgette ribbons, how do you do them?

B: bacon and fried egg, home made mayo
L: tuna mayo with salad and cheddar
D: chicken curry
S: yoghurt with blueberries

MrsHerculePoirot · 26/06/2013 21:28

pretty sorry about your mum, you can feel the love in every word you typed earlier (hugs)

Managed to stay on track and play netball, suddenly remember black and catinboots' cheese crisps and made some to get rid of the crispy cravings!

BIWI · 26/06/2013 21:46

loopylou - you need to peel it, then how you cook it depends on the recipe. There are several recipes on the recipe thread.

Hello everyone. Crabby thank you for the bulletproof coffee link, I've book marked it. It sounds vile but I might give it a go anyway!

I've stuck to low carbs and have had no wine since Sunday. Plus I've walked quite a few miles this week. I FEEL fat though, gah! Scared to weigh in case I've put on weight...

So I'll wait until Friday week when I'll have had 12 days of no wine (previously just drinking at the we)

Today I've had an India and Neris muffin
Spinach salad with chilli oil and tuna mayo
Some marmite cheese, small piece of smoked cheddar
Chorizo slices (no sugar, it's chorizo picante)
Some pistachios
Belly pork with broccoli and green beans

CiderwithBuda · 26/06/2013 22:20

Chipping - 10g per half bar! Yikes. Apparently best eaten as two small pieces - the first prepares the mouth, the second reveals the flavours. Not sure why I even bought it as I'm not a big chocolate eater really.

BIWI - I did the survey.

A week left till we go on holiday. Haven't lost the weight I wanted to. Bah. Oh well. At least my holiday stuff from last year still fits.

Ruprekt · 26/06/2013 22:26

Chip.....make a proper coffee and pour into jug, add a tbsp coconut oil, a ttbsp unsalted butter and dbl cream. Whisk up til frothy with a blender.

As the oil and butter melt it goes to a lovely consistency. Smile

Loopy....peel courgette into long strips and fry in butter. Use as pasta....tis fab.

Peel celeriac and use as you would potato. Mash, chips, fondant, chips, roasted.

loopyloou · 26/06/2013 22:39

Thanks. Sorry, I'm being really dim, but how do you manage to peel long strips like pasta? Are they only as long as the courgette is? Or do you try to peel round, like you would an apple? Do you take the skin off first? How long do you cook them for and do you boil them in water like pasta?

Sorry for all the questions! Blush

loopyloou · 26/06/2013 22:40

Ah just seen you said to fry the strips.

StuntNun · 26/06/2013 22:53

Chipping the courgette was just normal bolognese sauce with courgettes instead of pasta.

I have some of the 100% cocoa chocolate too Cider, it's so bitter you only eat a sixteenth of a bar at a time. Tbh it's a bit too hardcore for me, I'll probably go for 90-95% next time but the two 70g bars I have will last me for ages as they're only for chocolate emergencies.

LilyAmaryllis · 26/06/2013 23:30

loopyloou I think all your questions will be answered here

CrabbyBigBottom · 26/06/2013 23:45

Did someone say my name?! Grin

Evening all. Still feeling a bit shite here so not much to say really.

BIWI I've done the survey, and you're right about me eating too much dairy, of course. I've had a dairy free day today, which hasn't improved my already foul mood! Developed a cracking headache this afternoon, not sure why. Drank loads and loads of water but couldn't shift it. Tried having some butter and marmite too, for the salt.

B/L - hard boiled duck egg with half an avocado, salad leaves and h/m mayonnaise
D - leftover lamb shank with celeriac mash, cabbage and broccoli
2 cups tea. Loads water.

loopyloou · 26/06/2013 23:57

Thanks lily, the blog indeed tells me everything I need to know. Smile

da da da ta da! I'm finally moving those scales again after sts for 2 wks. Luckily I just kept munching and had faith they would come down this time. I have now lost 16 pounds since starting bootcamp 8 weeks ago (I'm a week behind). Really, really pleased.

I went a bit mad on the Ocado shop and the fridge is stuffed with meat and vegetables Grin. My junk food eating DH almost fainted when he opened it at the green glow emminating from within.

Yum!

BIWI · 27/06/2013 08:36
