BIWI · 17/06/2013 08:08

Morning campers.

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So only three weeks left. I know that things have been moving quite satisfactorily for some of you, so hopefully these last three weeks can see a few more of those pesky pounds disappear.

I had a bit of an altercation with some sticky toffee pudding this weekend (at the PILs) so I've got my work cut out over the next few days to undo the damage!

Off for a run shortly ...

Well done black! I would be terrified my brain wouldn't work - it is so long since I have used it!

Chipping - lived in Hungary for 6 years. Hated certain aspects but Budapest is a beautiful city and the expat life is lovely. I made some fab friends. And I agree that Saturday school is cruel! I am really not keen but as keeps being pointed out to me - what would he be doing otherwise? We are getting used to it now. He has even said he enjoys it. It's more relaxed and quiet without the "mini-kids" as he calls them. Teachers are more relaxed and they do sports and then sometimes matches.

Well last night started well in pizza express. Mozzarella and tomato salad to start and studiously ignored the garlic bread and dough balls that DS and DH had. Order warm veg and goats chees salad as a main. It was fairly dire. Ate the goats cheese and some of the veg but the veg were all over cooked and mushy so not great. Ended up eating the dough sticks and a slice of DH's pizza and then had dessert. Had too much wine too. Came home and had more wine and some French bread with cheese!

Back on track today but I think I may have to write last week off completely.

Über camping again from tomorrow. It does seem to agree with me. I do think dairy is an issue for me so will avoid as much as possible.

B today was sausage, bacon, fried egg and mushroom
Lunch - not sure yet. Salad and something.

Dinner - roast chicken, celeriac dauphinois and fried leeks and greens

MrsHerculePoirot · 23/06/2013 13:46

Congratulations Black!

Crabby, I have signed up to your blog too just now.

I am going to commit to cooking one new/complicated/different thing at least once a week.

Back on the wagon this week as seen those 4 lbs go and I am back to pre-carbicide weight so that was good. Now for the next week...

MollyMollyMolly · 23/06/2013 14:01

Hi Ladies....thanks for link Chipping and many thanks for information on low carb BIWI. Will be reading said book soon. Started this woe last night after talking to some of you. Thanks for helping me out Ladies. Popped (well it takes twenty minutes to get there as I live in the mountains in Wales) to Tesco this morning to stock up on food. Am soooo determined to do this now and make it work for me as fed up....really really fed up of this extra 2 stone. Doesn't seem hard having read up on the rules. Just need to get over the not having bread flour and sugar and then its pretty much eating normally. I don't eat potatoes or pasta anyway. Im going to do my best to go bootcamp too so I get fast results as suggested by you lovely ladies. Yay!!!! Grin

NobodyPutsMyBabyInTheCorner · 23/06/2013 14:25

Hi all,

Just signing in for the day.

B- greek yogurt with cinnamon and nutmeg (spices are allowed right?)
S- Coffee with cream
L- Gammon and onions fried in butter with eggs mashed with mayonnaise
S- 20g of cheddar
D- a small salad- just veg

I try to have my main meal for lunch and something very light for dinner on a Sunday as most of us WI tomorrow Shock

FWIW, I would avoid the Burger King and Pizza too.. not sure if I could resist the Carbonara...

Ruprekt · 23/06/2013 14:27

Which oil do you use for bulletproof coffee?

CrabbyBigBottom · 23/06/2013 15:54

Flowers Black Congratulations!

Ok, who can give me three good reasons (one or two wouldn't be enough) why I should not dive into a bottle of chilled white wine this evening?

I've been really good this week and only lost 1lb. I didn't drink at all on Friday and only one glass last night. Mainly though, it's because I've just been feeling flat all week. I'm eating right and not drinking much, so should be all full of energy and optimism, vim and vigour. Instead I'm apathetic, irritable and flat. Hmm I reduced my anti-depressant dose by an eighth a couple of weeks ago, and that's the only thing I can think of that would be making me feel like this for this long. I couldn't reduce it by any less though; I'm already cutting a 10mg tablet in half (so taking 35mg instead of 40mg).

I just want that lovely, fluffy, all-is-right-with-the-world feeling of a couple of glasses of white. And then a couple of glasses of red too, obviously. And possibly a glass of port. Hmm Hmm

Come on, why shouldn't I?? [cross pouty face]

CrabbyBigBottom · 23/06/2013 15:57

Rup I think some people use coconut oil. I've tried it once and used unsalted butter. It was lush, but coffee makes me crazy. Hmm

Ruprekt · 23/06/2013 16:40

Crabby....thanks!

Don't dive into the wine. Drink a big glass of water and go for a bath and cook something yum for dinner.

Add butter to your veg and have more water.

Keep the faith!!

CrabbyBigBottom · 23/06/2013 16:54

Thanks Rup. I have drunk plenty of water, the lamb shanks are in the oven and I don't think a bath would stop me wanting the white - I'd just take a glass in there with me! Grin

letsseeificandothis · 23/06/2013 16:54

Crabby - because I have looked at the spreadsheet and you have done AMAZINGLY!
- and because that's too good to lose.
- and because you know it doesn't go linearly. I put on pounds last week and was v down about it, but kept going and they're gone again this week, together with two more packets of lard.

(and the above is a bit hypocritical because I had wine last night) Blush

StuntNun · 23/06/2013 16:55

Thanks for the feedback peeps. Tbh I think the most important thing is to be prepared for situations where it would be easy to get derailed from the woe. So it's a great suggestion to not eat in Burger King, or have a black coffee - I'll probably be running round sorting out the kids anyway - but it's also good to know that if I'm starving when I'm there that the grilled chicken salad is the best option rather than pinching French fries off the kids. I think I'm going to have to have the spaghetti carbonara though, it's my absolute favourite food and my DH is excellent at making it. I actually love courgettes but I can't see DH wanting to have courgetti when he has to cook the 'real thing' for our two boys.

CrabbyBigBottom · 23/06/2013 17:03

Thank you letssee. I'm fighting with myself here.

letsseeificandothis · 23/06/2013 17:11

Crabby - I know you are.

MrsHerculePoirot kept me off the cake in Week 6, though. And it felt better that way (though that was later in the evening, so fewer hours of temptation left).

Whatever happens, tomorrow is another day...

CrabbyBigBottom · 23/06/2013 17:20

Oops.
Blush
Oh well, may as well enjoy it now.

Thank you letssee and Rup. I've just got the fuckitfuckitfuckit devil in me today.

letsseeificandothis · 23/06/2013 17:28

Then enjoy, Crabby.

And we won't tell BIWI. Wink

CiderwithBuda · 23/06/2013 17:34

Crabby - I'm feeling the same today. I think I will just write last week off and start afresh tomorrow. So I am about to have wine too. And I think I will even have carrots with my dinner. And maybe a roast potato. And then strawberries and cream. I know part of my problem is that I had so much crap earlier in the week.

But I just can't face making celeriac dauphinois.

LilyAmaryllis · 23/06/2013 17:36

wow Black a brilliant and big step doing a 4 year psychology degree. Hope its great.

Mrs HP 4 lbs off, that's fantastic!

I don't know crabby what if you just stuck with the 2 glasses of white (not the red and the port?) Or how about this for a good reason:
You've got 1 lb off this week but what if you'd put it back on again by weigh in day tomorrow by having the wine?!

I'm starting to feel like buying a set of scales. I feel like I'm in a stall but I have no evidence!

sybilfaulty · 23/06/2013 17:46

Black I am so pleased for you with your course Flowers

Crabby, I looked at your blog and your photography is wonderful! Please tell me it's your job. If it's not, it should be.. You are a very talented woman.

Thanks for all the kind words about my redundancy situation. BIWI, you said yesterday that being kind to myself could involve making the right food choices. I don't think I have had better advice in the last decade. To end the redundancy process (for good or bad) 10lbs heavier because I am stressed, miserable etc and hitting the wine is nonsense. If I really want to take care of myself, I should try to make the right choices (yet forgive myself if I slip). This is not carte blanche to be a carby twat. I have therefore taken myself swimming (3k this morning), eaten buttered eggs and then done a whole build a bear party with only water to sustain me. Am now having a gin and slim to reward me whilst I wait for my chicken and mushrooms. I may end up out of a job for a while but I won't be adding to my load with an extra 10lb. You are a superstar for pointing that out. Thank you.

I love all the chat and read regularly, although I don'[t post as much as I'd like. Thanks for all the support. I do hugely appreciate it.

rubybricks · 23/06/2013 18:09

congratulations Black!!!
and wow Crabby your blog is AMAZING!!!
and sybil good luck to you and glad to hear you seem to have turned a corner Smile

now i realise this should be in the questions thread but can i just ask a couple of quick ones? am finally making the celeriac tartiflette tonight - Q1: the celeriac i have chopped into 2cm chunks - too chunky? (it's been on nearly 20 mins, could make them smaller before putting in oven)

Q2: reblochon cheese - do i de-rind it before dicing??

many thanks in advance, am so looking forward to this, don't want to get it wrong...

BIWI · 23/06/2013 18:09

You are very welcome, sybil Flowers

Thank you.

BIWI, PLEASE tell me you have a book in the making. I love the Neris and India book, but with your knowledge and experience, you could knock them into a cocked hat. We'd all buy it!
