For one month only - 4 weeks of strict Bootcamp, which means no booze.

If you want to, you can do Bootcamp Light, but with the exception of no alcohol.

All welcome! But please, only sign up if you are prepared to do the whole thing without alcohol.

Not at all!

TeaRose29 · 01/01/2024 17:51

Hello, is it possible to join and be added to the spreadsheet? I’ve only just found this thread and it is just what I need. I’m doing Dry January (with a view to continuing beyond) and will also be Carnivore/Ketovore.

I am normally low carb but have been off the wagon in December. I’ve gained 3 or 4 pounds and I feel bloated and horrible. 5’6” and currently weigh 141.5 pounds, want to be about 135.

magneticmoon · 01/01/2024 17:51

Today's summary:

Nearly 1 gallon water (some still to go)

2 espresso with cream

Breakfast: 160g smoked salmon, 3 large eggs, large dollop butter, cream and Stilton

Walk in the woods with my daughter

3 cups tea with semi milk

Dinner: 30g philadelphia, 4 celery sticks, 50g wensleydale with cranberries

Total is just over 1500 calories, 17g carbs

magneticmoon · 01/01/2024 17:51

No idea why text is malfunctioning like that!

CharlieHadAPigeon · 01/01/2024 17:51

@PurpleWhirple that sounds like an epic week. Fingers crossed you’ll have similar results this time.

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 01/01/2024 17:53

You're very welcome @TeaRose29 - I've added you to the spreadsheet, along with @JacketAndJumpet

Brilliant, thank you BIWI!

Rejoining for January!

JacketAndJumpet · 01/01/2024 18:32

Thank you!

Have reduced carbs today to 60gms in preparation to start properly tomorrow. Consumed lots of water. Hoping to avoid carb flu as I am an absolute carb monster! Walked 14000 steps but feeling very tired. Could this be the reduction in carbs to 60gms after my mammoth carb fast over Xmas?

Happy New Year all. Looking forward to learning and benefitting from this new way of eating. I have 28lbs to lose.

I won’t weigh daily as can find any increases demotivating.

I’m interested in seeing if the aches in my joints disappear with my change in diet and my erm…. Flatulance eases!

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 01/01/2024 18:50

@sheepdreams more likely to be the number of steps!!!

(You do know that we don't count carbs on Bootcamp, don't you?)

Happy new year everyone.

I'm checking in with a fairly successful day one. Our online shop didn't arrive until late this afternoon so was really rooting around the fridge for things after a week away. With that in mind I think I did ok.

B: Yogurt. Not the highest fat I could find but the supermarket was pretty limited. 7.6% fat but have 10+% coming in shop on Friday.

L: 3 scrambled eggs in butter, celery and a smidge of tuna mayo.

ONLINE SHOP ARRIVED

D: salmon, celariac chips and broccoli covered in butter with lots of mayo to dip in.

S: yogurt with cream just to avoid wanting to snack.

Settling down with a peppermint tea now which will bring my water up to about 2.8L. I'm constantly needing a wee!

AIBConsiderate · 01/01/2024 20:23

My weight is up there on the spreadsheet compared to most. I hate it, but I've told myself that tomorrow it will be less than that and less again the day after.

Greek yoghurt for breakfast, an omelette for lunch and a chicken stew with cauli rice for dinner. I've made an effort to drink plenty of water but haven't quite made my target yet. This is the dangerous time of the day where I'd be tempted to root around for a treat - like I haven't had enough over the past few weeks. But I am here typing away instead.

Nestnearlyempty · 01/01/2024 20:31

Could I join please if not too late? I’m 180 lb and about 3 1/2 stone to lose to my happy weight. I’ve been low carb today and juicing. And dry. So I’m on track…

SamuelWhiskey · 01/01/2024 20:32

Thanks for the spreadsheet! I'm going to weigh (urgh) and get started tomorrow. I'm away at my in laws for a few days, so things could be tricky - but if I just need to start and get the ball rolling

Jollyholibobs · 01/01/2024 22:00

Please can I join. Will start tomorrow. I need this. Thanks BIWI.

Thesoundofmusic23 · 01/01/2024 22:11

Happy new year all.

I’ve checked in on the spreadsheet, but I’m not able to start til the 3rd so am guessing losses may be a bit slower than others at next weeks weigh in. Husband going to do it too and we both want to loose about 30lbs this year if possible. Hopefully this will be a good kick start for us. Thanks @BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas for organising us all.

Gingerwarthog · 01/01/2024 22:32

Ok I know it's early days but am so proud I dodged the packet of Celebrations DD was wafting around this evening. My absolute downfall are mini- Snickers bars. Did not have one. Small victories!

Lucienandjean · 01/01/2024 23:36

I had a good first day back on Bootcamp!

Breakfast: nothing. I'm used to intermittent fasting so I was ok with that.

I spent the morning sorting the kitchen cupboards and getting rid of the carb-rich Christmas foods. This felt really good, actually. My dd later took home a bag of savoury crackers, crisps, various chocolates, and most of my baking ingredients!

Lunch: my online shop hadn't arrived yet so my planned omelette was off the menu. I had a ham salad with mayo, followed by a big spoon of FFGY.

Shopping arrived!

Dinner: celebrated new year with a steak fried in butter, mushrooms, broccoli, tomato, salad, and avocado. No wine!

Struggled a bit with the water, as I often do at first on Bootcamp. It'll get easier. No snacks today - I didn't feel hungry between meals.

I had a lot of hot flushes today, when I usually have only occasional ones now. I'm not sure if there's a connection. Probably not, but it's not a happy development either way.

Redhothoochycoocher · 02/01/2024 05:41

Hi everyone, I did the bootcamp a couple of years ago and felt great but fell off the wagon due to bad planning. I'm veggie so need to put some thought into what I should be eating to stay healthy and full. I was planning to do 16:8 and wonder if it's ok to do fasting along with LC? I've heard fasting is good for peri-menopause (I'm not there yet but thinking ahead) and obviously so many benefits for LC so ideally I'd like to do both.

I know I'm a couple of days late but please can I be added to the spreadsheet @BIWI? We're having renovations and the scales have gone for a walkabout so I'll need to dig those out or buy new ones today and then weigh first thing tomorrow if that's ok? Last time I weighed in Sept I was appx 200lbs and I'm 5'7'' so need to lose about 50lbs. I've never been a healthy weight but never by this much. I know LC will work so I'm excited to get started.

Goodiewhemper · 02/01/2024 06:05

Good morning everyone and Happy New Year. I am starting today. I will have to hold off until tomorrow to weigh as I need to replace the batteries on the scales. I expect a two/three kg gain but I'm not going to stress about it as I know with a bit of discipline I will get back to my pre Christmas weight soon of 77/78kg. . My first target is 75kg but I really want to get to 70kg. I definitely ate far too many carbs over Christmas. Some I enjoyed and others were just mindless grazing. I don't know why I did it to myself as I feel so much better since I started low carbing.

I can't remember who mentioned measuring their waists but I think I should definitely do that. I am apple shaped and have that awful adipose fat. It would be really encouraging to see that reduce in size.

I have had my coffee with cream and am making my shake with spinach, cucumber, avocado and almond milk for breakfast.
Lunch today will be two boiled eggs and soup (aubergine, zucchini, celery, tomatoes and red pepper). Dinner will be Italian sausage and cabbage.

Hope everyone has a great day.

RooRooCooChoo · 02/01/2024 07:02

Morning all. Day one went largely to plan

B: Nothing. Intended FFGY w cream to help ease me back in to LC, but in the end was running around after the kids and forgot.
L: scrambled eggs w smoked salmon
S: Parma ham and a babybel
D: Steak, salad, lump of blue cheese.

Can’t wait to get back to more stable blood sugar. Found myself ravenous at certain points in a way that doesn’t happen on LC.

Today’s plan

B: FFGY w cream
L: chicken w mayo and sakad
D: pot roast w roasted cauliflower and blue cheese for dessert

Also cycling in to work. While it has only been 10 days or so since I last cycled in, it feels like much longer. This is going to hurt!

WitchWand · 02/01/2024 07:14

Hello and Happy New Year !
I would love to join too. Thanks for this @BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas or @BIWI . I hope it's not to late to be put on the spreadsheet.

SpinningTops · 02/01/2024 07:42

Morning all, I have woken up hungry with a bit of a headache so need a well planned day with low carb snacks on hand.

Will have FFGY with cream for breakfast and a green tea and get some eggs boiling for a snack.

BIWI · 02/01/2024 07:57

Welcome @WitchWand! Will add you to the spreadsheet.

Will also check through the thread to make sure that I've added everyone, but if you find you're missing please either shout, or just add yourself to the bottom of the names column.
