For one month only - 4 weeks of strict Bootcamp, which means no booze.

If you want to, you can do Bootcamp Light, but with the exception of no alcohol.

All welcome! But please, only sign up if you are prepared to do the whole thing without alcohol.

Morning everyone! Down 2 kgs this week, which I'm pleased about. I've been doing BC lite though and I don't think I've dropped into that blood sugar controlled "not hungry" feeling that I remember from previous BCs so I'm going to try boot camp proper this week. Im addicted to Diet Coke - i know it's terrible for you - so I will try!!! Thanks @BIWI and @StuntNun for running this BC. It's so helpful.

Well done everyone, some great loss (I always feel weird saying that because we ‘gain’ a better quality of life and health with this woe)
i am down 1lb but I’m happy with that as I’ve just come on my period and I haven’t been great with the water this week.

blackteaplease · 08/01/2024 08:34

Wowsers, there are some great losses this week. 4.5 lbs off for me. Another 4.5 to go to my first target of being merely overweight instead of obese.

LadyBird1973 · 08/01/2024 08:38

Shocking week for me. Too scared to weigh, so starting again today.
Well done to everyone who has lost this week - hopefully I'll be joining you next Monday

Fab losses, I love hearing about them on weigh-in day!!! Just shy of 5lb down for me 😮and while I'm aware it's more to do with my visitor than me I'll take it as it also means that I've (apart from 0.2lb) lost a stone since starting on the summer bootcamp in June, and I'm officially overweight instead of obese in BMI terms! My ultimate target is to get into the healthy BMI range which is another 18lb (feel so ashamed about letting it get to this point) but I'm so pleased that it's been so easy to get back on track after a major blip in autumn and a bit of a half-hearted go at the pre-Christmas BC.
For the first time for me on BC I'm actually sleeping better as well which is a gamechanger after spending most of the last 3 years exhausted.
Planning to IF until lunchtime today with just herbal tea then an omelette for lunch and then salmon fillet with salad for dinner. The carbies are on pizza and salad at various different times due to training etc so I can eat what I want yay!!!!

CocktailQueenie · 08/01/2024 08:42

Morning everyone, well done for the losses! I am ashamed to have gained nearly 2lbs, hopefully it is because I am constipated this morning and have my period. Will carry on but feeling a bit disappointed.

sheepdreams · 08/01/2024 08:44

Morning all. Great to hear of people’s losses. I will not weigh myself until next weigh in as I am committed to making this woe a lifestyle change this time. If I weigh and have lost I may be tempted to have a little treat and if I have gained may feel demotivated, so trying to focus on the changes I am making.

I do have more control of my hunger and sugar cravings which is a real bonus and feel less bloated.

My planned food for today:
Br: IF
Lu: scrambled egg and smoked salmon
Di: homemade butter ckn with buttery cabbage.

snacks (if needed) mange tout with LC dip, cheese.

Herbal tea, coffee and all of the water 💦

@RooRooCooChoo I too the Freshwell app and it is really useful.

Thank you to all with the fabulous recipe ideas too. I need to broaden my repertoire.

Have a great day and I hope everyone gets the results they are hoping for.

I like the sound of your butter chicken- I love it in restaurants but have never cooked it myself. Can you please share the recipe?

@cathyandclaire Hi the recipe is from the Freshwell low carb app. There are some great recipes on there. It will not let me seperate the recipe but you can have a look at the app under the tan what can I eat and then recipes. It’s a great resource developed by GPs.

Well mousakka is going on the regular rotation, it’s a touch rich on its own because the cheese sauce is obviously low carb so cream, cream cheese and parmesan but with salad on the side it’s awesome.

Looks lovely! (Is it from the recipe thread?)

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 08/01/2024 13:36

Well done on all the losses!

Just imagining all that 'lost' fat heaped up somewhere :). We have a mountain between us already.

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 08/01/2024 14:40

@LiesDoNotBecomeUs We've moved over to the second week chat thread now!

And @sheepdreams I've already tagged you to say that!

I've just started this , hope I'm not too late. Really struggling to find things to eat!

NotDonna · 27/01/2024 21:30

@Slumberlands theres a new thread now as we are on our last week. There’s another boot camp starting in Feb though. Did you read the spreadsheet as there’s a whole list of what you can eat (tabs at bottom) plus lots of recipes in the other threads. I tend to eat fish or meat and loads of veg, full fat cream, cheese, full fat yoghurt; lots of green leafy veg and fats. Fats are super important! Obviously no potatoes, pasta, rice, bread, cakes, biscuits, sugar. For first couple of weeks no fruit, no alcohol, no nuts. Lots and lots of water. It’s not difficult btw!!
