BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 23/12/2023 14:44

For one month only - 4 weeks of strict Bootcamp, which means no booze.

If you want to, you can do Bootcamp Light, but with the exception of no alcohol.

All welcome! But please, only sign up if you are prepared to do the whole thing without alcohol.

I'm in! Thanks for organising this again, @BIWI.

I've had a high-carb Christmas, and have no real regrets about that. After two years of fairly consistent low-carbing, I was ready for a little break. But I'm back ready to get into Bootcamp tomorrow. I feel healthier without the carbs, especially my joints.

I haven't weighed myself for 2 weeks. I expect a biggish gain tomorrow morning on the scales, but it'll come off again.

Do we have a sign-up thread? Otherwise can you add me to the spreadsheet? Thanks.

BIWI · 31/12/2023 16:15

Here's the spreadsheet

I haven't put you on it @Baystard, as you said you weren't weighing. And anyone else - if you don't want to be on it, just let me know and I'll remove you.

For anyone who hasn't done Bootcamp before, if you're using your mobile to access the thread, you'll need to download the Google Sheets app.

Please can I join? I really want to improve my chances of not getting diabetes and perimenopause is pushing my weight up at a rate of knots!

Alohapotato · 31/12/2023 19:32

I'm back again. My starting weight was 78.4, Current Weight 72.4kg. Goal weight 58-60kg.

cathyandclaire · 31/12/2023 19:40

Thanks @BIWI can I add myself onto the spreadsheet or will I cause chaos?!

Nevertoomanyfluffies · 31/12/2023 20:26

I've logged my weight as its Monday here in Australia. It's really bad, I've put on 3kg over December. Most of it in the last week! Well that's the shock I need to start off on the right track. Thank you for running this BIWI.

LadyBird1973 · 31/12/2023 21:56

Hi all,
Could I please be added to the spreadsheet?
I did the last bootcamp and made pretty good progress. Have had 9 days 'off' and am more than ready to get back to low carbing and no alcohol. I'm not sorry I had the time off - it's reminded me that all those things o stopped eating aren't as lovely as I remembered and definitely aren't with the general sluggish, crap feeling I be experienced for the last few days.
Am really excited to start January doing a good thing, particularly as I've turned 50 over the Christmas period and it feels like I shouldn't slide backwards (as I have done on previous Christmases).

blackteaplease · 01/01/2024 07:32

Happy New Year! I'm up early with the kids and excited to start today. Planning to have eggs for breakfast.

RooRooCooChoo · 01/01/2024 08:36

Morning all. Happy new year and happy new boot camp!

My husband determinedly poured the un-drunk fizz down the sink before we went to bed last night, so I suppose this is really happening.

Plan for today is:

B: FFGY w double cream
L: smoked salmon and green salad
D: steak and green salad

CocktailQueenie · 01/01/2024 08:42

Happy New Year all! Thanks to BIWI for doing this again. Looking forward to cutting out the stuff that tastes ok but makes you feel yuck. Eggs and coffee with cream for breakfast. Wishing everyone a fab bootcamp!

PurpleWhirple · 01/01/2024 08:55

Morning all, happy new bootcamp!

I'm travelling today so haven't got much of a food plan beyond heading for Leon in the service station

We will be eating takeaway at home this evening but I'm already planning a kebab and salad from the local Lebanese restaurant

Tesco delivery comes tomorrow morning and then the bootcamp proper starts.

Does anyone have any suggestions for the remaining Christmas cake? I know I shouldn't have made it. I'm the only one in the house who likes it so if I don't eat it no one else will. I just feel so awful and wasteful throwing it in the bin. And I can't give it away, no one wants it at this point in the festivities! I think I will just chuck it and feel guilty.

PurpleWhirple · 01/01/2024 08:56

Meant to say, I will weigh in first thing tomorrow morning. No sclaes here

NotDonna · 01/01/2024 09:18

@PurpleWhirple by eating it you become the bin. Throw the cake away.

I’ve just completed the weigh in sheet. I’m a bit disappointed that I’ve gained so much this last 2 weeks. I did boot camp for the first time in Oct ‘22 and lost 11lbs (165 to 154) and I’d maintained 154/155 since then until I weighed on Boxing Day where I was up 4lbs in a matter of days. The only thing I can think of is carbs - I went skiing and ate bread with soup, had chips, had puddings and drank a fair bit, thinking I’d ski it off. Then it was Xmas. The two weeks combined have done me no favours. I feel sooooo very bloated and can’t wait to get back to ordered mindful eating of lovely veggies! My ultimate goal is 145lbs but 150 at the end bootcamp would be great.

The added issue is my DD14 has very low weight and very picky.

We are going to the Everyman cinema to see Wonka tonight (burgers etc) so I may need to eat before we go as I doubt there’s anything suitable on the menu.

PurpleWhirple · 01/01/2024 09:46

Thanks @NotDonna - it will be in the bin when I get home!

Everyman have an option for ordering your burger naked - ie without the bun. The fish one is gorgeous. Enjoy wonka, my whole family loved it

poorbuthappy · 01/01/2024 09:58

Morning all. Just added my weight on the sheet. Wrong cell. Cut and paste it and move a line. On my phone so can't work out how to replace line.
So sorry BIWI. 😬

Almost cried at weight.
I am so ready for this.

Happy new year everyone !

cathyandclaire · 01/01/2024 10:03

Happy new year and happy new boot camp!

I've been having way too many flat whites, snacking on protein bars and nuts, too much booze and not enough healthy, regular meals.

Hoping three low carb meals a day and lots of water will reset better habits. I've made a vat of leek and celeriac soup, so it'll be soup, eggs and salads this week.

I've been having those Starbucks egg bites when out and about, which are delicious but have 4-5g of carbs in two.

Applerumleandcustard · 01/01/2024 10:03

@PurpleWhirple pit the cake in the freezer in slices / fingers
then you’re not throwing in the bin ( or your tum ) and it’s there ready for next Christmas

magneticmoon · 01/01/2024 10:06

Weigh in this morning is 11.4 stone
Waist at largest point 42cm, thigh 24cm

Sunsnowsun · 01/01/2024 10:09

Hi BIWI thanks for running this, please can you add me to the spreadsheet , have weighed in at 154lbs, so ready for this and looking forward to feeling lighter and not having aching joints.

Lucienandjean · 01/01/2024 10:11

@PurpleWhirple or put the cake out for the birds. Then it's not 'wasted'.

Magnolia82 · 01/01/2024 10:27

Happy new year everyone!

I appear to have put on 6 pounds over Christmas?!! (Struggling to understand how to be honest as I didn't really think I'd eaten that much?)

I've just had smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and spinach for breakfast/brunch. Feels like such a treat but all low carb.

I just wondered how everyone makes sure they are getting enough fibre everyday? Any great ideas (especially on strict BC when not eating seeds/nuts)?

I do eat lots of veg but when I've previously tracked this it is still so low (I often hear recommendations to aim for around 30g fibre per day).

NotDonna · 01/01/2024 10:37

@magneticmoon good shout to measure too! I never do then always regret it when the weight stalls.

LazydaysofSummer · 01/01/2024 10:50

Happy Healthy New Year to all!
Can you add me to the sheet too please, starting weight is 143lbs.
Actually looking forward to having a dry month, hoping it resets all the bad habits I seem to have fallen into!
Whilst it would be great to lose a few pounds I really just want to embrace a healthier lifestyle so the first step is cut out the wine and drink much more water!

Saltysausage · 01/01/2024 10:55

Happy new year all.

The batteries have run out in my scales so I’ve measuered
my waist instead- to be honest I don’t want to know how much o weigh so a little relieved! Pretty horrified by my waist measurement but onwards and downwards!
Back to the gym tomorrow, would go today but it’s closed.

I had my gallbladder removed in September. Hoping it doesn’t cause any issues.

Waist - 123 cms

LowCarbingIn2024 · 01/01/2024 11:07

Good morning all and good luck to everyone.

I'm away with friends right now and staying another night, so can't log my weight until Wednesday. But please leave me on the spreadsheet @BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas. I'll jump on a bit late.
