Good Morning Campers Smile or it will be by the time most of you are reading this Wink

Here we are at Week 2 Smile. This is shaping up to be very supportive Boot Camp - everyone sharing their experiences, both the successes and the slip ups Flowers. You are all stars Star. I haven’t had to get the Big Stick out much as people have usually recognised what happened and worked out strategies for future challenges. Flowers

I’ll leave it to @FinallyHere to post the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness as people seem to have difficulties when I link from the App. HmmConfused

I’m expecting to see some great losses which is always really heartening Smile. It's always great seeing how newbies see that it really does work Smile

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition Shock. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway. We all need to KOKO.

That’s also why we encourage taking measurements - usually if the scales aren’t moving, then the inches are! Grin downwards of course Wink

One more week of strict Boot Camp and then we can choose to go on to Boot Canp Light for those of us who want to Smile

The Rules are still the same: you can find them on the OP of the Week 1 thread and also in the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

(I’m now on Week 3 but I’ll avoid talking about any of my Boot Camp Light variations for the moment Wink)

Finally caught up with the tread, thank you everyone, I do love to read how things are going for fellow lab carb-ers.

Special mention and very best wishes for @BloomingHazel hope it all gets sorted for you again. I'm amazed by your hosting family, and feeding them and everything, in the face of extraordinary circumstances

Friends, houseguests, one thing and another, but I managed to be really very good until yesterday - I had mixed berries with my yogurt at breakfast (houseguest had bought and prepared them) and then we were out at lunch and I had a sandwich because we were all having sandwiches PEER PRESSURE argh. ("Peer pressure" - as if! - like all the cool kids were standing around saying, if you want to be one of us you HAVE TO EAT THE SANDWICH. GO ON, EAT THE SANDWICH. Ha! No they weren't. Just me being wet.) And the effects were crazily evident, almost immediately. I have not felt hunger pangs in almost two weeks, even doing 10K hikes - but yesterday I could have eaten the carpet as soon as we got home in the late afternoon. SO eye-opening and instructive. (So please @prettybird , no big stick! I'm learning!)

The two things I've been missing the most are blueberries and walnuts. I normally like to have a handful of walnut halves a day, because I like their flavour, and the crunch, and they're so healthful. Same with blueberries. Perfect foods. Looking forward.

Oh, and wanted to say to @BloomingHazel , I hope everything sorts itself quickly, especially for your heroic neighbour!

LadyBird1973 · 02/07/2023 20:53

I started bootcamp light a day early. Sorry prettybird.
B - creamy coffee
L - steak burger with melted onion&chive cheese with gherkins
D - berries ffgy, cream and a handful of walnuts. I just couldn't face eggs or veg or meat this evening.
I may also have had an alcohol free gin but the tonic has some sugar in it (no artificial sweeteners though). Tonic was around 4.5g carb.
I do appear to have kicked the diet drink habit.
Been trying my best re water intake.
Am definitely much less hungry and not having cravings, just really wanted some fruit and nuts and not anything else.

@BloomingHazel hope everything is sorted out asap 💐

Bootcamp light started early , as we went to see the inlaws yesterday afternoon , very stressful
I don’t go very often as I find it difficult , but feel mean if don’t go , so make an effort and go , find it stressful and so it goes on … anyway , wine helped 👍

Today was better luckily !
I made smoked salmon rollitas for lunch ( smoked salmon , spread with FF Philly and black pepper , roll up ) with green salad

We had another nice walk this afternoon, 11 k steps , there was a craft and food fair at the local botanic gardens , luckily nothing I wanted to buy though ! And we’re members , so that made it a free afternoon out ✅

Roast shoulder of pork , cabbage and pepperonata ( I know , I know , red peppers )
But , excuses excuses .. my local Tesco had a rubbish fresh veg selection this morning , no cauliflower, no nice looking beans , and I was watching a cooking programme yesterday morning , and Angela Hartnett made something with red peppers and it looked lovely

that’s an insight into my weekend ( maybe more than you wanted to know 👍)
let’s see what the scales say in the morning

I love hearing about people’s weekends. Never too much information for me.
That explains the heroics somewhat @BloomingHazel thank heavens your house is made of bricks. So so scary!
@Dogsbumhair i joined a week late and given my shocker of a weekend I’m going to do full boot camp for the next two weeks minimum. So we can remind each other not to go lightly when other post about nuts & berries.
Good luck to everyone’s weigh ins tomorrow!

Good Morning Campers Flowers. Here is the link to the Week 3 spreadsheet. Hopefully the link will work but if it doesn't, can someone please do a link from a browser rather than the app Blush

So the Toby Carvery was a bust - really busy and we didn't book (looking at you DH - you had one job!!!) so ended up in a Wetherspoons a short walk from the venue which I was fairly miffed about but the only other options were a v expensive Italian restaurant, Subway or KFC 😡. Ordered the spicy half roast chicken with a mediterrean salad hoping that would mean lovely olives and feta but it came as a bowl of salad leaves topped with couscous. Picked the couscous of the top as best I could and nicked one of DH's onion rings, lots of water and a good time was had by all. Bands were ace and because the venue is in a residential area the headliners finished at 9 so I was home and in bed with herbal tea by 10.30 - v rock n roll!!!!!

Scales are down slightly this morning but I can definitely feel the after effects of a weekend lacking in veg - very sluggish this morning. I'm doing a new class this evening at 7.30 so awkward time, plan is to eat a big meal at lunchtime and have a snack afterwards. Am probably going to start IF as my only real concession to BCL during the week, nuts and berries aren't really my thing and if I relax the rules on alcohol it will be too easy to have a glass of wine every night so best to keep off it completely...........have a good day all, looking forward to hearing all about eveyone's losses!!!
