Morning all!

Another wet and dreary day. What happened to summer?!

Anyway, for its final outing, here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

It's not the end, of course - and I know many of you are keen to keep going until whenever the next Bootcamp starts. So post here for all the usual chat, banter, recipes, etc.

Did sombody say halloumi? Grin

prettybird · 11/07/2021 21:07

Ooh - I love halloumi Smile

Memo to self: remember that I have 2 packs of halloumi in the fridge Grin

Oneborneverydecade · 11/07/2021 21:50

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time @FusionChefGeoff and @ditavonteesed

My heart is not in it atm. I've gained 5/6lb and I can feel and see it. I don't know if I'm making excuses but I genuinely feel more hungry. The only upside is that my new job means I'm fasting till 3.30pm 3x per week but so far that hasn't been reflected on the scales. I'm also more spotty. I'm mostly hanging on in hoping that something will trigger me into finding my resolve.

MrsKoala · 11/07/2021 21:58

Next Weekend Lidl have halloumi on special for 99p. I’m going to stock up. They had goats cheese this weekend and I got a few of those too.

Been a terrible weekend eating here as we’ve all had the lurgy. Nhm was a disaster as by the time we got there it was apparent we were all going down with a cold. Left after an hour. Spent Friday night with 3 coughing, crying and fluey dc while feeling fluey myself. We had COVID tests Saturday (negative). No princess picnic or disco picnic, instead everyone moping round. I ate a packet of cinnamon bagels and a bucket of rocky road. Felt worse but couldn’t face cooking. Going to try to regroup tomorrow when I hope to feel better. Had a shocking period too which hasn’t helped.

In good news though H has got a great contract for 6 weeks and we’ve booked 5 days in Malta for just the 2 of us when it ends in August as we’re so exhausted and overwhelmed. I really just need a break now. The house has become unmanageable and I’m drowning in what needs to be done without any time or the resources to do it. I don’t even know where to start. This week I’m going to focus everything on decluttering before the holidays when it’s just fire fighting and no chance to get anything done. So I can’t spend ages meal planning, shopping or cooking. But I’ve got a freezer full of meat and quite a lot of veg and salad in so meals shouldn’t be too hard. Even if not fantastically exciting.

Bryonyshcmyony · 12/07/2021 08:26

I drank a good half a bottle of wine last night and then dreamt that I ate loads of chocolate and sweets and cake. Was quite relieved that it wasn't true.

FusionChefGeoff · 12/07/2021 11:33

for @MrsKoala that sounds really rubbish. I hope that today / this week improves.

The holiday sounds amazing!!!

You sound like you've got a good plan / strategy.

I'm going to experiment making some different flavoured mayos I think so I can quickly jazz up the classic meat / salad combos that inevitably do get a bit dull eventually. I've got mustard, smoky chilli oil, basil oil, lemon and dill oil and going to get some garlic oil. That's quite a good range of condiments I reckon!

@Bryonyshcmyony you might not know as it was earlier in Bc that I mentioned it but I'm a recovering alcoholic and regularly have dreams that I've drank / never stopped and they're horrible Grin so I definitely know that feeling of relief!!!!!

I've managed a run and feeling more positive.

Spent an HOUR menu planning yesterday and need to shop but should be good for this week then.

L: chicken and bacon Caesar salad with Parmesan
D: sausages, kale, green beans and gravy maybe some random freezer veg if I've got anything more exciting than that!

BIWI · 12/07/2021 12:14

Welcome @KateF!

(Sorry, I thought I'd posted this yesterday but apparently I didn't!)

I'm glad to hear you're finding health improvements as well as (hopefully!) weight loss. It often comes as a great surprise to people how much their health improves on this WOE.

I'm very late finding this thread but wanted to join in.

Lock down wasn't kind to me, I gained quite a lot of weight. In mid April I had a blood test results that worried e and made the choice to lose weight. I started low carbing as my dad has had great success with this over the years. In April I was 17st 6 and today I'm 15st 4 lb. This is the most weight I've ever lost but in reality I've still got another 3 stone to lose. I'm really enjoying it though, I have a new found love for nuts.

BIWI · 12/07/2021 13:13

Welcome @fantastaballs! And you have done brilliantly well so far.

Thanks Fusion. My plan went down the loo today as all the kids are off school with this horrendous hacking cough and cold. DD’s top lip is red raw and cracked from running so much. Fingers crossed she can go to preschool tomorrow otherwise I just get nothing done.

Please report back on the Mayo. I’ve still never made it and am a bit scared. Not sure why I’m quite a competent and adventurous cook. But it’s quite daunting. Same as custard for some reason. I think it’s egg yolks that puts me off.

FusionChefGeoff · 12/07/2021 14:41

@MrsKoala ah well life would be no fun if we always got what we expected wouldn't it!! Fingers crossed your plan can kick in tomorrow.

Go for it with the mayo honestly.

BIWIs easy recipe is just that - I've used a bowl or the best thing is the talk jug that came with my stick blender. It's worked every time. I go reeeeeaaal slow with the oil and heavy on the salt and it's great!

ElasticFirecracker · 13/07/2021 08:56

Just saying Hi,

Hope you are all doing well.

I've had norovirus which was most unpleasant and could only eat ice lollies for quite a few days.

I'm now going to catch up with the thread and will post about my weight later.

X

Still following but not as strict
Had a weigh in today and so happy 142.6
Have a busy few weeks of birthdays and holidays to end of July so have a bit of leeway for my goal of 150lb
Had a lovely dinner with my dad and sisters on Friday night went completely off plan weighed Friday morning at 146.4 had a good splash out Friday night and got straight back to this woe Saturday so I'm happy I can have a nice dinner once in a while and get back to it straight after.

BIWI · 13/07/2021 09:12

Hi @ElasticFirecracker! Sorry to hear you've been poorly, but how novel to hear talk about a different virus Grin

Hopefully you're well on the way to being mended.

Brilliant! That's exactly how maintenance should be/should work. Smile

Well done to everyone for some lovely consistent losses - whether that was achieved by slow steady adherence to the rules, remembering to drink the water, or CurvyKoala's 15 vodka weight loss trick

I need to hear about this trick, venusandmars. A bit demanding of me as I’ve skipped April Bootcamp entirely—sorry—but I’m guessing it involved vomiting and a few days not eating?

Lovey to pop in and say hi. Have read a few of the threads and it looks as though loads are doing well.

I’ve been in maintenance mode though there are still a couple stones to lose. No significant gain, which is good. The same 5lbs keep coming and going, which is what I imagine maintenance at goal weight to be like.

Oh, and I saw the sun pop out this morning—clever little hiding bigger—so y’all know that means WATER! WATER! WATER!

MrsKoala · 13/07/2021 10:48

After the weekend of just eating what I could (fish and chips last night) I’m happy I’ve only put on 2lb. Going to go back to BC lite this week in preparation for next weekend.

It’s going to be: roast lunch at a relatives house (just meat and green veg for me - easy). Then dinner at Wagamama’s (as discussed upthread - difficult). Hotel cooked breakfast (easy). Then the real challenge starts 2 days at Legoland. Lunch will be the pizza and pasta place which doesn’t serve anything else. Dinner is the bricks restaurant which is cheap filler food. Breakfast will be easy as again just the bacon and eggs etc. Then lunch again at the pizza and pasta place. Then home but probably McDonald’s on the way. I can’t bring picnic food as got no fridge or prep area in the hotel. Any suggestions welcome!

BIWI · 13/07/2021 10:54

Boo! I'm in self-isolation having been pinged by the NHS app this morning Sad

Turns out my PT, who I trained with on Saturday, has just tested positive for Covid.

Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time on MN over the next few days!

MrsKoala · 13/07/2021 10:55

Cross post @ShagMeRiggins it was a fairly predictable heavy weekend where I had 15 large vodkas and didn’t eat much for 2-3 days. It resulted in a woosh (unsurprisingly!)

So nice you popped by to catch up. I’ve missed you this bc.

Bryonyshcmyony · 13/07/2021 11:22

Oh no @biwi

What a pita. Hope you don't catch it Sad

prettybird · 13/07/2021 11:26

Bummer @BIWI Sad

Ds called us in a panic last Tuesday as one of his friends, who he'd seen when he was down visiting us, had just had a positive PCR test.

He was just about to have a driving lesson and more importantly Wink full contact, pre-season rugby training was starting back that night Shock

He cancelled the driving lesson but after double-checking timings, we established that he'd seen his friend before the "critical" period - so he was safe to go to rugby training Grin

BIWI · 13/07/2021 11:26

Me too! I'm double jabbed, so hopefully all will be OK but have ordered a test anyway.

@ShagMeRiggins I need to hear about this trick, venusandmars. A bit demanding of me as I’ve skipped April Bootcamp entirely—sorry—but I’m guessing it involved vomiting and a few days not eating? don't think that was me - not eating is not in my lexicon, and I've a constitution as robust as an ox, so not a lot of D&V despite eating unwashed strawberries (another thread entirely!)

MrsKoala · 13/07/2021 14:57

I think Shagme was quoting you from a post where you referenced my unorthodox weight loss technique of drinking too much and then not being able to eat for a few days. I wouldn’t recommend this at home kids, remember I am a trained professional!

prettybird · 13/07/2021 14:57

Didn't notice you sneak back on to the thread @ShagMeRiggins Wink - good to see you back Thanks. I was starting to worry about you Wink - and missed your repeated exhortations to drink water Grin which I'll admit I've been struggling with Blush

I also don't ever wash strawberries Shock - never had any ill effects famous last words Wink
