Morning all!

here's the spreadsheet . If you haven't already seen it, check out the new info for veg/nuts/fruit that @AthelstaneTheUnready has added to it. Updated (and hopefully now the most accurate) data for all three categories, and all grouped into traffic light categories - green to eat freely (when allowed, in the case of nuts and fruit), amber to be more cautious about and red to avoid as much as possible.

If there's a particular ingredient that isn't on there, just let me know and I'll find the data for that and add it.

And now to week 4

A reminder that this week is also one where you're unlikely to see much loss - and possibly may see a gain. Just remember that THIS IS PERFECTLY NORMAL! Don't panic, but just KOKO and things should get moving again from next week.

Off to catch up with the end of last week's thread now. Hope everyone has an enjoyable bank holiday Monday Flowers

Makinggoodchoices I think the Godiva 90% was higher in carbs than most 85%s and a lot higher than Lindt 90%, hence the niceness!

cheeseisthebest · 05/05/2021 15:17

I can't manage higher than 75% chocolate!
Nowlook thar is crap but at least you have a few days peace and quiet.
Not sure about eggs in soup?

Just been to a friends house, sat outside and she made me green veg soup with greek yoghurt stirred in, peanuts to nibble and mozzarella, tomato and basil salad. So thoughtful!

Thinnerlikeachickendinner · 05/05/2021 15:26

Wow @cheeseisthebest that is a nice friend!

prettybird · 05/05/2021 15:48

Forgot to mention earlier the fantastic scales victory of this morning: under 11 stone ShockSmile at 10st 13.25lb Smile

Next target is now 4lb away: to get into the "3 digit" weights, ie 10st 9lb or under. Iirc, that would also mean I was into a "normal" BMI. Halo

Just been out to lunch with dh and my dad at Sarti's (a Glasgow institution for those that know Glasgow Wink): I was virtuous and had the expensive meat option, rather than their admittedly fabulous pizza or pasta and asked for the mashed potatoes served with "Sarti's Tuscan sausage" to be swapped for greens. It was soooo filling Grin

Andi2020 · 05/05/2021 16:01

@prettybird well done on your loss and my target is 11st not far off so hoping this Monday want to do it slowly so be able to keep the pase for the 13 weeks.

Never tried egg in soup that some off you are talking about.
And the chocolate I take 1 square on a Saturday and Sunday
Sticking to my water and daily May walk but as someone else said weather so changeable Sun to hail.

Was ready to reach for a bag of crisps when my 17yo asked do I have a college fund for her. She knows fine well we are not well off and I was only one working while dh was at home looking after them to this year. It made me feel like a crap parent that I don't have a college fund.
I had food clothes holidays good xmas and birthday presents after school activities that was all I could manage. Grinteenagers.

BIWI · 05/05/2021 16:11

@Andi2020 that college fund is called 'student loan' and she had better get used to the idea!!!

FinallyHere · 05/05/2021 16:32

Congratulations @prettybird on the choices and the results.

@Andi2020 if only you had sent the now teenagers up a few chimneys when they were small enough...

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 05/05/2021 16:36

@Random789

I'm growing to quite like the Montezuma 100% choc. In fact I had my first major slip-up last night, when I accidentally ate half a bar of it instead of a ladylike three squares.
Half a bar?? Bloody hell, you’re hardcore, I now feel I must try it Blush
ouchmyfeet · 05/05/2021 16:46

I can't stomach more than a square or two of the montezuma 100%. Somehow it still hits the craving spot even though I don't like it 🤷‍♀️

cheeseisthebest · 05/05/2021 16:47

Andi feel your pain, my teenager is moaning a lot about getting the bus again. They don't know they're born, etc etc!

Fantastic loss prettybird!

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 05/05/2021 16:51

@Oneborneverydecade @nowlook dammit I’d gatecrash love to join you too. Bit too low and too left for me, stuck in the borderlands here 🤷🏻‍♀️

Has there ever been a BC meet-up btw? Tbh you all sound like people who would be even more amazing and fun in RL.

MIM is slow here, but Muck Out May is doing better. 2 more carrier bags out today I hope

@Jollyholibobs eggs as ‘croutons’ you say?? throws in even more eggs

@Hopeislost
There are low carb brownies?? And wherefore dwelleth this delicious treat? and can I eateth it on BC?

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 05/05/2021 16:54

Erm, that’s meant to indicate you are all amazing and fun on here and you must be equally fabulous in RL - not how it sounded 🤦🏻‍♀️ there’s a reason I’m not supposed to talk to people

Very poor form nowlook!

Sounds a lovely lunch, what a great friend cheeseisbest

Congratulations prettybird, and your lunch looks delicious.

colouringindoors · 05/05/2021 17:48

Don't get me started on teenagers 🤣 I'm finding my dd16 v irritating at the moment. Apparently I'm not very enthusiastic about [insert anything she's interested in] compared to [insert name of anyone else that doesn't have to live with her]. She finishes school at half term and although she is a good kid I'm dreading having her around so much and loosing my precious alone time.

colouringindoors · 05/05/2021 17:50

Beery ikwym! Yes would be fun! Imagine the bring and share picnic we could have!

85% Lindt for me. Can eat the 90% but I def get more pleasure from the 85% for not many more carbs.

BSky · 05/05/2021 17:51

Well done Prettybird for your scale victory and @Makegoodchoices for your NSV - very impressive.

I have never heard of boiled eggs in soup before Bootcamp threads. Is it a low carb thing? I’m a bit 🤔 but it’s getting good reports....

Ninkanink · 05/05/2021 18:18

Hi everyone! 👋 at campers old and new! 🌷 I’m not on BC this time but I am trying to dip into the threads every so often, just because we’re such a lovely bunch and I miss it (even though I’m trying to limit my engagement with MN for a while, just for my own balance and well-being).

Good to see you back @ilovecherries - I met you on the Toast thread recently (Under my Christmas username, I think) and we had a brief chat about BC. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had such an awful time but I’m glad that you’re feeling able to focus on self-care now to try to get back to feeling well.💐

💐💐💐 to @ZiggZagg and all who have been and still are dealing with really difficult things. I’m sending positive vibes for peace and hope where needed.

We’ve had sleet today. In May. 😒

Anyway I just wanted to pop in and say hi and wish you all a brilliant continued bootcamp!

Ninkanink · 05/05/2021 18:27

*changes that to ‘waves to’

(‘Waves at’ makes me sound like the Queen)

Chunkymonkey123 · 05/05/2021 18:36

Thinking of you @ZiggZagg

Food today:
B: scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese
L: chicken drumsticks with lettuce and coleslaw
D: heck sausages with cabbage and fried mushrooms

I think I might be a pound lower but need to be good this weekend. My alcohol intake has drastically reduced over the past three weeks which is a good side benefit.

I need to buy some dark chocolate, I had a Cadbury chocolate button the other day and it was horribly sweet, my taste buds are changing!

Thanks to all those who recommended almond milk in tea, it’s a good alternative to cows milk.

Jellycatspyjamas · 05/05/2021 18:44

Oh my, today hasn’t been a good one. Woke with a migraine, took the day off work to sleep it off and then got a call from school to pick my DS up because he was sick. Spent the day nursing a small child while very poorly myself. Food has consisted almost entirely of toast and biscuits. Will sleep it off tonight and draw a line from tomorrow.

StuntNun · 05/05/2021 18:52

Get well soon Jellycatspyjamas sometimes low carb has to go out the window when you're not well. Your health and recovery has to come first.

B: almond cheese muffins, kefir.
L: burgers, salad, coleslaw, cheddar. Small piece of chocolate.
D: chicken thighs, celeriac tartiflette, mushrooms fried in butter. Bloody lovely.
It's been all about the dairy today. Blush

Hopeislost · 05/05/2021 18:59

@OnceUponAMidnightBeery @Oneborneverydecade You can make low carb versions of almost anything! I made brownies for a family event using 100% chocolate, Truvia and coconut flour. They were nice but definitely an occasional treat as a) they're not really in the spirit of bootcamp and b) I'm liable to eat a whole tray of them.

Andi2020 · 05/05/2021 19:16

@BIWI yes told her about student loan she didn't like the idea of over 4 years having a big debt she doesn't necessarily have to gp to university and has the party live style out of her system just wants to go away and live with her bf they can both do apprenticeship for what they are choosing to do and have another year in Alevel and might not even be together then but now they think they are forever Smile

@cheeseisthebest your right I was
Tell her yesterday when I was a child to I started to work I lived on hand me downs and clothes from relatives never got new clothes makeup CDs or activities
Never had a family holiday
Paid for my college from my own money as I worked during day and studied at college at night for 3 years . Good luck with summer break the good thing about covid19 not so many parties.

@colouringindoors its nice having them around but we also need a bit of space.
My boss asked me today did I want to come back into office I said I'm happy enough at home may change my mind in June when school breaks as have 3 teenagers.
Sorry for derailing from food talk.
Really feel a difference of not been hungry
I used wake up and needed cereal and tea and toast before work
I do school run now have cup of green tea at 8 and greek yogurt at 9.30
Lunch Salmon spinach slice cheese
2 tomatoes and dressing
Dinner quiche without crust and green beans
2.5l water.
I'm not the best cook but get buy
Your foods are all so tempting

BestIsWest · 05/05/2021 19:18

I find the almond milk great in tea (the Alpro unsweetened one is zero carbs) but vile in coffee.
Just eaten some sausages and a bit worried about the carb count. They’d come from a butcher so there wasn’t a wrapper but I needed to use them up.
