Morning all.

[[Here's the Spreadsheet as always
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18CKhdQ3FlGz_8H53AA2Pqm4xmvGLHO6vBrkNWCkSO48/edit#gid=788946144 ]]

I hope everyone had a good week, and that any Mother's Day treats haven't messed things up too much Grin

So we enter our final two weeks. Still time to shift a couple of those pesky pounds - especially if you keep focused and stay strict. And a reminder, channelling my inner Shag, WATER, WATER, WATER!

@Midlifemission thank you (still 8lb to go to 5st but I'll get there)

@ditavonteesed you definitely look younger and slimmer in the face

Ended week 2 of C25K tonight, I cannot believe I'll be expected to run for 3 mins tomorrow.

The fake doner reminds me of kebabs that our farm shop only sell in the summer. Can't wait for bbq weather

EarlGreyHot · 15/03/2021 23:26

Loving the pics of where pps started and where they are now. Very inspiring!

For a quick tasty tea we sometimes do what DH calls a deconstructed burger - fry up beef mince, shallots, mushrooms, and whatever spices or herbs you fancy, top with jalapeños and grated cheese and melt under the grill. Serve with salad and plenty of mayo. Or we often have steaks on a Friday night as we're normally too tired to cook and they're practically fast food. We throw sliced mushrooms in the hot frying pan with a slab of butter while the steaks are resting. Quick salad and dinner's on the table in about 10 minutes tops

BustleInYourHedgerow · 16/03/2021 04:00

Thanks @stuntnun and @midlifemission I'm hoping to drop a pound or two post period! Just worry I am not doing things right.

Re target weight... I'm not even going to set one for myself. I need to get below 11 stone and I'll think about it.

That deconstructed burger sounds delicious @Earlgreyhot

A great takeaway I had last week @fusionchefgeoff was a Mexican burrito box. Spicy chicken with sour cream, guacamole and salad. The rest of the family had burritos.

It's St Patrick's Day on Wednesday. We usually go to the parade and go to an Italian restaurant. No parade this year so we will go for Another Fucking Walk and get takeaway for the restaurant. I'm thinking caesar salad with no croutons and some meatballs. I'd love the chips and calamari but not enough to sabotage myself.

B: cheese muffin, cup of tea with cream
D: steak, celeriac chips and asparagus
S: yoghurt with a teaspoon of cacao and raspberries

Still drinking the zero electrolytes. My rhr has dropped again to 50. Happy enough with that its my normal range.

ditavonteesed · 16/03/2021 06:59

@nowlook I darent go back there, I keep trying to think of what I can say. I will today I'm not leaving @BIWI on her own.

Bestbees · 16/03/2021 07:50

Morning all. Bloated from period today and really noticed the difference in my usually much flatter tummy.

Ate rather a lot of seed crackers and cheese last night too so probably need not to make those. Too much like my bread nemesis. Plan for today is

L mackerel and avo salad
D seabass, lemon and parsely cauli cous cous and buttery green veg. Yog, berries and flaxseed.

Justcallmecaptainobvious · 16/03/2021 08:08

Well this morning I am wearing a size 18 top! Admittedly I think it’s meant to be oversized and it’s slim on me, but it looks fine and I’m taking it as a NSV Smile.

Having lost a bit off my tummy I think I need to get assessed for diastasis rectic. Definitely have that telltale middle bulge. I used to know a good women’s physio, but unfortunately we’ve moved since then. Will be googling after school drop off!

MrsOmelette · 16/03/2021 08:19

Morning all. Thought I’d try the size 14 jeans that I bought a couple of weeks ago and could only just squeeze in to (like an over-stuffed sausage), and they fit comfortably! First size 14s in 5 years, very happy. Okay, they are stretchy style but don’t care 😆😆. And the sun is shining here in the Highlands today 😊. Hope you all have a positive day.

MrsOmelette · 16/03/2021 08:25

@ouchmyfeet I empathise with not feeling you are losing, I have 100lbs to lose in total. Someone on here suggested I broke it down to lots of little goals, not just lbs lost but also different bmi/% lost/getting in to overweight rather than obese etc. It is less daunting somehow. At the minute my focus is on getting down to 15stone by Easter if possible.

Pleaseandthankyou · 16/03/2021 08:54

@Oneborneverydecade that is a fabulous achievement. What difference do you feel? I have lost a stone but it has mostly come off my waist. I really notice when I am sitting down.

LongtimelurkerL · 16/03/2021 09:03

Yay for the NSV @MrsOmelette and @Justcallmecaptainobvious! Well done.

Plan here -
B - Black coffee x lots
L - Whatever school offer which is low carb with added guac and mayo!
D - Cauli rice, chorizo, prawns and celery jambalaya (all cooked in butter)

Motivateinmotion · 16/03/2021 09:31

Your jambalaya sounds lovely @LongtimelurkerL can you share the recipe please?

MrsOmelette · 16/03/2021 09:40

@LongtimelurkerL thanks and I’d love your jambalaya recipe too please, if possible.

LongtimelurkerL · 16/03/2021 10:03

@MrsOmelette and @Motivateinmotion it's just this but I don't put in the tomatoes or onion and I replace the rice with cauli rice

ShagMeRiggins · 16/03/2021 10:06

No parade this year so we will go for Another Fucking Walk...

Don’t know why but this actually made me snort with laughter, Bustle.

Perhaps it was the clear rage dripping from such benign words. Honestly, this should be trademarked, or hashtagged, or used as a book title. #AFW

MrsOmelette · 16/03/2021 10:15

@LongtimelurkerL ooh that sounds delicious!

Not food-related whatsoever but could any of you wise people recommend a strapless bra for the summer for the larger lady? I’d love to wear a bandeau maxi dress but am stumped about suitable underpinnings. Hahaha that makes me sound like a Victorian Pier.

cheeseisthebest · 16/03/2021 10:21

Congrats on the NSVs! Also loving another fucking walk, sick of walks.
I too have the overhang, would like to do something about it.

BIWI · 16/03/2021 10:21

Just catching up - apologies if I've missed anyone/anything!

@Doilooklikeatourist I was very sorry to hear about your business sale - but fingers crossed that as we come out of lockdown you can get things up and running again

@FusionChefGeoff batch cooking is definitely your friend! But if your family is eating differently from you, then easy-fix things I'd have would range from the supremely easy - a bowl of yoghurt (sometimes I add crunchy peanut butter and some vanilla bean paste too), to a cheese omelette. Having the SLC bread around does increase your options though!

@AWryGiraffe if you feel you should be losing more than you have, list out for me all your meals from the last few days and let's see if we can spot anything. And also, you know I'm going to ask you, are you drinking all the water? Wink

@nowlook how disappointing that so much of that food was disappointing! I was a bit irritated by them as a company, to be honest. The food I did buy from them was delivered in a polystyrene box, which is a nightmare in terms of recycling. I contacted them to ask if I could send it back to them, so that they could re-use it, but they refused. Just shrugged their shoulders about it. By contrast, I had a meat delivery from Farmisons the same week, and they have a scheme where you post it back to them, and then they refund your postage. Admittedly this is in the form of a voucher, rather than cash, but at least the polystyrene gets re-used. Also, from the LC company, I bought some low carb flour - no ideas or recipes as to how to use it, what it might work best in. I tried to make pizzas with it, and they were really not good (apart from my toppings, of course, which were awesome Grin). Again, when I asked the company they had nothing to say and asked me to let them know what I'd made with it/how it had turned out!

Thanks for the support as well Wink

@Oneborneverydecade I so know that feeling about the C25K! I have to do R2W4 today - 3 minutes/5 minutes/3 minutes/5 minutes of running. I know I can do it, because it did the first run a couple of days ago, but I'm really not looking forward to it. I also can't believe that not that long ago I was running for 30 minutes non-stop. It seems so far away - and so annoying that I gave up and had to go back to the beginning! But we can do it

@ditavonteesed you can see in your face that there's a difference! Well done (and thanks for the support Wink and apologies if your thread has ended up being derailed)

@Midlifemission brilliant! So nice, when you go from one category to the other, but especially when you end up in the healthy range Flowers and @cheeseisthebest you're so close to that too! Really well done

Glad to hear @BustleInYourHedgerow that the electrolyte supplements are helping you

@MrsOmelette Clothes fitting better/well is one of the best ways to measure progress - and also feels great, doesn't it?!

Phew - I think that's everyone. Have to gird my loins to go out for my run now. Think I might have another coffee first ... Grin

Thanks BIWI.
What is this other thread, happy to offer support!
7lb to go and will be a healthy BMI, continue to feel very motivated.

ditavonteesed · 16/03/2021 10:57

@cheeseisthebest it's the next thread down in this topic, I started it for some advise which @BIWI gave me straight away and ha since turned into someone basically just gunning for biwi. I am considering asking Mumsnet to remove it as it's got so nasty.

cheeseisthebest · 16/03/2021 11:01

Just read it. Sad

venusandmars · 16/03/2021 11:01

I have realised that I've dropped out of doing my March challenges. So I'm back to the start on my plank (one day I will get to a minute), and I've spent time this morning being kind to my feet. The sun is shining here today and I look forward to getting my tootsies out in the warmth and fresh air.

B - coffee with cream
L - avocado, then Asian-style slaw (red cabbage, carrot, peppers, beansprouts in a dressing with fresh lime, chilli, lemongrass, ginger and coriander).
D - shaksukka made with whatever veg comes in the box, probably leeks and kale...

Oh and lots of lovely water.

venusandmars · 16/03/2021 11:04

I look forward to getting my tootsies out in the warmth and fresh air

Just to be clear (because I know there are some naughty minds on here - @ShagMeRiggins I'm looking at you Grin ) I am talking about my feet and toes!!

ShagMeRiggins · 16/03/2021 11:09

MrsOmelette I am also searching for the perfect strapless—my tits are enormous, alas—and the best luck I’ve ever had has been with a full strapless bustier. I mean, it’s basically a corset but it works. Anything that doesn’t anchor through the rib cage and lower back has been essentially useless.

That said, I’m dubious as to whether that would give you that light, flowing feeling in a summer maxi.

Ninkanink · 16/03/2021 11:15

I’ve also got big breasts and I’ve found the wonderbra strapless bra to be good (the one with the ‘hands’ over your boobs). But it’s quite cumbersome so it doesn’t really feel summery or light. Sad times.

@ShagMeRiggins thank you for info regarding gel lamps.👍
