Morning all.

[[Here's the Spreadsheet as always

I hope everyone had a good week, and that any Mother's Day treats haven't messed things up too much Grin

So we enter our final two weeks. Still time to shift a couple of those pesky pounds - especially if you keep focused and stay strict. And a reminder, channelling my inner Shag, WATER, WATER, WATER!

@BustleInYourHedgerow

Congratulations to those who lost and KOKO to those who didn't!

Welcome @Blurpblorp and welcome back @Livelongandprosper.

I've sts, second week in a row. Its week five for me hopefully that's all it is and I'll lose next week because I'm feeling a bit disheartened. Period arrived with a vengeance this morning also. I stayed on plan this week bar 100g peanuts and that small slice of soda bread. Haven't had a drink in over a week either. (Because I've been working night shifts, I'm not a saint. )Might weigh again on Wednesday see if there any change.

Don't be disheartened I have STS for two weeks at a time several times over the last two Bootcamps yet the lbs lost still add up over time.
Justcallmecaptainobvious · 15/03/2021 18:47

Could have sworn I posted earlier but if I did it’s disappeared...

@DinoRhino sorry your courgetti was disappointing! What was your sauce made from? I’m going to make an assumption and say: not enough fat! Especially vegan to be honest, I find it very difficult to include enough fat if I cook vegan on this WOE.

I’ve STS this week. About what I expected, my meals have been right but I’ve been bored hungry and have eaten far too much, not drunk enough water, and nicked the odd chicken nugget from my child...

I have no idea what my target weight is. I’ve picked a number in the middle of the heathy BMI range, just for a measurement. But I never weighed myself when younger so I have no idea what weight I was at different ages (and I was already a size 16 at age 16).

ouchmyfeet · 15/03/2021 18:59

Thanks all for the encouragement, particularly @Ninkanink. I have recovered from my strop this morning and am back to my buttery veg and gallons of water. The rational part of me knows that everything I'm doing is making a difference even if it's not showing on the scales at the moment. I take progress photos but can't be bothered with measurements, I can feel that in my clothes. Part of the problem with being as enormously fat as I am is the amount of weight loss required before you can see any impact. I lost well over a stone before I could see any difference at all in the photos.

I've felt like a boiling pot of rage all day, not just targeted at my weight, so I'm going to have an early night and hope I wake up feeling zen

ditavonteesed · 15/03/2021 19:34

Targets is such a weird thing isn't it, I think the targets I've set myself are too low, I'm trying to spend some actual time looking at my body after spending many years avoiding it. Trying to go on what I look like in clothes and how I feel.

My first target is a bmi if 25. Then I think I'll try and assess it. But your right so many years spent being so negative to myself that I don't know how to be positive. It's a work in progress.

I also don't want my face to look old, I've started a proper skin care routine in the hope of staving it off.

Before boot camp and today photos. I can't see any difference but people keep telling me I've changed.

cheeseisthebest · 15/03/2021 19:35

Well I've had couscous for tea then opened the dark choc. Must never ever open the dark choc as I dont have an off button.
I'm learning but it's taking a while to sink in!

ditavonteesed · 15/03/2021 19:35

Ok only one photo loaded, and now I can't get the other one to attach, are we only allowed to post one pic a day now?

prettybird · 15/03/2021 19:47

If you're doing it from your phone, sometimes I find that MN won't load the picture unless I've just edited it on the phone to make sure it was properly downloaded, in order to upload it Confused

ditavonteesed · 15/03/2021 20:03

Thanks that worked. This pic is Christmas just before i started.

Midlifemission · 15/03/2021 20:39

In the spirit of thinking about health and not just what the scales say this is my pre bootcamp BMI and where I am today.

I feel like a different person and so happy to know the BMI is back under control.

@ditavonteesed can definitely see a change in your progress photos ! I think you look younger too !

ditavonteesed · 15/03/2021 20:49

@Midlifemission wow that is so impressive. How long did that take you?

cheeseisthebest · 15/03/2021 20:51

That's really impressive! I've just done the same.

Ninkanink the gel nails was Mylee I do recommend but I also think if you have your special gel base:colour:top coat you can get away with buying only an LED/UV lamp.

Feel free to PM for specifics. For the record, I make no money from this, I just needed something to keep my nails strong during lockdown.

ShagMeRiggins · 15/03/2021 20:54

Great photos Dita.

So much to comment on, and I can’t. Boo hoo me.

DRINK ALL THE WATER DO IT NOW.

FusionChefGeoff · 15/03/2021 21:01

@ChristMyArse snap!! I'm starting to get the hang of the yo yo pound(s) though so am taking solace in the lower weight I saw last week and just hanging in until it reappears

@Ninkanink I completely agree with you about trying to find a weight which is realistic based on who I am now and not who I used to be. If I had any of my clothes from way back I would be so disheartened. Plus I had a VERY unhealthy lifestyle so don't want to be that thin again it's dangerous as we get older!

Having said that I am keen to get to the lower end of my 'happy with' range so that I know I've got wiggle room if I need it when life starts opening back up!

Can I ask a question about those can't be arsed / got no time to cook days?!?

I used to love taking the pressure off with a takeaway / shove it in the oven dinner.

What do you have now which can be a fallback??

Jellycatspyjamas · 15/03/2021 21:18

I make extra casserole/curry whatever and freeze it for another day, can be cooked from frozen and is tasty and feels like a proper meal. I made a curry tonight with left overs steak from yesterday’s dinner and there’s enough left over for my DH and I to have for dinner. I also have soup in the freezer should the fancy take me.

I’ll sometimes make an omelette with salad which is quick and easy and I have SLC bread in the freezer if I want cheese on toast or a sandwich. My last go to is a ready roasted chicken with a decent salad (ie not just lettuce leaves and cucumber). It takes a different way of thinking about convenience but can be done.

Bestbees · 15/03/2021 21:20

@FusionChefGeoff I try to double cook so I have things in freezer like melazane. Omelettes are speedy. Marinaded chicken and salad? Probably some ready meal curries are OK?

Midlifemission · 15/03/2021 21:21

Thanks both it’s very pleasing I must say !
This is my second bootcamp so I started 12th October I think .

Well done @cheeseisthebest that’s quite a shift too .

I am obsessing about all the data on my Renpho scales too now I have been educated on how to use them!
My metabolic age has also dropped 4 years and is now pretty much spot on my real age. I guess that’s pretty good given that I don’t actually do any exercise apart from walking.

FusionChefGeoff · 15/03/2021 21:37

Oh yes ready roasted chicken and a nice salad is a good option but I have that sort of thing a lot for lunch.

I do batch cook but sometimes the freezer is out of synch with my busy days - or I'm sick of
whatever vat of something is in there.

I suppose the SLC bread does open up the cheese and ham toastie.

But if the rest of the family are tucking into fish and chips I will have to be very careful not to get resentful which could be a slippery slope!

Doilooklikeatourist · 15/03/2021 21:58

@DinoRhino

Ok attempted courgetti pasta and my limited experience on this is it's probably more suited to noodle dishes? Did it with a tomato / chilli and kale topping sauce thing.

Edible but definitely no more than 2* but it was vegan as well...

Courgetti needs butter and sea salt flakes IMHO

Had a much better day ( thank goodness ! )
We’re over the shock of the sale falling through and have decided to stay here for at least another year , get the business up and running again ( when we’re allowed too ) and make the house more comfy for us
Lots of phone calls today , and we’ve started making a patio and weeded a border ( creeping buttercup grrr )
Plenty of heavy lifting and exercise !

L Cheese bacon and mushroom omlette
D HM turkey burger , large mushroom , broccoli and avo and tomato salsa
Lots of water , lots of black coffee

ouchmyfeet · 15/03/2021 21:58

@FusionChefGeoff I sometimes make a lamb doner fakeaway at the weekends and fry a few slices of it for weekday lunches with leftover veg from the night before (purposely make too much). It's very quick and feels like a treat. I think I got the recipe from a Mumsnet thread years ago, this is what I use:

Pack of minced lamb
1 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp coriander
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp black pepper

Blitz in mixer until smooth, shape into roll, wrap in foil and bake for 30 mins.

Cool then slice thinly and refrigerate

When ready to eat fry the slices briefly to add colour

ouchmyfeet · 15/03/2021 22:00

A quick grilled massive mushroom with pizza topping on it is another lunch favourite of mine

AWryGiraffe · 15/03/2021 22:12

Hope everyone is ok. I've been bobbing about between 11'6 and 11'8 for so many weeks now. It does get frustrating but we just have to trust in the process. Really hoping to have a whoosh soon. I've not had any slips - my OH even got me low carb bagels for Mother's Day - so it must happen. Might be poor sleep slowing me down (thank you daughter).

Today was an aubergine veggie lasagne for lunch (leftovers) and I was quite full by dinner so just had fried cabbage, broccoli and mushrooms baked with cheese and a fried egg for dinner. I say just but it was very filling!

I've got a UK holiday booked for summer and there's a swimming pool so would really like to feel in better shape for then! It will be my 2 year olds first time in a swimming pool 😍

nowlook · 15/03/2021 22:16

Evening all!

Amazing set of losses today and inspiring photos/infographics Grin

So glad you're in a better frame of mind tourist!

Geoff, I gamely road tested some ready meals from the lowcarbfood company. They were by and large underwhelming with the exception of https://lowcarbfood.co/shop/chicken-leek-crumble/ which I'd recommend. I still have a curry and some thing with liver Envy- -> (not envy) to try.

It's very positive on this thread, isn't it Dita? WinkGrin

lurknolinger · 15/03/2021 22:45

AWryGiraffe can you share where your OH got low carb bagels from please?
