Morning all.

[[Here's the Spreadsheet as always

I hope everyone had a good week, and that any Mother's Day treats haven't messed things up too much Grin

So we enter our final two weeks. Still time to shift a couple of those pesky pounds - especially if you keep focused and stay strict. And a reminder, channelling my inner Shag, WATER, WATER, WATER!

I’ve set my ideal weight as quite a bit higher than my actual ideal weight, because after several years of having to work so hard and be so strict to get there and stay there, I decided it just wasn’t worth it for me. It was my DH who actually said to me, ‘but why do you feel you need to be the weight you were 20+ years ago as a young woman? What’s wrong with just being slightly over it’ and I decided he was absolutely right as I was making myself so unhappy and dissatisfied.

So although my younger self was very slim (a small size 8) even after having had my children, and even though my actual ideal now would be a small size 10, I’m happy to stay at a small size 12. That’s achievable without being obsessive about what I do or don’t eat, and I can still be happy with how I look and most importantly I feel much happier and contented in general.

LongtimelurkerL · 15/03/2021 11:03

@BIWI today's salad day is an outlier due to bad dinner planning on my part - child is having a jacket pot so was struggling to work out what I could have instead.

I never eat breakfast as when I do I then want to nibble all day - plus doing 16:8 at the same time as per the other thread that was started which i've rudely forgotten the author of....

LongtimelurkerL · 15/03/2021 11:04

Well done for all the losses everyone - very inspiring

Ninkanink · 15/03/2021 11:05

Gel nails question!! I’m sorry I’ve forgotten who it was that bought the two systems a few weeks ago...

Which ones did you buy and please could you review/recommend yet again? Just briefly as I know you already talked about it previously, I just doubt I’ll be able to find it again! Thank you.🌷

Ninkanink · 15/03/2021 11:07

Oh and I only got married a year ago so thankfully my weight was around about what it is now - as long as I can fit into my size 12 wedding dress (which wasn’t an actual wedding dress as it was a very small affair in a registry office) I’m happy!

Oneborneverydecade · 15/03/2021 11:37

2lb off for me. Only 8 off so far this bootcamp, compared to 1st last time but I'm quite close to target.
I'm still cracking on with my beginners shred, C25K (it's not getting any easier), skincare and vitamins.

Oneborneverydecade · 15/03/2021 11:42

@EarlGreyHot my target is to lose 5st. I'll still be 7lb heavier when I met my DH in 2010 but I've had 2 babies since.
Only 8lb to go. And then the tricky part begins - trying to stay there!

Oddbutnotodd · 15/03/2021 11:57

I’ve stayed the same this week but am now back to my pre boot camp - March 2020 - weight. Still lost 12lb since Jan 1st. Just going to keep with this way of eating and see how much more weight I will lose. I don’t want to set myself an unsustainable weight for the long term. There is a balance in all of this.

prettybird · 15/03/2021 12:02

I'm still hovering at 11st 5.5lb, as I have been now for weeks Hmm I'm going to do an egg fast for a few days in the hope of getting things moving Smile

Supper last night at my Dad's didn't help: he tries but still doesn't get it. In honour of Mother's Day, we had a crab and lobster pate (from M&S) which he served with wee batons of toast. Fortunately dh said straight away to me, "I'll take your two - but you can have one of them [FIL]".

Dad had done me a special pot for the main course as the "main" pot had red peppers in it (Envy

EarlGreyHot · 15/03/2021 12:28

Oneborneverydecade that's amazing, serious kudos to you for that weight loss! I'm with you on the maintenance. Never really reached that stage before! Even when I lost weight for my wedding 10 years ago I was back up 9lbs by the end of my honeymoon Hmm I suspect a degree of self sabotage comes into play for me...

ninkanink this resonates with me about avoiding being obsessive and getting to a point of happiness and contentment. I definitely am getting there as I'm pleased with progress and have noticed an increase in libido too which I assume is related to improved self-esteem Blush

LongtimelurkerL · 15/03/2021 12:29

Swapped my salad for lunch with courgetti and meatballs which I think it way better

DinoRhino · 15/03/2021 12:55

It's Tubby with a name change, turns out these threads move fast!

I'm off to make courgetti too, not sure what with yet. Day 1 here (I did Saturday then ate all the crap yesterday as I was emosh)

MrsOmelette · 15/03/2021 13:18

My Monday food: B - 90s toast with butter & peanut butter, L - leftover lemon cheesecake (DH says it was the best cheesecake he’s ever had and wants it to become family tradition on Mother’s Day bless him, he likes traditions.) Don’t plan on having dinner tbh as really not hungry. Tomorrow’s food: L - poached eggs on 90s toast & fried tomatoes & mushrooms, D - chicken & veg curry.

Bestbees · 15/03/2021 13:24

Just checking into the new thread.

Well done to those with losses.

I am 1lb down so 9.11 now which I am chuffed with!

@EarlGreyHot I have been very annoying about my target weight. Then after a stern talking to by@BIWI I stopped thinking about it, took up some more fasting an dhave lost 2lb. I think it was about moving my head space from numbers to health that did it.

Fast day here so nothing until dinner which will be mackerel and prawns with lots of stir fry veg and then some. Yog with seeds and berries.

@prettybird I was stuck at the same weight for about 6 weeks before it started shifting again, so sympathy to you!

ListenLinda · 15/03/2021 13:35

Just nodded off on the sofa and woke to the hospital calling, for them to tell me they have cancelled the op next week and they hope to do it beginning of April. Suddenly don’t feel like lunch now and feel all out of sorts (not just to an unscheduled snooze!).
Probably will just have a creamy coffee and wait until tea.

DinoRhino · 15/03/2021 13:36

Ok attempted courgetti pasta and my limited experience on this is it's probably more suited to noodle dishes? Did it with a tomato / chilli and kale topping sauce thing.

Edible but definitely no more than 2* but it was vegan as well...

Dreamqueen · 15/03/2021 13:59

Wow! there are some great losses this week. I've STS.

I'm a bit fed up. I've stuck to on the plan foods, FLGV,drinking 4l of water a day and haven't had any alcohol for 7 weeks. Also feel very bloated this morning. I'm well past menopause so it's not related to anything like that. Also doing the 16:8 IF

Todays food is
B-coffee with double cream & a chicken thigh with some leftover green veg
L-omelette with salad
D-fried up leftover lamb with FLGV

Oneborneverydecade · 15/03/2021 14:09

Thank you @EarlGreyHot I think I was the same, gained 2.5st following a breakup, lost it, met DH and started regaining it almost straight away Blush. Not this time though, this is a much more sustainable woe
I'm jealous of your improved libido

EarlGreyHot · 15/03/2021 14:59

bestbees that's interesting... I wonder why there's not more discussion out there about reaching goal and how we feel or see ourselves. Is that because the good ole diet industry generally sets us up to fail (not including BC in that sweeping generalisation!) so very few actually make it to goal so it's a non issue? Or is it as simple as despite reaching a healthy weight many of us retain damaging ways of thinking or seeing ourselves so we still have to figure that out... not something I've had to consider much before!

oneborneverydecade If I was really honest my increased libido may also be due to my DH becoming more attractive as he's shed 4 stone on this woe Blush

Livelongandprosper · 15/03/2021 15:16

Place marking, had an operation 2 weeks ago and have been eating whatever DP cooked for me ever since. Thanks to boot camp I had reached my target prior to that, which was to be within NHS BMI range prior to surgery, Gained 4lbs over the last 2 weeks, time to get back on the low carb wagon. Glad to see you are all still here and keeping on keeping on. I have a couple of threads to catch up on!

Bestbees · 15/03/2021 15:29

@EarlGreyHot you could search back on previous threads as we did talk about it. It made me realise how much negative self talk I do, and how much my attractiveness I link to my weight, when realistically 3lbs makes little different. I think the diet industry, with its 'goal weight' is very problematic as it creates a situation where you change to achieve the goal, but not make a lifestyle change if that makes sense. I follow rebel fit on insta which is interesting about this. So for me, when I started focussing on the bigger picture of health, my weight started moving, but also that became less important too. Though I appreciate I am a healthy weight so it might be different if you are at a different point. @Ninkanink point about choosing a weight carefully, that is sensible, maintainable and happy-making is simple and yet actually pretty profound.

BustleInYourHedgerow · 15/03/2021 16:06

Congratulations to those who lost and KOKO to those who didn't!

Welcome @Blurpblorp and welcome back @Livelongandprosper.

I've sts, second week in a row. Its week five for me hopefully that's all it is and I'll lose next week because I'm feeling a bit disheartened. Period arrived with a vengeance this morning also. I stayed on plan this week bar 100g peanuts and that small slice of soda bread. Haven't had a drink in over a week either. (Because I've been working night shifts, I'm not a saint. )Might weigh again on Wednesday see if there any change.

EarlGreyHot · 15/03/2021 16:20

Thanks @Bestbees I'll have a look back through the threads. I've been finding it hard to keep up this time. I'm committed to this woe now, not least because DH has another 3 st to lose. I'm finding it a more intuitive way to eat too as the blood sugar levels are stable so few cravings and easier to identify whether I'm actually hungry or bored, tired, emotional etc.

StuntNun · 15/03/2021 18:24

Bustle your period almost always causes a small gain or no loss on the scales. Give it a few days and you may well see a loss later this week.

Interesting discussion about target weights. For weight maintenance, BIWI recommends setting a target weight range rather than a specific weight. So if you set your target range as 9st to 9st 8lb you can be more relaxed about your food while you're inside the range but if you reach the upper limit then it's time to go back to strict Bootcamp to get you back to where you want to be.

My experience was that I wasn't happy with my figure when I reached my target weight of 9st 6lb. That was the weight I was as 25 when I got pregnant for the first time. But my figure at 37 after multiple pregnancies and c-sections was completely different from at age 25. I was carrying more fat and less muscle and a lot more fat around my abdominal area. I had to lose another 6lb and increase my muscle mass to get to the point where I was happy with my figure. Having said that, I'm currently 8lb over my ideal weight and my world hasn't fallen apart! Honestly I have too much other stuff going on at the moment and you can only spin so many plates at once. So long as my clothes fit well then it's fine and I'll work on getting back to my ideal weight when things have calmed down a little.

Midlifemission · 15/03/2021 18:33

Some amazing successes on here today. @Oneborneverydecade 5 stone is an incredible achievement !

I had a post AF whoosh today and weighed 3 lbs down after STS the past two weeks. I have actually hit a weight I set as my goal some time ago but plan to keep going a while longer as it was a bit of an arbitrary number.
At the time I set it it all still felt a bit unlikely that I would manage it but there you go.
@Ninkanink your wise words are making me have a think about what my goals should be, I have already decided I am not chasing the lower weights I used to aim for when younger and pre kids as I always found it hard to maintain and my thinner face is ageing me I fear !

Keep going everyone two more weeks to see what we can lose.
