Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to confess all

We're half way through now. Hopefully by now we should all be getting used to a low carb way of eating, which will mean we should be fat-adapted.

I hope you've enjoyed the recipe challenges, and I really look forward to reading more recipes.

I especially hope that the challenge has lured the lurkers out! Please post your recipes!

And, of course, here's hoping that we all have a good week ahead

Finally caught up. Happy Friday everyone. Lovely day here.

Welcome @FusionChefGeoff and if it was you who asked about running on this way of eating I am Marathon training on it. It’s great once you are carb adapted to not have to glug yucky gels and to be able to burn fat for fuel. First couple of weeks might be a bit hard but if you stick with it it’s well worth it. I am reading the book which BIWI mentioned but finding it a bit technical.

@Lyrata lovely dress. I have been known to consume 500g of yoghurt. It’s just so comforting. I always start by saying I will just have a spoonful. I now know two things 1. I rarely if ever need that spoonful if I was really hungry I would be considering something more substantial and 2. I rarely stop at just one. So I am working on that. One night this week I had to skip dinner as following a work related disappointment I comfort ate too much cheese and yoghurt. I was literally too uncomfortable to contemplate dinner. I am now focusing on how unpleasant that felt to remind myself when tempted again.

Lunch avacado salad and Brie
D aubergine parmigiana courgetti and broccoli.

Onelittlepiglet · 26/02/2021 09:25

Well done @cheeseisthebest - so glad the scales are moving for you!

I have also had awful problems with Hermes @prettybird - they have ‘lost’ so many parcels it’s ridiculous!

Today’s food will be:
B - table spoon of Greek yoghurt and teaspoon of cream
L - buttery Green veg soup with cheese
D - beef chilli (no kidney beans) and broccoli with butter.

Happy Friday everyone!

Oneborneverydecade I have switched from Clarins to Beauty Pie, which I prefer. With Beauty pie you pay a fixed amount per month (or year) I pay yearly as I preferred that. Anyway you then pay for products at cost, I really rate all their face products. This is a refer code if your interested.

share.beautypie.com/x/x0df8W
Full disclosure; You get the first month free and I get a top up

Their moisturiser is from about £7 to £14, depending on which you choose. On top of that you would pay a monthly amount of eg £10.

Anyway back to bootcamp

Another 1/4 lb off, fingers crossed that this sticks and I am past the stuck bit.

Today
B Greek yogurt
L lettuce wraps
D beef casserole flgv

Also I found a low carb bread on Ocado , it is 3.6g a slice and £1.55 a loaf , I will try it and report back

prettybird · 26/02/2021 11:21

My second pair of midnight blue velvet jeans (ordered on Wednesday) have just arrived Smile They're a lovely really dark blue which means that they'll go well with my navy satin shirt but still be ok with my black ankle boots that dh also got me for Christmas. Smile

I now need to ring up John Lewis and ask for demand a refund for the pair that I ordered last Wednesday and which have disappeared into the depths of Hermes ether Hmm

prettybird · 26/02/2021 12:05

I've got the refund sorted. Was told that I should have rung John Lewis earlier and that they'd have organised a replacement rather than me having to order again. I said that I did Confused - on Tuesday - and was told I'd have to wait until Friday and if it still hadn't arrived, to request a refund Hmm

Anyway, she was very nice today - Scottish call centre Grin

Here is a quick shot of the trousers on, with the navy satin shirt Smile. @ShagMeRiggins - note the belt Wink

Dailyhandtowelwash · 26/02/2021 12:11

You look great!

I've dropped a pound today taking me to my lowest weight so far. Not sure of my exact weight loss now as I've been up and down but around 7lbs I think.

BIWI · 26/02/2021 12:13

Looking good @prettybird!

Great progress @cheeseisthebest. If you're also taking medication that could lead to weight gain, you've done even better! (I don't know what it's for, but it might be worth talking to your GP about low carbing, just in case your dosage needs to be reduced as you lose weight)

@kilojules I'd be up for the 30 day challenge I think. . I used to a lot of that in the gym, but obviously haven't done for a while! My routine start, after a spell on the rowing machine to warm up, was a 2 minute plank. Not sure I'd be able to make that now though.

StuntNun · 26/02/2021 13:11

If anyone decides to do a 30-Day Challenge I recommend finding a good app to support it. I've been using this Plank Challenge app for a while and it's very good and completely customisable. I'm currently halfway through a 30-day plank challenge to increase my plank time from two minutes to two and a half minutes. That's only adding one second a day! The app reminds me each day if I haven't done the challenge yet and it has a timer. Also my DH swears by this Abs Workout app which is also very customisable so you can set it to your personal level of ability and focus on which areas are most important to you.

BIWI do you remember one Autumn Bootcamp a couple of years ago we had a 30-Day Challenge for the month of November where everyone set their own, non-weight loss-related challenge? Mine was to wear naice clothes every day as I had found that working from home meant I was slobbing round in old scruffy stuff all the time. Maybe we could do something like that again for March?

I fell into a mid way through BC carby ritz cracker hole, that I’ve just about pulled myself out of, as end result was just cycles of more eating and cravings

Lost half a pound tho, but suspect that’s chance and generally more exercise now the weather is better.

I’m about 1.5lbs away from being under 160lbs which is a next goal as I haven’t been there for a while, trying to KOKO

MarmaladeTeepee · 26/02/2021 13:20

Well done cheese that's fantastic.

Love those trousers prettybird pleased you got sorted.

I've just been a carby twat, one of the teachers is 30 at the weekend and had made up individual pick n mix bags for us all and I've just demolished mine instead of saving it for the DC. I know why, I'm just so annoyed that after dropping to 193.6 earlier in the week my weight has gone back up to my period weight of 195 even though I came on last week. Which puts me at the same weight as the start of bootcamp - gah! I was reading about set weight points and how your body will do anything it can to keep you at it, mine's obviously decided 195 is my set weight! I think I might step away from the scales for a bit, I'm enjoying everything else about this WOE but the scales are really demoralising me at the mo.

MrsOmelette · 26/02/2021 13:23

Happy Friday everyone. I’ve put 1lb on this week, but had a few down days where I binge ate frozen berries and alpro plain yoghurt, and pepperamis. So, back to it. I have a very important meeting coming up now in a couple of months so I’m completely focused on good food choices as need the confidence of looking my best.
Today: B - granola/soya milk, L/D egg & green pepper/shallot muffins. Lots of fluids.
I have just squeezed in to first size 14 for four years - okay I need a baggy jumper on top to hide the resultant rolls of flab that have come upwards but I’m counting it as a non-scale victory!! 😁

StuntNun · 26/02/2021 15:03

That's tough Marmalade. Get straight back on the wagon.

prettybird · 26/02/2021 15:13

I like the idea of a NSV/sartorial challenge. Smile

As an example of trying to keep "standards" up, I put lipstick on every time dh and I go out for our daily walk Grin I don't necessarily wear my signature red Dior 999 lipstick (never used to wear bright red lipstick but when I lost my big amount of weight 3 years ago, I decided to look for a "signature" lipstick and eventually settled on the 999) but I'm working through my (and my mum's) collection of old lipsticks Grin

Would need to think what new challenge to give myself for March. Hmm

StuntNun · 26/02/2021 15:20

Prettybird mine would be to wear different earrings every day. I have lots of pairs but I tend to wear the same ones over and over.

prettybird · 26/02/2021 15:21

Funnily enough Stuntnun - that was exactly the challenge I was thinking too! ShockGrin

Ninkanink · 26/02/2021 16:01

Mine is probably going to seem a little bit silly but I’m going to save £1 per day throughout March toward a big (for me) handbag purchase in a year’s time as a (very late) 45th birthday present to myself.

I fritter money away very easily and being a bit of a magpie for beautiful things there is always a list of stuff I want, so I’ve never managed to save for a big purchase - I’ve always bought first and then paid it back. But I no longer want to buy on credit so I have got to get a handle on my need for instant gratification.

£31 is just about the price of the Dior lipstick I didn’t buy this month, so if I can save that next month rather than fritter it away, I’ll have resisted twice and I’ll have the start of a fund for something I really do want.

I’ll transfer the money over daily rather than in one go, because that way it will be at the forefront of my mind for the whole month and will help me to feel like I’m taking at least one positive step daily, and I get the habit-forming benefits too (it takes 30 days/times) to lay down a new habit).

Oneborneverydecade · 26/02/2021 16:47

Apologies as I know this has been asked many times but we're thinking of ordering Indian and I am clueless. Could someone please suggest a medium spiced curry
I've attached the menu

Oneborneverydecade · 26/02/2021 16:53

@NotwatchingSpooks hello, I did do some research into Beauty Pie after seeing an ad on Insta. The MN reviews were mixed but I think the main reservation I had is that I'm just not sure of my commitment at this early stage Smile

@Ninkanink I think that's a great idea. I created a Monzo pot for saving during a £1 a day challenge I found online - it's still empty. I have definitely reined in my spontaneous spending but there's room for improvement!

BIWI · 26/02/2021 16:54

Any of the tikka/tandoor dishes unless they're in a sauce.

With a side of cauliflower bhaji, or spinach and mushroom bhaji, or sag paneer.

Good thinking Smile

I was given my Dior 999 for Christmas 19 at my suggestion to replace the one I'd been given the year before which was nearly finished (and which now in my handbag for top-ups if required). One of the reasons I'm using "other" lipsticks for my daily walks is to make sure it lasts until next Christmas Grin Currently about half way through it.

Oneborneverydecade · 26/02/2021 17:01

Thank you @BIWI Flowers

ListenLinda · 26/02/2021 17:05

Half day today from work, ate my chicken thighs and salad at my desk which was lovely :) managed to get out in the garden today! A load of washing on the line for the first time this year, cleared all the dead stuff, sorted my pots ready for planting, cleaned the bathroom. Was on a roll! Then came the dreaded call from nursery ‘DS has been coughing since his nap, can you come and get him he needs a test...’ argh! Hate testing the kids its horrible. Bought them both a mcdonalds as a treat, it smelt so good ive retreated for a bath until its time to make my pork chops friend mushrooms and green veg 😂

ListenLinda · 26/02/2021 17:06

Fried mushrooms not friend mushrooms of course

prettybird · 26/02/2021 17:09

I opened a Moneybox Roundup account just over a year ago, with roundups from my Amex, and Santander accounts plus £2/week going into it. It's currently sitting at £353 Shock My thinking is to keep it going for another year or so (until we can go to Australia whenever that might be Hmm) and then I'll have "free" additional spending money. I'm also thinking of putting in the next £50 I get from completing enough YouGov surveys (only happens about once a year, if that) as that's also "free" money. I'm about halfway there for that.
