Morning campers! And what a dreary, grey and foggy day it is here.

So we start the last fortnight of this Bootcamp today. Just two more weeks to go. Still time, therefore, to drop a few more pounds!

here's the spreadsheet once more

I hope everyone is staying well and that lockdown isn't too miserable Smile

Good luck for this week

I seem to be having self control issues and am craving sweet stuff too. I'm feeling very irritated by this.

Eating too much cheese and nuts.

I'm here for the stick!!! Gimme it hard.

Can I ask for some advice, not food or weight related? I have DP's friend's funeral on Tuesday and I have been sent out to but something to wear. I bought a black coat and trousers but I have no idea what type or colour top I should wear. I cant get a hold of my DM and have no one else I can ask 🙈

I'm standing in Next right now but everything seems glittery and sparkly for the time of year!

DP said he wants us to present our best for his friend's day so I dont want to get it wrong. I'm rubbish at shopping at the best of times.

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 06/12/2020 15:02

The things I'm not sure about is whether the top should be black or white or if a collar is important?

prettybird · 06/12/2020 15:03

Purple shirt? That's my "standard" funeral attire: black skirt and coat jacket and a smart purple shirt.

prettybird · 06/12/2020 15:04

Purple is also a funereal colour, so dh ( lapsed Catholic ) tells me Wink

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 06/12/2020 15:23

Thanks @prettybird, so not necessarily black or white, that's a huge help. Everything black appears to be skimpy and lacy and the only white blouse I found was canvas material with blue stripes. Everything else looks too glittery 😅

My Christmas revelation is that apparently I don’t really like Quality Street/Celebrations etc all that much. They have always been one of my favourite parts of Christmas and I get through an embarrassing amount of them every year. But this year I have a big pouch of Quality Street in the cupboard and I’m not tempted. However, smelling inside the bag of them is giving me major Christmas nostalgia as it reminds me of every Christmas since I was tiny. And somehow that is enough.

Now, this is the first Christmas ever that I’ve felt grateful to Cadbury for changing the recipe for their Roses chocolates and making them so utterly disgusting about 10 years ago because I did used to genuinely love them and not just in a nostalgic way. However, not even pre-bootcamp me could be tempted by one since the recipe change because they all taste of slightly rancid lard now 🤢

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 06/12/2020 17:32

I've decided to allow myself 3 days 'off' over Christmas - Christmas Day, Boxing Day and my birthday, which is between Christmas and New Year. I won't go mad but I do want to enjoy some chocolate booze.

Lyrata · 06/12/2020 17:46

I have had a bit of a successful/unsuccessful
weekend. We got the Christmas tree and went out for my sister’s birthday meal - so I have drunk a considerable amount of alcohol. However, I haven’t had carbs beyond that. So I suppose a physical failure but a bit of a psychological victory. We had a big roast dinner and I didn’t have any potatoes or the dessert - and no bread at the restaurant.

However I am expecting to have gained this week.

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer sorry I’ve only just seen this. Hope you managed to get something for underneath, the black coat and trousers are the most important. Not sure how cold it is where you are, but maybe think about a scarf, gloves and hat if you have snow. It will be a hard enough day for you without you being cold.

I did manage to find something in the end Smile I still have to try everything on, just getting the toddlers to sleep first.
I'm in Scotland, we did get snow but luckily the rain has washed it all away but it's still very cold so a scarf is a good idea, thankyou!

I'm feeling like a total burst couch, been comfort eating with DP for over a week now and probably undone all my hard work. I'm going back to low carb in a couple of days and I cant wait! It's amazing how awful and sluggish a carb heavy diet make you feel Sad

GorgeousGoldies · 06/12/2020 19:51

Hope it all goes as well as it can for you all Buffy 💐

Sometimes a brief period away from eating well can refocus the mind, and make you realise how much better you felt before. Slightly vainly, I always miss my lovely, glowy skin that I get with this WOE, and that’s what spurs me on to get back on it.

Pleaseandthankyou · 06/12/2020 20:00

I tried the shoogled sprouts . They were fantastic. Normally I roast them but this was quicker.

itsmeagainagain · 06/12/2020 21:03

@BuffyTheBuffetSlayer hope the funeral goes ok I’m sure your outfit will be fine x

1WildTeaParty · 07/12/2020 00:45

Well-done on the great progress! (Thanks for the inspiring pictures too.)

I'm not following a low-carb plan just now... due to a kitchen emergency (exploded oven - replacing cupboards - no space anywhere) and a household living on what is available (limited shopping) and does not need cooking/preparing.

I'll be back on plan as soon as possible.

Interestingly, so will the rest of my (already slim) family. They are not rejoicing in the take-aways and convenience foods; they miss all the fresh stuff and our delicious HFLC recipes.

BIWI you have changed the lives of more than you know or who know you :)

I do worry about that, @1WildTeaParty!
