Morning campers! And what a dreary, grey and foggy day it is here.

So we start the last fortnight of this Bootcamp today. Just two more weeks to go. Still time, therefore, to drop a few more pounds!

here's the spreadsheet once more

I hope everyone is staying well and that lockdown isn't too miserable Smile

Good luck for this week

I made a really nice , almost instant ( well , 10 minutes ) soup
1 leek , peeled , chopped and washed
Sweat in butter
Add half a stock cube , water and loads of sea salt and black pepper
Leave to boil for a few minutes
Use stick blender to purée
Add double cream , heat and serve ( with a bit of parsley and a swirl of cream )
Very , very nice

Pleaseandthankyou · 04/12/2020 07:08

@Doilooklikeatourist I came home late from work frozen and made almost the same soup as you. I used a leek, a punnet of mushrooms and a lamb stock cube. Same method. Really quick and lovely. I will try your version .

VeryLittleOwl · 04/12/2020 07:38

I'm having a whoosh Grin 1.8lbs gone in 2 days.

Doilooklikeatourist · 04/12/2020 07:45

@Pleaseandthankyou , I made a mushroom soup almost the same way last week , and thought leeks would work well
I think it would make a lovely sauce to go with chicken breast or salmon ( just add more cream and less water )

Sneaky Friday weigh in , and I'm down to 11.09 !
I think that's 2lb down from Monday
Very pleased 😀

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 04/12/2020 08:22

Good morning all,
I'm down a pound too, so am very pleased with that. A nsv for me is that a couple of year ago I bought a summer dress that was a little bit tight and that I had every intention of dieting into. Of course, I never did! I had a big sort out on Wednesday of all my wearable and non wearable clothes, tried on this dress and it is too big for me to wear. It's baggy on the boobs! I never ever wore it but I am so pleased. I've also go a pair of trousers that are hideously unflattering (panic purchase for a wedding a few years ago) which I will never wear but am keeping as a measuring guide. I can now do them up and could wear them if they weren't so ugly.
Have had a reasonable time with food - a bit boring because there's been a lot going on at home and I have just been eating what is quick and easy, so lots of roast chicken!
Hope everyone has a good weekend Flowers

Well done everyone on the midweek losses!

I went to the gym last night and probably did too much as I can barely walk today! I know that DOMS make me retain water so am upping the water today and won't weigh til Monday now.

itsmeagainagain · 04/12/2020 09:41

I’ve also managed to shake off my 2lbs that I had gained so feeling good!! Feeling especially good as I’m premenstrual so usually gain a few so am ahead of the game hopefully! Have a good Friday everyone 😊 I’m doing an online assessment for a job interview but had to tidy and hoover the lounge first 😂 it’s like when you clean the house before holiday anyone else do that!? Anyway it’s made me feel prepared mentally to be in a tidier environment so here goes!

20bloodypounds · 04/12/2020 09:55

@VeryLittleOwl you'll have to buy a smaller pair of shorts soon Grin

I love mushrooms but I hate mushroom soup. I think my Mum made it when I was a child and it was grey and slimy. However I do like it made with those freeze dried porcini mushrooms. It makes brown soup, rather than grey soup. Rehydrate the mushrooms, using the rehydration liquid as stock, add to fried shallots and chicken stock and blend. I often blend with lots of butter rather than cream to make it 'creamy', then just swirl cream in at the end.

NotwatchingSpooks · 04/12/2020 10:51

Great mid week losses everyone, I’m now down a pound let’s hope it sticks.

B Greek
L homemade yellow carrot & celeriac soup not the best veg choice but reliant on veg box until tomorrow
D Steak, with roasted green beans and homemade coleslaw

Hopeislost · 04/12/2020 11:22

Thank you @prettybird - they fit! A little bit of overhang, but nothing that a few more weeks of Bootcamp can't sort 🥰

prettybird · 04/12/2020 13:05

Brilliant hopeislost - there's practically no overhang so I'm sure you'll be happily wearing them in public very soon Smile

Solongsugar · 04/12/2020 15:06

Hi all, could an expert cast eye over this and give feedback please? I really fancy a woosh and feel I've gone too long without one.How does this sound for today?
No breakfast as i.fasting
Lunch- tuna mayo, spinach , boiled egg
Dinner, double cream and raspberries
3itres water

StuntNun · 04/12/2020 15:30

Solong what did you have for dinner? Not just cream and raspberries, I hope.

Hopeislost · 04/12/2020 17:11

Solongsugar I'm no expert but I imagine the feedback will be along the lines of:

  • eat lots more veg
  • eat more food (aka a proper dinner with some veg)
  • 3 litres may not be enough
BurningGubbins · 04/12/2020 17:58

#bootcampbingo

Solongsugar · 04/12/2020 18:32

I did today @StuntNun. Once in a while I just don't want a dinner, I'd have whatever I fancy. I eat plentiful salad every day. And now I'm feeling a bit foolish 🙈

StuntNun · 05/12/2020 07:07

It's difficult to tell from just one day's food SoLong can you post a few more? From your previous posting looks like you're undereating significantly. I do 16:8 as well and I eat a big lunch and dinner to get enough calories and nutrients into two meals instead of three.

Mimosa1 · 05/12/2020 09:33

Well done on the woosh @VeryLittleOwl ! The scales are still going the wrong way for me, but I've found @BIWI 's post v helpful so I'm confident it will come off.

Have a good weekend, all!

prettybird · 05/12/2020 09:47

I've had a whoosh (after a 29 hour fast up to last night) and am now below my "immediate" target which was to get to where I'd got to last Christmas. I got to 11st 6.75lb last Christmas and I'm now 11st 5lb Xmas Smile That's a whoosh of 3lb Shock

It might not all stick until Monday - but if I can continue the downwards progress, I might get close to where I'd got to Christmas 2018: 11st 1.75lb iirc. Might not quite get there but I might get close Xmas Grin

Steak, fried shallots and shoogled sprouts tonight. Smile

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 05/12/2020 10:13

Well a HUGE scales victory for me this morning. At 55, I’m now lighter, fitter and less fat than I can ever remember being in my adult life, 108ish kilos down to 86.5 at the moment. I’ve never been under 87, even when I was gymming 5 times a week, which I’m certainly not now.
I also feel it’s totally manageable, I don’t ever get hungry, and my alcohol consumption has gone from at least 50 units a week Blush to zero at the moment, although I’ll probably have a few drinks around Christmas.

Im interested to see how low I can go. I’m 5’9”, so quite tall, and I’d always assumed that it was just something wrong with my metabolism when I would eat the recommended low fat pasta with tomato Hmm and not really lose anything.

So again, thank you Biwi Athelstane Stuntnun and all the others who contribute to this great thread. It really is live changing.

StuntNun · 05/12/2020 11:40

Well done Ifeelmuchlessfat onwards and downwards!

Takingontheundead · 05/12/2020 13:23

I've got a savoy cabbage. What do i do with it?

Bookaholic73 · 05/12/2020 13:45

Afternoon everyone. I’m starting LC after Xmas, so just popping my head around the door to say Hi and have a read of all your successful losses!

Hopeislost · 05/12/2020 13:46

Taking my favourite thing to do with a cabbage is to roast it. Cut into wedges (4-8 depending on cabbage size) and cut out the core. In a bowl mix 2 tbsp oil with 2 tsp Dijon mustard. Place cabbage wedges on a baking tray and brush with the mustard/oil mixture. Roast @ gas mark 7 for 25-30 minutes.

prettybird · 05/12/2020 13:58

I microwave my Savoy cabbage (cut into strips) with butter à la my shoogled sprouts and then season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and stir though, if I have some, some crispy lardons/chopped up pieces of streaky bacon.
