Morning campers! And what a dreary, grey and foggy day it is here.

So we start the last fortnight of this Bootcamp today. Just two more weeks to go. Still time, therefore, to drop a few more pounds!

here's the spreadsheet once more

I hope everyone is staying well and that lockdown isn't too miserable Smile

Good luck for this week

Down 3/4lb to 11st 8.25lb. Only 1.5lb to go to get under 11 and a half stone Smile - which is also where I got to on Christmas Eve last year. Xmas Grin

prettybird · 30/11/2020 12:22

....that's nearly 1 stone and 3lb this Boot Camp! ShockSmile

Mimosa1 · 30/11/2020 13:23

@VeryLittleOwl that's actually really good. My fallings-off-the-wagon have usually entailed months before I get back on.

BIWI · 30/11/2020 14:30

Wow! Some great losses here this week Smile

I'm in awe of some of these losses - well done.
I'm managing to stay steady in the face of temptation - so far avoiding all mince pies.

WitchWand · 30/11/2020 16:49

poorbuthappy Never thought about "chopping my arm off" ! That would definitely sort two problems out for me. At the same time, Weight loss and Not Gin at the weekend ! Grin

WitchWand · 30/11/2020 17:00

@BurningGubbins

1.2lbs down for me this week, which is mildly annoying as I was 2lb down midweek. Oh well. Not sure I’ll make it into the 10s before Christmas now.

NSV - my glasses keep falling off when I am yoga-ing. I guess I have lost weight from my face!

Have a good/better week all.

BurningGubbins laughing at your glasses falling off during yoga. Thanks a lot for that. I needed it. Grin

This morning, I realised that I've lost weight on my face too because I could see some unflattering wrinkly skin under my chin. I wasn't too happy about it. I'm not going to go backwards though to put all the "natural fat filler " back. Not sure what to do about it though.Blush

Any suggestions would be most welcome ... Wink

sheepysheep · 30/11/2020 17:20

FFS 3lb up. No major derails... just excessive nuts and dark chocolate and not enough sleep. Can’t even blame water retention as I am in the middle of my cycle. Did a long cycle ride on the turbo trainer earlier - hopefully it’s burnt some calories but at the very least it’s stopped me from snacking!! Mistimed it a bit though - not enough time to change and I had to rush off to pick youngest child from school .... wellies, face mask and cycling shorts is a strong look 😂

Well done everyone on the the losses, NSV and for hanging on in there even when the scales is vexing!!

prettybird · 30/11/2020 17:26

@Hopeislost - I've posted you the jeans and PMed you my Paypal email to cover the postage. That's me well and truly "outed" with youGrin

20bloodypounds · 30/11/2020 17:39

My best friend and I have had a long time advent calendar thing going on (even before it was a thing). This year - because she knows I won't eat chocolate - she bought me a pukka tea bag calendar. I am excited for tomorrow...

Had a great walk with a pal today. Miraculously, we dodged the showers, enjoyed the rainbows, and even petted some alpacas..

B - boiled egg
L - (picnic lunch) creamy chicken soup, salad with smoked salmon and gherkins
D - chile con carne with broccoli and spinach

20bloodypounds · 30/11/2020 17:42

Lovely alpacas...

WitchWand it takes longer for skin to shrink back into place so you might not need to do anything but wait. If it's really bothering you then extended fasting is supposed to be excellent for tightening up loose skin, among other health benefits.

Summery1 · 30/11/2020 18:42

I'm going to jump back in for the last few weeks - I had fallen off the wagon a bit.
I couldn't weigh this morning as DH had borrowed my scales, so I'll add that in later on in the week.
B: Creamy coffee
L: Omlette with mushrooms and cheese salad
D: Chicken, courgette, brussells sprouts. Yogurt with a spoon of peanut butter.

I'll try to stay motivated!! so I'll be following everybody's journey

prettybird · 30/11/2020 18:47

Re "stretch(ed)" skin: I take the view that it needs extra moisturising both from within (water, fat) and without - TLC from moisturiser. I take extra care with body lotion on my stomach, boobs and bum Blush - and plenty of good moisturiser on my face and neck.

BurningGubbins · 30/11/2020 19:16

Yes, I’ve been going big on the full body moisturising, and using a body brush, in the hope that I won’t have any loose skin. So far so good.

ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh · 30/11/2020 19:26

Good evening!

L: Today was leftover beef curry with cauliflower rice

D: Was cheese and bean sprout omelette with celery and natural yoghurt with desiccated coconut and a few blueberries

Just finishing off with a lemon and mint green tea and an early night!

PS Tried Teapig Gluhwein, didn't like it Envy

Jdhshekr · 30/11/2020 20:48

I think I’m down at least 1lb this week, potentially a bit more. However I suspect that my scales may be lying to me. I discovered this morning that depending on what part of them I stand on and where they are on the floor they can go up by 4lbs. So I feel like I’ve been doing well but I could weigh in at the gym when they re-open later in the week and discover that I’ve only lost 2lbs since they closed rather than the 6lbs I thought it was. Hmmmmmm.

ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh · 30/11/2020 20:53

Just done a before my holiday in August and now photos, it's amazing to see the difference Grin I'm so proud of myself and so happy I found bootcamp! Thanks biwi!

Amazing difference! Well done.
BasicMadeira · 30/11/2020 21:10

Well done @ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh and everyone else who has lost or sts. I had a small loss but suspect the salted peanuts I am having a Sunday eve "treat" results in water being held also not great at the water over the weekend.
Trying fasting this week so not eating after six pm until 11 ish. Coffee black is okay and water too. I am doing a course for 3 hours everyday so I am drinking 2l during that and then that leaves only 1l for the rest of the day which is easy.

ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh Great photos! Well done on your success !

WitchWand · 30/11/2020 21:31

Thanks for the moisturising suggestions for excess skin BurningGubbins and prettybird.
I'm taking that you're meaning any type of moisturiser rather than anything specific.

And StuntNun , I appreciate you telling me about fasting for helping with this too. I'm not sure what 'extended fasting' looks like though. Are you meaning fasting over a number of days ? over a number of hours ? Or something else ?

prettybird · 30/11/2020 22:53

Any moisturiser would do - but I'm partial to Boots No.7 for my face and Clarins Extra Rich Body Balm, which I think is magical and gives your skin a beautiful sheen. I buy it either at Christmas as part of gift sets or whenever Clarins (and Boots Advantage Card) has an offer on.

itsmeagainagain · 30/11/2020 23:49

Some great losses y’all. Well done @ZiggaZiggArrgggghhh great progress!

StuntNun · 01/12/2020 07:05

WitchWand extended fasting is anything over 24 hours. It's actually not that hard to do but it's best to work up to it gradually since fasting gets easier with every fast. I started out doing 16:8 then when I was used to that tried a 24-hour fast from dinner one day to the next, i.e. skipping breakfast and lunch instead of just breakfast. For loose skin a 36-hour or more fast would be more effective which would mean eating up to dinner one day, nothing at all the next day, then starting eating again with breakfast on the third day. It's not something we really do on Bootcamp because the ethos is here is about eating real, unprocessed, nourishing, low carb food. I only introduced fasting after I had reached my goal weight and it was for healing purposes rather than weight loss. I have issues with chronic inflammation in my jaw and I was hoping fasting would help that, especially after a surgery in the summer. Other benefits I've noticed are improved appearance of scars, shrinking of varicose veins, reduction of cellulite, improved insulin sensitivity leading to less hunger. I'm very careful to balance famine with feast so I make sure to eat heartily before and after a fast to make sure my nutrition isn't affected. One weird downside is one of my ear piercings tries to close up so I have to remember to leave sleeper earrings in when I fast and for a couple of days afterwards. I asked about it on a fasting group and it happens to quite a lot of people. Given that I had my ears pierced over 30 years ago I think that really shows just how powerful fasting can be for your health. I don't fast often, apart from my daily 16:8, I do an extended fast every month or two. Obviously extended fasting might not be a good idea for people with a history of eating disorders. I don't set a firm time goal for fasting because I think it's more important to be responsive to your body's hunger signals. My first 24-hour fast I only made it to 23 hours and I felt hungry so I broke my fast early. Equally on my first attempt at a 36-hour fast I felt great at the 36 hour mark so I went for another couple of hours before eating.
