The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Morning all. Sorry for the late start - had a bit of a bad night so slept longer than usual.

I hope that the scales were kind to you this morning, but please remember week 4 is notorious (along with week 3) in that you are very likely to have seen no loss, or even a small gain

If this has happened to you, DON'T PANIC!

This is your body adjusting to a new WOE, and from now on you should be burning fat. So don't change what you've been doing and things will get moving again; you should expect to see 1-3lbs losses each week (depending on how much you have to lose)

However, it's also important to be scrupulously honest with yourself. If you have had no loss, or seen a gain, go back over what you have been eating and drinking. Have you been following the rules? Have you been keeping your fat levels high? Have you been drinking all the water?

Good luck to us all for the following week as we go into lockdown once again. I know it's not going to be easy, and the lure of carbs (and all the alcohol) will be even more ever-present. Post here if you're needing support to stay away from them and together we can help each other. Remember, you're not alone!

ShagMe’s Shop Your Wardrobe Zoom

As approximately 30 have expressed an interest I’ve realised it would be somewhat labour-intensive to DM each and every one of you.

Please, if you have signed up—and even if you haven’t— DM me and provide an email address. I’ll take it from there.

Also, you can create a new, cryptic email address if you don’t want any identifying names and when it’s time for the Zoom you can just put your MN name as well. It’s important to me to protect everyone’s privacy. I will BCC all emails, for example.

@AthelstaneTheUnready / @AthelstaneTheUndeady, didn’t you want in on this last time and couldn’t make it?

All welcome.

A bit dense but very tasty.

I'll have another go (think I'll increase the eggs and give it longer in the bulk fermentation - and possibly some almond flour) and then I'll post the recipe. Think I can increase the seed content too.

Can get 14 slices from it - plus it would make awesome toast.

NigellaAwesome · 07/11/2020 21:00

I'm feeling squiffy. First drink of boot camp and am toasting Biden. 🍾

20bloodypumpkins · 07/11/2020 22:43

Biden is not perfect - but thank goodness!!!

BIWI · 07/11/2020 22:46

Compared to Trump he's a god!

BIWI you're scaring me!

B: Protein Ball (On cycle break - 8g carb), Creamy coffee

I went for a 50K cycle before breakfast. We have a break at about 30K (after about 75 mins) and I've been knocked out with 'Bong' kind of thing if I stay very low carb. I cycled 20K immediately after that.

L: Chaffel (3 egg, cheese, chives, almond flour), leaves, greek yogurt and olive oil.

Note chives and leaves - a full supermarket salad bag plus the greens of 2 spring onions

D: Chicken & Mushroom thingy, on leaves with broccoli.

I fried a half carton of mushrooms, threw in a little cream and heated through some cooked chicken. Same amount of leaves & Broccoli.

Yogurt with rasberries

So I reckon I had, 2 bags of leaves (I didn't finish all of the second), broccoli, rasberries, scallion and mushroom.

Am I on the wrong track? I use about a dessert spoon of almond flour but I'll look at this again.

EarlGreyHot · 07/11/2020 23:44

I did all my toasting last night at a socially distanced 50th birthday drinks! Definitely overdid it on the bubbly... that was NOT moderation Hmm Food choices were easy as I had brought charcuterie, olives, cheese and crudités. I have been craving sugar all day today so it's definitely had an impact.

B - stir-fry pork mince, shallots, peppers, mangetout with soy sauce, splash of oyster sauce and hot sauce
L - a couple of sausages
D - burrito bowl (aka lettuce, roasted veg, pulled pork, pico de gallo, jalapeños, cheese and sour cream
Lots of water

On the low side for veg but to be honest I'm pleased to have stayed low carb at all!

Summery1 · 07/11/2020 23:47

Food today:
B: Mushrooms, Scrambled eggs with feta and scallion, creamy coffee.
L: Yogurt with almond butter
D: Chicken, coleslaw, broccoli
Mint tea and 1 square of chocolate (weighed just now - 11g,

I've been so ill the last few days and have hardly eaten! Stomach cramps, nausea, headaches Sad

I've only had 2 boiled eggs on low carb toast with a salad and loads of butter. Have managed to drink 4l of water though and have salmon and scrambled egg and spinach for lunch tomorrow. Chicken kebab with salad and mayo for tea.

DH keeps offering Indians and cakes, I'm a bit fuming with him as he knows how important this is to me and just keeps saying one slice of cake won't hurt AngryAngry

ShagMeRiggins · 08/11/2020 05:11

I’m reading the K as ‘thousand,’ Summery, and it’s blowing my mind.

Rayna37 · 08/11/2020 08:45

Checking in after a feast day for DH's 50th. Lots of fun stuff on the thread!

Started the day with a walk/run in the forest then avocado and cheese omelettes with some steamy bacon.

I did have a big slice of my homemade chocolate Guinness cake mid afternoon.

Tasting menu went really well and was fun to do. I settled on:
Smoked salmon with horseradish cream
Wild mushrooms with garlic and sherry
Scallop gratin (this was bought on a whim and actually a let down on both taste and carbs! Everything else home made).
Aubergine parmigiana
Harissa Pork belly on butternut squash
Lamb steaks in blackberry sauce, kale, celeriac purée
Chocolate mousse

No room for the figs with prosciutto and goats cheese or the cheese board. I had a couple of glasses of nice red.

The lamb was a triumph, the dish would work well with venison so will definitely scale up and repeat. The mousse was from the IPD cookbook and was denser than expected; I will experiment with recipes. I usually make chocolate pots but would like a mousse for a change.

It was really nice to get dressed up too. I had a good laugh at Shag heading off for her flu jab like a boss. I remember early in the first lockdown putting as much effort in for a trip to the supermarket as for a teenage disco, and my Mum made her reserved male neighbour LOL about putting on lipstick for the highlight that was a trip to the farm shop.

I can live with a stall or small gain this week, I'm only about 4-5lbs from goal; plenty of time to get strict again.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 08/11/2020 09:41

@ShagMeRiggins thanks for the prompt! Grin

I've looked at nothing but election tickers for the last few days...

I would love to join (work permitting). I have a blind spot when it comes to colours/clothes. Like an atheist in church, "We See the Light Blue! Praise the Light Blue!". Er, what? where? Which direction are you all looking in!!?

Not just a bag lady, but a bag lady in the wrong colours...

AthelstaneTheUnready · 08/11/2020 09:43

(I remember turning up for coffee with an extremely well turned out prettybird, and knowing enough to apologise for my clothing, but not enough to fix it! I blamed moving house, but really, it's just incompetence)

MsAwesomeDragon · 08/11/2020 09:54

You sound a lot like me athelstane. I have no idea what I should be wearing so I just wear what's comfortable. I live in jeans and hoodies at weekends, and for work I have black trousers and a coloured/patterned top, with a black cardigan over the top.

When people invite me out I panic because I literally don't own any clothes suitable for going out for dinner.

poorbuthappy · 08/11/2020 10:03

Morning all.
Just had yoghurt with marmite peanut butter. Total game changer.
DH almost 🤮🤮

prettybird · 08/11/2020 10:06

Aww Athelstane Blush

But I thought you looked lovely too - you do yourself a disservice Smile

We should have coffee again if you ever come up to Glasgow (I presume you're WFH at the moment) as that is one of the things we are still allowed to do Wink

NotwatchingSpooks · 08/11/2020 10:12

Morning
I’ve also been glued to the US election , I had a sneaky half hour nap (first in ages) and missed the big moment. DH who has not been frantically following, was sat next to me on the sofa, watched it and did not wake me !!!! As I stirred he said something along the lines of it was only 5/10 mins ago !!!

I am about a quarter of a pound down from last week(when I put on a week 3 pound), I am really hoping that week 5 sees some downward scales movement. I’m just going to koko and drink the water 💦

Today
B Greek yogurt, Tsp double cream, Tsp linwoods flax mix, 2 crumbled frozen raspberries
L celeriac & broccoli soup with 3 rollitos
D roast beef, roasted green beans, FLGV

Water, water, water

BIWI · 08/11/2020 11:06

@lurknolinger

No probs, BIWI I didn't take it that way, I just prefer not to mislead people on things. It's difficult enough to get facts right about food there's so many different sources of info and differing ways of calculating things that it can be a bit of a mine field, so didn't want to add to it!
Quite coincidentally, DS1 and I are going to do some Chinese cooking next week, and the issue of dark vs light soy sauce came up - and despite the sodium counts on Sainsbury's website, this article confirms what you said namely that dark is less salty.

So you were right! (And I was wrong Grin)
