The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Morning all. Sorry for the late start - had a bit of a bad night so slept longer than usual.

I hope that the scales were kind to you this morning, but please remember week 4 is notorious (along with week 3) in that you are very likely to have seen no loss, or even a small gain

If this has happened to you, DON'T PANIC!

This is your body adjusting to a new WOE, and from now on you should be burning fat. So don't change what you've been doing and things will get moving again; you should expect to see 1-3lbs losses each week (depending on how much you have to lose)

However, it's also important to be scrupulously honest with yourself. If you have had no loss, or seen a gain, go back over what you have been eating and drinking. Have you been following the rules? Have you been keeping your fat levels high? Have you been drinking all the water?

Good luck to us all for the following week as we go into lockdown once again. I know it's not going to be easy, and the lure of carbs (and all the alcohol) will be even more ever-present. Post here if you're needing support to stay away from them and together we can help each other. Remember, you're not alone!

@SuperbGorgonzola

Yes, I fear I'm going to have to get back to running now the gyms are closed. I completed the C25K during the last lockdown, but then promptly stopped running when we had that really hot spell, and never got back into it - mostly because I don't enjoy it!

But I can't afford to do nothing, as otherwise I'll just take root on the sofa again Grin

Dreading outdoor running. I find it really hard since I had Covid but manage on a treadmill a lot better. I think my workouts are going to take a bit of a hit with the gyms closing as it will take me ages to manage to run decently outside. But I will still do it because exercise makes me feel better mentally and I think it’s really helped my weightloss along.

SuperbGorgonzola · 02/11/2020 11:01

I do like being outdoors, and since our dog died, I don't spend as much time just getting fresh air I used to. The running is a reason to get out and I do feel good for it. But yes, I hate every step Grin

VeryLittleOwl · 02/11/2020 11:09

Congratulations, ThinkAboutItTomorrow!

I am firmly on a plateau with a tiny 0.2lbs lost, but that does round me up to 5% of starting weight lost on the spreadsheet. A combination of week 3/4 stalling and PMT, I think, because I've not eaten any differently to the first two weeks when I lost 8lbs.

Leftover cauliflower cheese for lunch and then chilli with FLGV for supper. DH has got into the habit of making me a bed of buttery mashed sprouts to have my chilli on, it's very, very nice.

NorthOfAmazing · 02/11/2020 11:14

Hey everyone , I’ve been catching up with the threads over lunch break this morning , sorry it’s moving too fast for me to be any good at remembering names but well done to everyone who lost and KOKO to everyone hit by the week 3 stall.

I’ve lost a pound this week but it’s a shallow victory as I’ve been gaining and losing this pound for a couple of weeks now. Hard to stay motivated , this is the longest I’ve ever been “dieting” although I’ve lost a stone-ish since July , the plateau is disheartening. The article you posted was very good at explaining that BIWI , it’s reassuring to know it’s just normal to get to this stage.

Anyway, there’s bigger fish to fry with a busy restaurant to close down over the next two days and trying to get everything sorted at home in a mad dash when I don’t finish work until after everything closes. Car just failed it’s MOT so am on foot and feeling the exercise ! Could well account for the pound loss Grin I’ll definitely feel less stressed in a couple of days once everything settles down and we start to adjust to a different normal.

Sorry to hear your relative is unwell fizz it’s a difficult time isn’t it. I hope they pull through ok Flowers

Flowers for everyone else who might be feeling down

fizzfridays · 02/11/2020 11:27

Hi everyone, thank you for the kind words. I'm feeling more accepting of the situation this morning and determined to press on with work and life as normal.

@sheepysheep sorry to hear about the flooding, sounds very stressful. Fingers crossed the van can get to you.

@ThinkAboutItTomorrow congratulations on reaching your goal weight! I'm interested to see how you get on with maintenance so please keep us updated.

Well done to everyone with their losses, I forgot this morning so will weigh in tomorrow instead but I'm not expecting anything due to being a greedy pig over the last 4 days or so!

Planned food today:
L: chaffles with avocado, spinach, chicken
D: I'm going to try to make a low carb lasagne with hm bolognese using thin roast chicken deli slices as pasta sheets per a recipe I saw - will report back!

Rshard · 02/11/2020 11:29

Well done for all the losses and NSV’s

Another one who had a tricky week, the impending lockdown seems to be really getting to me and I ended up diving into carbs on Saturday. Flowers for everyone else who is having a tough time.

A new week, so I’ve had a stern word with myself and put my big girl knickers on.

AWryGiraffe · 02/11/2020 11:56

Can anyone recommend a good method of doing roasted green beans from frozen? Worried they may end up soggy!

Hope everyone is holding up with the lockdown news.

BasicMadeira · 02/11/2020 12:15

Thanks for keeping this going and well done on the losses everyone. I had a bad week at the end. Mid term break and DH on AL resulted in a lot of lounging on the sofa and nibbling at dairy and nuts. Dangerously moreish. Back on the wagon!

20bloodypumpkins · 02/11/2020 12:24

0.4 pounds up. But I know that red wine mid-week and yesterday evening would have had an impact. So it's onwards and hopefully downwards this week. And no wine.

B - avocado, coffee with cream
L - pumpkin and turnip soup
D - left-over cheeseburger pie with salad

Covid rules in Scotland are different. I find it really hard not being able to meet up with family or friends (I live in a different county from most of my friends and it would require some slight interpretation of the rules about traveling for exercise, to be able to go for a walk with any of them, and it doesn't feel right to do that). And I so, so miss being able to hug my grandchildren and listen to all their chatter - although because they are at primary school, I do recognise that hugging them is the riskiest thing I do... But on a much brighter note I am eating out twice this week - once tomorrow for a work meeting, and then at the end of the week in my favourite restaurant. Work colleague is also lchf so we've chosen a french restaurant which has lots of good options, and the lunch on Friday will be lots of veg, loads of cream and butter, some little bits of protein the odd scallop or two and I'll turn down the bread and the two puddings. And in temperance Scotland no alcohol can be served anyway, so that removes one temptation.

Rayna37 · 02/11/2020 12:30

AWryGiraffe I just spread them on a tray, drizzle of olive oil, grind of salt and maybe 25 mins? Always good, and I'm very wary of frozen veg thanks Mum and your terrible veg cooking

IncurablyCurious · 02/11/2020 12:36

Hello hello. Well done everyone in the losses group! And in the KOKO group, I expect I'll be joining you, I feel like I've also hit the "it's a marathon, not a sprint" stage. Usually impossible for me to weigh on a Monday, so I'll do that tomorrow.

I got an email from BBC Good Food this morning, highlighting their low carb recipes. Not too sure about all of them (they lie, puff pastry is SO not low carb?!), but thought I'd post the links for some recipe inspiration!

Breakfast: www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/low-carb-breakfast-recipes

Dinners: www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/low-carbohydrate-recipes

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/low-carb-dinner-recipes/2

Each recipe has a nutrition breakdown at the top, and I'm def going to be trying the baked green egg breakfast and slow cooker beef stew (minus the cornflour).

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 02/11/2020 12:37

Just nipping on to add my weight. 14st 2 🙊 That's an 8lb loss since Monday last week!

So happy my late dinner didnt affect things too much, reason I waited until now to weigh.

NigellaAwesome · 02/11/2020 12:39

Morning all,

6 lbs off this week which I am thrilled about, even though I had a little, ahem, 'help' on the digestive front. That's just over 11 lbs in total.

So, my little goals are:

Highest (June 2019) 226 pounds
Start of bootcamp Oct 2020: 203 pounds
Current: 191.8 pounds - almost 35 pounds lost since highest weight

Mini-goals:
190 = nice round number
189 = just under 190 pounds and 86kg - the lowest I got to in Summer 2020 bootcamp
187 = under 85kg, and what I weighed in June 2010
186 = 40 pounds lost since highest weight (84 kg)
184 = 3 stone lost since highest weight
183 = 10% off this bootcamp
182 = 13 stone
181 = under 13 stone
180 = GOAL WEIGHT!! (81.6kg). This will give me a BMI of 29.9 (just into overweight as opposed to obese, but I am happy with how I am at that weight, and it is realistic).
179 = just under goal, and into the 170s

To achieve this I need to stick to bootcamp, and not venture into bootcamp lite, as I just can't cope with it.

I hope everyone is having a good Monday, even with impending lockdown.

@CowGurl - we are weight twins!

@ThinkAboutItTomorrow - Star well done!

Superspecs · 02/11/2020 12:51

@thinkaboutittomorrow that's brilliant! Well done you!

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 02/11/2020 12:55

It isn't 8lb loss, it's just under 7lb!! Counting isn't my best area 🤦‍♀️😂

AWryGiraffe · 02/11/2020 13:03

Thanks Rayna! Will give them a go

Oneborneverydecade · 02/11/2020 13:07

@thinkaboutittomorrow well done!

I didn't enjoy the radishes either fwiw

I've stayed the same but I know it's because I've become a bit complacent

Well done everyone

prettyscarybird · 02/11/2020 13:18

11st 13lb for me - down half a pound Smilebut because the bathroom floor tiles had to be taken up to put in the new central heating so it's now uneven floorboards so I've had to find a new weighing point. I've chosen a specific place in the kitchen (lining up with the island unit) so at least I have a new consistent point going forward.

BUT I have a lovely warm house so I don't mind Grin

My belt is also slightly more comfortable - to the extent that I could wear it last night (deliberately wore a shirt rather than my layers of cashmere now that we have a nice warm house to show off when my dad arrived for supper) - but I'm not yet able to get up the next notch. And I'm wearing it now - with just a T-shirt Smile

Have I mentioned we have a lovely warm house now? Wink

NigellaAwesome - So we are! Or were until your amazing weightloss this week - well done!! I am stalling due inhaling birthday cake and impending period so hopefully will have lost a few more pounds by next Monday.

I'm also aiming for BMI of 29.9 this bootcamp, for me it's 85kg. It will be amazing to be out of the obese catagory! I also feel pretty comfortable at that weight, though I think I might try for a BMI of 27 after Christmas which is about 12 ish stone. I think I have once been 11.5 stone in my adult life and I really struggled to get there - I was a lot younger and diet involved lots of dancing, vodka and diet coke, cigarettes and not much else! I just don't think a BMI of 25 is possible for me, must have seriously heavy bones. Happy to proven wrong though! Grin

SomethingInTheWaySheCooks · 02/11/2020 14:48

Well done everyone! I have pretty much stayed the same this week, but that’s fine as I did have birthday sushi and Vietnamese takeout at the weekend and a glass of wine and matcha cake! I also added a little fruit one day and nuts to my Greek yoghurt (these could easily be my downfall; I love nuts!)

plumstone · 02/11/2020 14:52

short break at work - and i think i'm going onto two meals a day 7am and 7pm - due to Covid, no one is allowed to bring consumables on site - everyone can sign for a pasta heavy meal - all properly prepared either Spag bol, or pasta salad - its a fabulous portion and free to all employees - just not for me at the moment!!

B - lots of smoked salmon, lots of cream cheese, and stilton - a lot of that too, bit of rush this morning, but will ensure that I eat eggs, and mushrooms along with grilled vegetables going forward.

D - hotel is pretty good - last night it was salmon and spinach and tonight will be steak and broccoli - so provided I don't get sick of those we should be good - the minibar doesn't have gin or tonic - so big plus there!!!

5 degrees here - so I am expecting my metabolism to speed up in order to keep me warm.

KOKO everyone!

MrsKoala · 02/11/2020 15:39

Hi All. Hope evergone is well. Can I join you? I know I’m late to the party but had a stressful few weeks. Hurt my neck and shoulder 3 weeks ago and couldn’t move my head for 5 day - so so painful (and I’m not usually a wimp). Then I got an evil cold which has lingered for nearly 2 weeks now (not Covid just really tired and snotty). My business has also been crazy busy with lots of admin and tedious forms.

All of this has meant eating carby crap and I’ve put on 5lb. I’m 11st 11lb and I really don’t want to get back into the 12s as it’s so bloody hard to get out of them again, so I want to get down to at least 11st 7lb.

Anyway, In other news, who wants to see my new boobs?! Grin

itsmeagainagain · 02/11/2020 15:42

Well done everyone there are some great losses on there! I’m up a pound this week which along with staying the same last week was a little disappointing however it’s TOTM and so I’m not going to let it derail me. Thanks @BIWI for the positive post about homeostasis 👍 I’m going to smash it this week 💪

MsAwesomeDragon · 02/11/2020 17:53

I'm checking in. I stayed the same this week, which is fine, I was expecting it really. It was half term last week so I want at work and that lack of routine really threw me. I wasn't drinking all the water I should have been drinking, and I had rather more snacks than I needed. And the thread fell off my tio, so I stopped reading it.

Back to school today, so back to routine. I've drunk 3l of water already (including 2 electrolyte drinks).
Breakfast: cheese and cucumber at break time
Lunch: chicken and vegetable soup
Snack: 3 slices corned beef
Dinner: something with mince cooked by dh (I think it's Bolognese, served with veg rather than pasta, but I'm not venturing into the kitchen while he's cooking).
