Morning all

So here we are in the new, unexpected second half of Bootcamp!

Spreadsheet is here

Hopefully everyone should be in the swing of things now, and also hopefully we've left the doldrums of weeks 3 & 4 behind us, so should be seeing steady losses.

If things aren't going the right way for you, have a good, hard look at what you've been eating and drinking. Make sure you haven't allowed carb creep - and also that you're following the rules!

If you've moved on to Bootcamp Light, make sure that you're keeping an eye on the amount of fruit or nuts/seeds and alcohol that you're allowing. Remember - always in moderation!

Here's to a good week for us all Flowers

I doubt you're rubbish at running now if you were running before!

You say you've been following Bootcamp for 6 weeks - but are you sure you've been following the rules? How much fat are you eating?

Write out for me what your meals have been over the last 3-4 days and let's see if there's anything we can help you with.

I think re food and veganism etc is that local, organic, free range is best. So as Northern Europeans our diet is “naturally” to consume meat and not much else through the winter and more veg in the summer. I do believe that humans are omnivores and do well on meat and veg. When I was a single mum I had no money and would spend what I had on local veg and meat. We had less but it added up to more. I have no problem with peeps wanting meat n dairy free days and going for veggie options - but I do think that both cheap meat and cheap soy are massive environmental problems.

I'm impressed BrassicaBabe-organic farmers are heros! I love the food and seeing the happy insect-life /birds around the farms.

Watch your cows carefully- it turns out that they are enterprising creatures with business-sense. Beware of possible secret vending-machine construction. You might find them selling off your broccoli from the hedge-rows.

I wonder if any of them have considered selling their methane?

[quote BrassicaBabe]@nowlook I can't copy the text for reason. So here are some screen shots (buy egg rings from amazon for the full "round egg" experience Grin)

Going back to the McMuffin hack, Tesco sell these sausage patties in the freezer section which are really low carb and grill from frozen in 8 mins and make it so much quicker to make a fake MacD breakfast in a hurry. They taste just like the real thing too.
Hope the link works.

BrassicaBabe · 03/07/2020 07:05

Wow lurk that would have saved my much messing around trying to roll out sausage meat HmmGrin Just added that to my shopping basket! Ta

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I’m wearing some trousers that I bought about two years ago and never really fit me properly, we’ll now they do! Makes a change from the jeans/leggings I’ve been wearing for the past 14(?) weeks whilst wfh.

BrassicaBabe · 03/07/2020 08:27

I've got this re electrolytes to go with BIWIs article. Have to confess I am very bad at remembering

Is it possibly my fancy new scales are broken? I weighed this morning- I'm weighing every other day to compensate for giving up my MFP addiction 😳 but had totally forgotten I'd weighed yesterday morning... and its showing another lb down?

The weight seems to be falling off right now, since being consistent with 16:8 but that's 8lbs in 2 weeks (friday to Friday) i keep expecting the scales to fluctuate up again a bit but nothing yet? 🤷‍♀️ I'm a bit scared theyre wrong/its all gonna go tits up... ?!

I'm due to be filmed for work in a couple weeks and im starting to get anxious. I'm gonna look huge!

Brilliant Rshard Thanks

BrassicaBabe · 03/07/2020 08:33

Whoop RShard. Nice one!

I may have lost nearly 2lb this week. Unheard of! And that may put me less than 2lbs until goal weight!! Only seen it today on the scales. So taking it cautiously. We all know what a bastard the scales can be!

BrassicaBabe · 03/07/2020 08:37

@BigJonn are you out there? Doing ok? Just checking in as you popped into my mind Smile

ElizabethHoneysuckle · 03/07/2020 08:56

Am on day 3 now, feeling really tired. When do people generally adjust to this new way of eating and feel a bit better?

Also, I think my big weakness might be cutting out artificial sweeteners. I caved last night and bought a 2 litre bottle of Diet Coke 😬 I missed it more than all the carbs put together! A terrible addiction/affliction! Has anyone else had similar? Will it undo ALL my work or it is minor breach?

Takingontheworld · 03/07/2020 09:01

Hi Elizabeth.

I love dietpepsi but had to quit as the caffeine sets my post baby bladder off. I know its not allowed but i have Sprite zero at home for my sweet hit. I buy a big bottle to avoid cans as i only do like a half cup so as not to drink too much. I'm now 6 weeksish in and not craving it at all anymore and can easily go all week on just water. I don't even like squash anymore! I think it can seriously affect some people but touch wood I'm almost a stone and a half down.

I definitely had issues with low/tiredness in beginning- you need to look at electrolytes above.

Yay Rshard ! Fabulous NSV !!
Laska2Meryls · 03/07/2020 09:12

Scales still ain't moving !! But I noticed yesterday that my nice wide leg jeans are developing a bit of a low crutch ! I may need to get a belt !

Laska2Meryls · 03/07/2020 09:13

.....they were really 'suck in tummy hard to do up ' a few weeks ago ...

CalendulaAndRoses · 03/07/2020 09:42

@Rshard and @Laska2Meryls BRILLIANT NSVs both. Congratulations!!

quite envious of you guys as despite my losses so far the trousers still aren't loosening - I think that's down to menopausal belly though. Other things are loosening, just not trousers. A dress I love that has always been a little tight around the rib cage is fitting beautifully now for example

@ElizabethHoneysuckle i think you need to give it at least a week. What I can say though is that now, on week 6 , I feel like I have more energy than I have done in a VERY long time

CalendulaAndRoses · 03/07/2020 09:44

@Takingontheworld congrats to you too on the consistent losses, am sure the scales aren't lying.. And WRT the work filming, just remember you will look much slimmer than this time 6 weeks ago so that's a win!

ElizabethHoneysuckle · 03/07/2020 09:46

Thanks takingontheworld yes will try over a time shift the balance much more to water. And thanks calendula that's what I'm looking forward to! I've felt so sluggish for so long.

NigellaAwesome · 03/07/2020 10:21

Morning all, amazing scales and clothes victories. When I put on my favourite cropped jeans a few weeks ago they were tight, but wearable. I went round to my Mum's, sat down and popped the zip! I repaired them, and now they are quite loose. My size 14 shorts that I bought almost this time last year are still a bit snug not that I need them anyway with this weather

I bought rude health almond milk the other day, and it's cut with rice milk. Didn't realise when I bought 5 of them on my online order. 10.5carbs per 100ml 😡
It was revoltingly sweet. My usual almond dream is only 0.2g carbs per 100

MrsKoala · 03/07/2020 11:20

I’m impressed at all the exercise people are managing. I still haven’t been able to do any really.

Well done on the trousers Rshard. I put my jeans on yesterday (which fit me fine before BC) expecting them to be loose but they were just as tight/fitted as before. But they are high waisted stretch type jeans so I suppose it’s to be expected even if I was a little disappointed. I weighed today and have put on 2.5lb which takes me to 11st 13.5 so still clinging on to the 11s with my fingernails. Grin

I’m lucky I don’t drink sweet fizzy drinks anyway, but could soda water with a squeeze of lime satisfy the fizz tang craving?

prettybird · 03/07/2020 13:10

I'm feeling very smug because I went out for a 5km run today after doing The Shred in the rain ShockHalo

Before I get too carried away with my Halo, I'm still trying to make up for a wee bout of the fuck-its a bar of Mackies chocolate and too many peanuts at the weekend. And not enough water Blush So I'm still up half a pound on where I'd got last week Hmm

Rshard · 03/07/2020 13:47

Thanks for the NSV congratulations 🤗

Well done on needing a belt on your jeans laska

Very impressive running in the rain prettybird, it’s quite refreshing isn’t it. So long as you can jump in the shower when you get home!
