Evening campers!

Setting this up now, as I had a bad night last night so I'm sloping off to bed early

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

@Takingontheworld

Sorry I can't remember who said but I'm also experiencing cravings and hunger again. Annoying cos it was revolutionary to not feel that..
Either you're not eating enough or you're not eating enough fat - possibly both!

And are you drinking all the water?

@NumbsMet

Hello 👋🏻

Just checking in to say hi. I hope other people are doing well! DP and I have been craving quiche (or anything to do with pastry really) and I have to say I outdid myself yesterday. He found a recipe on MFP for a pie using cauliflower as the crust. My goodness, did it hit the spot. It's very different to anything I've ever cooked before but totally worth it. Definitely recommend!! I hope my pictures attach... crust got a little bit burned at the top but I really didn't care about that. Plus that's user error!!

Can you post the recipe on the relevant recipe thread, please? That looks/sounds lovely!

JUST A REMINDER TO YOU ALL - THIS WOE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT ABOUT LOW CALORIE OR LOW FAT. IT'S A HIGH FAT WAY OF EATING!

Please don't think you'll lose weight by not using butter, or cream, or cheese, or oil, or mayonnaise (etc)

It's the fat that keeps us satiated.

And for all those who are worried - there is no link between fat and coronary heart disease (apart from transfats, which we should be excluding anyway.)

... and here's a piece from Zoe Harcombe to explain that here

Does anyone else nearly throw up with egg? It happens to me from time to time. Something that "just" egg sometimes wants to come straight back up again Envy No allergies. Think maybe it's just a bit rich?

NumbsMet · 06/06/2020 12:55

@BIWI of course! Blush very sorry! I'll find the thread now and add it x

Takingontheworld · 06/06/2020 13:05

Brassica yes I get that!

Similarly with meat though sometimes.

BIWI, according to macros (i know you guys aren't counting strictly speaking!) My fat is where it should be.

I'm gonna up the water but I'm so sure I'm having enough. My 750ml bottle is refilled the minute it's empty, lively every hour, 2 max.

Ninkanink · 06/06/2020 13:06

I mostly love eggs. But once in a while I really don’t fancy them and then I know to leave well alone. No idea why it happens.

Hmmm it’s lunch time!

prettybird · 06/06/2020 13:16

I've just had some of my left over chargrilled broccoli and halloumi. Yummm Smile

Tonight is steak with asparagus, fried shallots and possibly some green beans. (Dh will be having his with chips, onions and buttery mushrooms) Smile

AthelstaneTheUnready · 06/06/2020 13:18

I'm with the on-off eggs as well. Mostly they're amazing, but occasionally they're not. Usually if I'd had a cold plain boiled egg I go off them for a bit, but anything else added has always been fine.

At the moment I'm almost daily eggs with butter, salt&pepper, and spring onions, parsley, dill from the garden - I don't get a revulsion feeling with that.

NumbsMet · 06/06/2020 13:36

Okay, I've typed up the recipe and added it to the vegetarian low carb recipe thread and also to a thread where @Squishybones was asking for a crustless quiche recipe Smile

venusandmars · 06/06/2020 13:55

Having never had a problem with eggs before, this morning I felt decidedly quesy when I put my scrambled egg in my mouth.. Will revert to fried, poached or boiled for a while.

Brunch - leftover fried fish with aforementioned yucky eggs
D - paneer muttar (curry with halloumi and peas) I've used grated courgette instead of most of the peas.

My little girl has asked for a Chinese take away tonight.

Any ideas what to order that I can have?

Or shall I skip it completely and make something separate for my dinner...?

BIWI · 06/06/2020 14:58

Just came across this video about intermittent fasting which you might find interesting.

If they do chicken satay, that's not too bad.

Avoid anything in sweet sauces, obviously - sweet & sour, lemon, etc.

Stir-fried vegetables are usually OK.

See if they do lettuce wraps - essentially like Peking Duck wraps, but the wraps are lettuce leaves, and the filling is a mixture of diced pork and vegetables.

Is their menu online? If you post it, I'll have a look and see if there's anything else we can pick out.

OP posts:
moleeye · 06/06/2020 15:57

@BIWI no unfortunately the menu isn't online 😔. Thank you for the offer!

I think I'll just have some crispy duck (sans wraps and hoisin sauce) and make my own veg at home. I think It'll be easier for me to control this way as I'm struggling this week.

BIWI · 06/06/2020 15:59

Good idea - if you're struggling, no need to put yourself in the way of temptation!

Why are you struggling? Anything we can help you with?

Checking in to confess - DS turned 18 yesterday and we had a socially-distanced garden celebration and barbecue, I drank a fair bit of bubbly and had a shot of tequila BUT I didn't have any carbs to my credit - ate a sausage, pork steak and a burger, no buns, pork scratchings, greek yoghurt and a huge bowl of salad. Still managed to IF today, despite a hangover. Prior to the booze I weighed in and had lost another 2lbs, fingers crossed they are still gone on monday! Good to hear that everyone is doing do well. Sorry, BIWIBlush

moleeye · 06/06/2020 16:11

Just one of those weeks, I think being in lockdown has finally hit me, I've been a bit weepy.

I miss my mum who I see at least twice a week, she lives by herself and hasn't had a hug for so long. The baby is turning into a toddler and my 5 year old is turning into a stroppy teenager.

I had a meltdown on a work video call with my team on Thursday to my eternal shame.

It'll pass as these things do, stuffing my face won't help me feel better and I know I'll feel rubbish after.

On the plus side my OH is super supportive and we are doing this together, he's been sending me ideas for our meals this week so that's been good.

I'll get there! 😊

1WildTeaParty · 06/06/2020 16:26

Sounds like a tough week @moleeye ! Flowers Hope it is a better one next week - well done for sticking it out.

SparklesAllOver · 06/06/2020 16:30
