Evening campers!

Setting this up now, as I had a bad night last night so I'm sloping off to bed early

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Seriously - if you haven't had a look, explore all the different resources on the tabs

No worries prettybird, I’ve not made it for ages so a handy reminder and perfect for a miserable day like today. I also use shallots instead of onions.

Poor dd is swimming in a lake in the pouring rain and I’m sheltering in the case, this time last week I was sunbathing - bit different, come back ☀️

prettybird · 06/06/2020 10:28

littlebillie - of course you can join in Smile Of you want to go onto the spreadsheet, do a shout out to Athelstane

Read the OP (and the rest of the thread) and have a good read of the resources in the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness. You maybe don't need to do our special Lockdown pre-week (which was last week) unless you really want to which was not "normal" Boot Camp as it involved calorie counting. Especially if you are new to HFLC, it's probably easiest to jump in where we are now.

Takingontheworld · 06/06/2020 10:52

Devoncreamtea, interesting- did you change anything or just keep calm and carry on until they shifted again? Congrats on your weightloss.

I'm struggling with the urge for daily weigh but know I need to stay off for at least a few days.

Annoyed with myself for putting the chicken in the freezer cos I really want more tikka chicken now 😂

Takingontheworld · 06/06/2020 10:53

Sorry I can't remember who said but I'm also experiencing cravings and hunger again. Annoying cos it was revolutionary to not feel that..

Puppermint · 06/06/2020 10:55

‘Big time’ should have been ‘big toms’ for the tomato, mozzarella and basil salad I had planned for lunch. Typically, I remembered as I was unpacking the shopping at home after spending ages wandering up and down the aisles of Sainsbury’s muttering ‘big time, big time’ to myself. Feckin’ useless memory!!

Hello 👋🏻

Just checking in to say hi. I hope other people are doing well! DP and I have been craving quiche (or anything to do with pastry really) and I have to say I outdid myself yesterday. He found a recipe on MFP for a pie using cauliflower as the crust. My goodness, did it hit the spot. It's very different to anything I've ever cooked before but totally worth it. Definitely recommend!! I hope my pictures attach... crust got a little bit burned at the top but I really didn't care about that. Plus that's user error!!

Got any pesto, @Puppermint? A small amount of that could kinda replace your tang from the tomatoes?

AthelstaneTheUnready · 06/06/2020 11:04

oh my, numbsmet, that looks cracking! Would you share the recipe? I miss quiche and could give this a whirl.

Ninkanink · 06/06/2020 11:05

It’s important to learn to ride the cravings.

Hunger is different - you can just eat a little something, and up your fats in your next meal. But cravings are emotional or habit-driven at this stage. Going away and doing something with your hands is my best suggestion (I’ve got a cross stitch kit I’m going to start), and I’ve found that actually I accomplish quite a lot by just saying to myself ‘ok it’s time to get x job or chore done’ - 5 - 15 minutes doing one of the things on my to-do list seems to be enough to break that hold and I get to feel better through doing something that’s been niggling away at me, as well. Reading and watching television don’t work as well as distractions because I think too many people have habits of eating/drinking whilst doing so.

I don’t know what I’m going to eat today. Something egg based for lunch and possibly something lamb based for dinner.

Puppermint · 06/06/2020 11:05

Ooh pesto is a good shout, thanks Athelstane

devoncreamtea · 06/06/2020 11:11

Brilliant image of you wandering around Sains puppermint !!! So annoying that you tempered too late tho.
Takingontheworld I have been very frustrated!!! I did what I was supposed to do and did lose an inch from waist so I knew it was working, but for some reason it wasn’t showing on the scales! Although I didn’t like the cal counting last week much because it was faffy and I kept thinking about cal not carb (which I know I don’t want to do hence going for a lchf approach) it did help me visualise fat, protein and carb macros (I used mfp). I’ve carried on logging food this week to check carbs. I don’t really think I’m doing anything different though in term of food - just I can see it. I think this weeks weight loss is just playing catch up!
Thanks for the congrats! 😊

NumbsMet · 06/06/2020 11:20

@AthelstaneTheUnready I've been desperately trying to find a link to share it from the app but no luck. I'll attach screenshots of the recipe, let me know if it works!!

And the fourth one...

devoncreamtea · 06/06/2020 11:23

Re cravings - I agree Ninkanink - so much is habit. I can’t watch TV atm because I associate it watching telly with wine and crisps 😳
Upping fat is a really good plan. I had a swig of cream the other day (not that I am recommending that as a solution !!) and 5 mins later I felt different. I’m trying to use coconut oil and more butter in cooking so I just feel level until my next meal instead of starving - which is when I start thinking about quick fixes.
Yesterday’s day at work (which used to be a breeze, but with all the extra weirdness of distancing in school is now v. Stressful!!) I was worried about what to eat as school dinners aren’t exactly low carb 🤣 so I packed fat - cheese, yog, salami roll ups, olives. As well as my salad. And I felt pretty good energy wise (despite 2 fights to break up!!!!)

NumbsMet · 06/06/2020 11:23

Oh and also... I added more grated cheese to the top and an extra egg to the filling. I'm going to try making one with a ham and cheese filling Grin

devoncreamtea · 06/06/2020 11:24

Blimey Numbsmet that looks amazing!

NumbsMet · 06/06/2020 11:33

@devoncreamtea thank you! I encourage anybody who is missing pastry to give this a go. Personally, because calories aren't a bother for this WOE, I'm going to add a lot more Parmesan to the crust next time to make it richer.

Takingontheworld · 06/06/2020 11:40

How many do you reckon it served Numbs?

NumbsMet · 06/06/2020 11:45

Well, the recipe suggested cutting into 7 (yeah right) - I felt very satisfied with a quarter of it along with a bit of salad.

NumbsMet · 06/06/2020 11:46

Sorry - I meant to clarify I mean it would comfortably serve 4, or 3 if feeling very hungry Grin

AthelstaneTheUnready · 06/06/2020 11:55

Thank you, NumbsMet!

This is at the outer limits of my technical ability, but if it's raining tomorrow and there's a cauliflower in the nearest village I am so giving it a go.

Actually, I think I may have some frozen cauliflower in the freezer, so all we need is rain! Grin

NumbsMet · 06/06/2020 12:06

I used frozen cauliflower!! I'd love to see pictures if anybody gives it a go. Fingers crossed for rain Grin

NigellaAwesome · 06/06/2020 12:12

Afternoon all,

A strange thing has happened on the scales for the last 2 mornings. Digital scales, batteries fine.

Yesterday I woke at 4.45. Went to the loo and weighed myself - 91.8kg. Went back to bed, lay until 9.00am, weighed again and I was 91.4kg! No poo to account for the difference. This morning was the same - got up at 5.00, had a pee and then weighed. 91kg. When I got up again at 9.00am, I was 90.8kg! I am obviously delighted, and since 5.00am to 9.00am appears to be some mystical fat-burning period, I have vowed to stay in bed until 9.00 each morning.

It is cold and grey here too. I am making the most of the poor weather and am planning to sort through old toys and list some things that I have been meaning to sell. I had forgotten about the energy boost that lc gives you.

Do you think that Big Time might be bacon? When I add stuff to my shopping list via Alexa she has a bit of trouble understanding the Norn Iron accent.

Hope you all have a good day. New thread tomorrow!

NigellaAwesome · 06/06/2020 12:19

Oh, sorry, I missed that Big Time is Big Tom. Makes sense.

Rshard · 06/06/2020 12:24

That made me chuckle too puppermint!

That quiche looks amazing numbsnet
