Evening campers!

Setting this up now, as I had a bad night last night so I'm sloping off to bed early

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Seriously - if you haven't had a look, explore all the different resources on the tabs

I can only really do yoga (no high impact due to various injuries) so hoping I'll be able to continue with that. I do 10,000 or more per day too.

Stickies? Um....(sorry bit dense!)

BrassicaBabe · 03/06/2020 19:58

" It's worth reading 'The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance' by Drs Vinny and Pholek - they explain the science behind this really well."

That book is drier than a desert in a drought but BIWI is quite correct, it's a very informative book.

Couple of things - first, you don't need to exercise to lose weight, so don't worry about that. Second, if you go to the Bootcamp topic, you'll find the recipe threads all at the top - they always stay at the top, which is what I mean by 'stickied'

@BIWI no, the only thing they told me is my oestrogen is very high (basically my body is responding a bit too enthusiastically to the IVF drugs). I’ve been measuring my ketones - they’ve been pretty high but my weight has definitely been increasing.

LostaraYil · 03/06/2020 20:37

I'm feeling too tired to exercise much atm, last week was mostly ok but this week I have felt exhausted most of the time. I still have to walk the dogs, which is great, but can't drag myself to the squat rack... I will try to read the book and hope that my energy will pick up soon!
L- salad with hot smoked salmon
D- chilli and hm coleslaw
S- coffee with cream

TheOriginalMrsMoss · 03/06/2020 20:58

A weird selection of food today and not enough water.

In no particular order;
Some peanuts
Some seaweed crisps (don't ask)
Bouillon soup
2 boiled eggs
Chilli, cheese, spring onions and green veg 'rice'

Actually, written down it doesn't look too terrible. It just wasn't that nice or fulfilling to eat and a bit salty (but I do love salty things).

I need to get back on the water because this made so much difference last week.

And I could do with taking a bit more time to menu plan and prep nice things to eat.

Puppermint · 03/06/2020 20:59

Another day done. No change on the scales this morning but keeping the faith. Short run tonight with a friend. Kept our distance but nice to have a chat with someone other than DH or DS.

L: lardons, mushroom and shallot omelette, salad with olive oil
D: sausages, swede mash, brocolli and asparagus in butter

Running short on fresh veg but can't face a supermarket trip Sad

Are you eating enough fat? Difficult to tell from what you've written, but it could be that there's not enough fat in there.

@TheOriginalMrsMoss

Peanuts? Not in the first two weeks of Bootcamp - unless you're vegetarian.

I know BIWI. I fell off the wagon but it seemed better than scones and jam with a Viennese whirl chaser. It was A Bad Day.

Duly noted and I won't do it again I promise.

BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls · 03/06/2020 21:14

Had the rest of the duck in a stir fry for tea, more gorgeous food! Randomly came on a week late today, periods are already a bit doolally without losing weight though Grin
My periods are usually a doddle, but this one is horrible and I’ve been feeling crap all day. Haven’t slipped up though Smile

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 03/06/2020 22:18

Aargh. Week 9 of home school has driven me to wine.

I can stick to the woe. I've stuck through redundancy, lockdown, not seeing my mum for 14 weeks....but I can't skip a glass of wine.

Today it took 3 hours to get through half of a day of maths. We've moved past consolidation and are on new stuff and my DD just doesn't get it. I'm not a teacher. I understand it but can't explain it to an 8 year old.

Ugh.

At least I didn't hit the sugar. Small victories.

Mixitupalot · 03/06/2020 22:23

Evening, I’ve been for a 5K run with DH and I am so hungry. Anyone else doing quite bit of exercise what’s decent to eat before we go? (Apart from eggs)

Yumsnet · 03/06/2020 22:35

I also had a crap day & the cravings for Nutella on white toast were strong... I had 15 grams of pecan nuts instead (I know..! but it could have been worse).

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 03/06/2020 22:39

@yumsnet 15g of pecans is great going.

BIWI · 03/06/2020 22:48

That's exactly what you have done though.

No it's not.

I'm sorry you had a bad day @Yumsnet but nuts aren't allowed yet.

I know, annoyed with myself now - I wasn’t even hungry!

csa26 · 03/06/2020 23:20

Sorry, @BIWI - had a big blowout tonight. Just too sad about embryo transfer this month. Back on the wagon tomorrow. Just have 1 more day of injections to get through... (The good news is from Sunday onwards I can be as strict as I like and not have to worry about possible effects on fertility for the next couple of weeks at least 👍)

Hopeislost · 04/06/2020 03:47

I had a wobble tonight. PMT kicked in and I wanted to eat ALL THE THINGS!

Luckily I don't have any crap in the house. I had two babybels and a cup of tea (with milk) and that seemed to take the edge off.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 04/06/2020 06:40

Had a few wobbly lower lip days, so kept my head down and ploughed on with the aid of a) early nights, b) more food, c) bingeing on the All4 free Buffy series.

And doh! Something I should have remembered from previous bootcamps - my weight tends to come off in fits and starts. Those fits and starts are normally preceeded by a couple of days of dismal waily waily sadness.

No idea why - there is a theory that the hormones stored in fat cells and released when you lose weight can affect you. But that would make me extremely sensitive to what must be tiny estrogen changes.

ANYHOW. I have woken up this morning to a sudden drop of 3.5lbs on the scales, so I will put my last few days of WAAAAH down to burning fat during that time.

There seems to be a bit of it about on the thread, so KOKO and it may be the same reason for you!

Have a good day everyone! Flowers

1stMrsF · 04/06/2020 06:58

Blleugh. Not a good night. Insomnia at 2/3/4...

Scales are hovering slightly higher than my lowest in the last week but I feel much thinner. Will try on my measurement shorts and KOKO especially with the water. Have a good day!

csa26 · 04/06/2020 07:23

Well done to everybody powering through the wobbly days. This is what I woke up to this morning - definitely helping with the disappointment of yesterday! (And the guilt over first child not yet having a sibling Grin )

@csa26- that is unbelievably cute!

@BIWI thank you for your advice about the soya milk. I feel I can do this, if I can drink tea Wink

Also thank you and @venusandmars for the veggie advice. I added loads of spinach and then some broccoli to my creamy chicken casserole and I felt more human after it.

Feeling fine this morning.

Good luck to everyone!
