@Freetodowhatiwant

Is anyone else weighing themselves every day? I do like doing it as it keeps me in check but today has been annoying as it’s the first day I haven’t seen even a slight drop.

You can't expect to see a loss every day. Some days you may even find your weight goes up, for no apparent reason!

Daily weighing is good to keep you on track, but you have to be able to cope, psychologically, with seeing no change or an increase.

MrsFionaCharming your symptoms are exactly the same as my husband had when drinking too much green tea

Freetodowhatiwant · 03/06/2020 10:12

Thanks @biwi, yeah I can handle it. It helps motivate me to keep going!

Remind me when we are going to boot camp light? Is it two weeks on boot camp ordinaire? I can’t think of anything really I’m missing, seem to be managing well without fruit.

BIWI · 03/06/2020 10:16

Yep. This week and next is full-on Bootcamp, then weeks 4 & 5 are Bootcamp Light. (If you wish - no need to move on if it's working for you)

Morning all - still continuing with the IF although I really fancy a big cappuccino at the moment! Must resist! ☕️☕️
Like the HALT or TALT mentioned above - food has such an emotional link and it’s hard when you’re feeling down or want to relax not to ‘treat’ yourself - I suppose the only thing it’s not much of a treat if it makes you overweight and unhealthy. That’s what I think of - every time the craving starts - what is my goal and why? Not sure it’s about willpower but breaking that comfort link over time - that’s what I’m trying anyway!

Lunch - will be a chorizo omelette and salad
Dinner - chiffoned kale and feta salad with griddled salmon
Snack if needed yoghurt!

The weather seems to have turned here which makes it more difficult to stay motivated for me anyways! Especially when the OH is walking around with buttered toast 😓😓
Will jump on the treadmill later or go out for a walk. Hope everyone else has a good day! 🙂

moleeye · 03/06/2020 11:21

Been lurking this BC, struggling today.

Have just had a couple babybel's, some Boursin and the leftover brussel sprouts from last night. Going to make lunch now as I'm climbing the walls for crap to shove in my mouth.

Still doing 16:8 (or 18:6 as the case may be) as we have dinner with the kids at 5.

Just one of those days I guess, but I'm going to really try and not fall face first off the wagon!

BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls · 03/06/2020 11:21

Morning all, just had my creamy coffee and checking in :)

Notwatchingtvtoday · 03/06/2020 12:09

Morning all, really helpful to read how your all doing and some of the posts have really made me smile.

We have had a delivery of fresh fish today, realised that we had got into a bit of a rut with eating chicken and red meat. Was encouraged by the poster who said they cooked a fillet and then ate leftovers as an easy meal 😀
Am drinking loads of water and have kept up the exercise, have got just over a 1 lb to go to get back to where I was at the end of last boot camp. I really had a craving for carbs yesterday afternoon, totally out of the blue, had a long drink of water with lemon in it and it went away.

Today
B Greek yogurt
L smoked fish and salad
D salmon and FLGV

I found my old keto sticks this morning and I am outraged to discover that I am not in ketosis. Angry

Been well under 40g carbs per day for 8 days now. I’m doing something wrong. I’ve also only lost 3lb and I’m not cheating!!!

Ditch them.

If you're drinking the amount of water that you should be, then the sticks won't change anyway.

And why are you counting your carbs?! Bootcamp isn't about counting.

If you're following the rules, you will lose weight.

And you HAVE lost weight! - what do you mean 'only' 3lbs?!

Patience. If you're genuinely not cheating, and you've lost 3lbs, then it is working.

Hi all,

Horrendous food cravings today. But that’s par for the course for me - I’m on day three. Got through it with distraction, watching YouTube vlogs. Now having a cup of mint tea before i eat.

Lunch (breakfast) is going to be fried egg, streaky bacon and avocado.

BrassicaBabe · 03/06/2020 12:48

Jees I need to do some menu planning. Currently trying to defrost a leg of lamb in the microwave 🙄

BIWI · 03/06/2020 12:55

Good luck with that!

I’ve been putting everything in to MFP last week and carried on and it added up the carbs for me. That’s a good point about the water. I’m drinking loads.

1Wildheartsease · 03/06/2020 12:57

Love the idea of 'strawberry day' in the future :). Well worth waiting for.

Sorry about your DM @Laska2Meryls Flowers - well done on dropping the wine (and soon lots of weight).

1Wildheartsease · 03/06/2020 13:00

@BrassicaBabe - trying to imagine a leg of lamb in our microwave ...clearly we did get the 'micro' version - or your lambs have very little legs.

BIWI · 03/06/2020 13:13

@ExShield

Although I think you're doing fine, why not list for me what you've been eating and drinking over the last few days, just i case there's something I can spot?

@BIWI
Hello, I am a long time lurker and have tried Bootcamp 3 times previously, always falling off the wagon after a few days because it makes me feel so horrible and I am wondering if you have some advice please?
I don't get headaches, I just feel that I am always starving hungry, no matter how much fat I eat and then I start feeling like my head is very tight and I feel sick to my stomach.
I also get heart palpitations/pounding heart.
I have been using Diet Doctor meal plans since Monday and am now on day 3 of eating like this. Again, the same symptoms have started and I feel like caving in again.
I am 1.68 tall and weigh 66 kg. I would like to weigh 62-63 kg and get rid of some belly fat.
Please would you be able to look at today's menu and let me know where I am going wrong?
B- coffee with 10g butter
S-coffee with 15ml double cream
L: I was starving, so I had 2 eggs, 10g butter, a tea spoon of mayo, 2 radishes, some left over tuna mayo (1 tablespoon), 50g lettuce and 30g of brie.

I also had a cup of tea with 100ml unsweetened soya milk ( it says

MrsFionaCharming · 03/06/2020 13:22

I’ve ordered some electrolyte replacement.

I don’t drink anything caffeinated, and I have been adding salt to my food. I think I’m getting plenty of sodium, but might be missing something else.

I can’t get to my GP at the moment, but I might stay late at work and give myself an ECG.

The palpitations only happen when I’m reading the news, on social media, or in bed. So I’m fairly certain they’re anxiety related, just thought it would be good to rule out a dietary cause.

BIWI · 03/06/2020 13:25

Welcome @kakiqueen

What you're suffering from is carb flu.

First thing to say is that it willI pass! Second, though, I'd suggests that you up your carbs a little - that should help with the palpitations.

You need to sort your electrolytes out - sodium, magnesium and potassium.

Sodium is especially important - so cook with salt and add it to your food. Have a hot drink made from Oxo, Bovril or Marmite.

For the others, key foods are salmon, spinach, avocado and full fat natural (Greek) yoghurt. You might also want to try a supplement - the one I usually suggest is Zero, made by High 5 - you can get it from the High 5 website, or from Holland & Barrett, Evans Cycles, Halfords and (probably) Amazon.

Don't give up!

@BIWI
Thank you so much for your quick reply.
I always though carb flu involved a headache and body aches, but this makes sense.
So do you think I should have some yoghurt and a hot drink made from a stock cube now?
I think I will do that and see how I feel.

I will also look into the electrolyte supplements.

Thank you so much!

kakiqueen · 03/06/2020 13:36

@BIWI
Hello again. Please may I check if soya milk is ok as it has such a low carb count?
Thank you.

ExShield · 03/06/2020 13:45

Ignore the timings, I put it all in at the end of the day, but this is what I had.
