Good evening!

Trying to get ahead of everything, as I know tomorrow will be a real rush with people signing up, etc.

Here's the spreadsheet with many thanks to the ever lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for her sterling efforts

Thanks for the list @BIWI much appreciated

I made myself a useful shoppping list print out and am just back from the suermarket - seeing the amount of fine veg and greens going in and lovely fresh and tinned fish (I don't eat much meat) my mood started to perk right up

had a delicious soup - two leeks fried in butter and then added small amount of stock made from last nights roast duck and water and blitzed it. Plenty for both DP and I and blooming tasty. Had that with a boiled egg for lunch. Yum.

I'm not doing calorie counting as it turns me totally psycho but I even cutting out alcohol (and all the crap I like to snack on once I've had a drink) nuts and seeds etc and the odd other snack I'm hoping will kick start something...

CalendulaAndRoses · 25/05/2020 15:53

good points about butter PP - as I said I am not calorie counting but I may just weigh out what my usual knob of butter translates to in terms of calories for bit of a wake up call and be a little more mindful in future, without obsessing over it

I think like a lot of PP I've been LCHF'ing for a while, but then gotten less strict over time and started allowing other stuff in (booze, crisps, the odd slice of DP's fecking delicious homemade bread) , while sticking with the same high amounts of fat etc - It's only going to lead one way I guess, but I never really put two and two together til now. SO a good wake up call already!!

SophieRay · 25/05/2020 15:57

Are chilli flakes ok to use?? TIA

prettybird · 25/05/2020 15:58

I like the Lidl Full Fat Greek yoghurt (which is lovely and creamy and still 10% fat Smile) with a generous pinch of cinnamon, which satisfies my need for "sweetness" Smile

And apparently cinnamon is also good for you Grin

CalendulaAndRoses · 25/05/2020 16:01

@SophieRay - yes to chili flakes according to one of the sheets in the google doc

@prettybird - I must check the Lidl yoghurts next time - I found it tough to find a full fat in the supermarket today

is milk in tea allowed once we are in the IF eating window? I think we are

BIWI · 25/05/2020 16:01

yes @SophieRay, chilli flakes are fine

SophieRay · 25/05/2020 16:04

Thanks Calendula and BIWI. I did look on the google doc but couldn't find them Blush

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 25/05/2020 16:05

Thought I’d make a cottage pie for dinner (obviously in this heat wave a hearty warming meal is a great idea Confused )

Have made a regular one for the DCs, a veggie one for DS1 and a low carb one for me!

Been out here about 2 hours now but they smell lush so I think it’s worth it!

I drew the line at making a separate base for the DCs, so they’ve got mushrooms, leeks and courgettes in theirs too. Just waiting for potatoes for them. Hope I don’t get them mixed up Grin

I’m awake - just in time for Demonic’s press conference🙄 I feel a lot better now, just a bit washed out and dehydrated. Obvs missed breakfast and lunch anyway. Currently having a large mug of bullion and mint tea and if that stays in situ will probably try some scrambled eggs for dinner and an early night.

BIWI · 25/05/2020 16:45

@CalendulaAndRoses yes you can have milk in your tea/coffee in the eating window - just be aware that it can quickly get very carby, so keep it to a minimum/don't have too many cups. If you can tolerate it with cream instead, that's better - on the carb front at least.

OP posts:
CalendulaAndRoses · 25/05/2020 16:51

Thanks @BIWI - I have cream and can happily tolerate that. Though for this week will try to limit it from the calorie perspective. With all the water I don't have space for drinking my usual 8 to 10 cups of builders anyway Grin

BIWI · 25/05/2020 16:57

Could I please, please possibly get added to the spreadsheet? I've been on previous bootcamp successfully (and a couple not so successfully) and a short sharp shock is probably just what I need. I've basically been wallowing in sugar and alcohol (or should that be marinading?). I've thus put on a horrifying amount of weight, but of more immediate concern are my aching joints and my awful cardio fitness.
I've just stumbled across bootcamp today after already eating all sorts, so obviously today will not be counting!! But I'm looking forward to accountability and structure to my eating and exercising.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 25/05/2020 17:29

You're on, Notlost!

sunshinewishes · 25/05/2020 17:45

First day down.

IF being done, so;

Lunch scrambled egg and smoked salmon with an avocado.

Dinner was salmon (baked) with broccoli and asparagus as well as some pan fried shrimp cooked in butter and chilli.

3 bottles of water down too.

Ifeelfat · 25/05/2020 18:08

sunshinewishes better get to bed Grin

PseudoBadger · 25/05/2020 18:16

Dinner - salad of tuna mayo, cucumber celery and 2 boiled eggs
I’ve had one tea with Milk and will have a coffee with cream now. Then I’m done

AthelstaneTheUnready · 25/05/2020 18:29

First day done!

2.5L water drunk
1 hour walk taken
1020 calories consumed

  • consisting of cream, chard, kale, romaine, butter, fried fresh mackerel, leeks, broccoli
  • fat 65%, protein 24%, carbs 11% (12g)

I have been boggling at MFP again. I know people say "ooh, eat fatty fish" but I hadn't clocked just how fatty they were!

JustFrigginNameChange · 25/05/2020 18:44

I've got pretty bad carb cravings already.

I've snacked on 2 hard boiled eggs but the craving's still there.

Heeeeelp

Hopeislost · 25/05/2020 18:52

@JustFrigginNameChange You can do this! Can you have a cup of herbal tea to tide yourself over?

BrassicaBabe · 25/05/2020 18:52

In the early days JustFriggin...ummm...go to bed?! Sorry. It'll pass. Honest.

5k run
11k steps
5k v gentle bike ride with kids
L: celery soup
D: salmon and buttered leek
10g carbs

More gentle exercise tomorrow by way or "recovery"

Flippinfurloughed · 25/05/2020 18:55

@JustFrigginNameChange brush your teeth and goto bed! It’s day 1, you can do this!

Puppermint · 25/05/2020 18:59

Closing the kitchen on 805 cals (am aiming for Fast Diet levels but giving leeway of up to 1000 if I need it) and 15g carbs.

Food was:
L: celery soup
D: baked chicken thighs from the spreadsheet (amazing and would be lovely BBQ-d) with a salad of leaves, toms, cucumber, avocado, in red wine vinegar and olive oil dressing.

Exercise was:
50 min circuits session and an hour dog walk.

Still have a bit more water to get through but otherwise pleased with Day 1.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 25/05/2020 19:04

Hot drink usually sorts it for me. Creamy coffee or proper tea (lactose free milk) if it’s within the 8 hour window. Or herbal/mint tea if not. Bear with it - a couple of days and you’ll be right as rain.

I’m an absolute cake fiend and have resisted (as in, it wasn’t even an effort to resist) two cakes this week made by my DS. It’s a ruddy miracle I tell you! Today I’ve had some bacon and eggs for lunch and a cottage pie and cabbage for tea. I only ate half my portion of cottage pie as I was so full. And I’m a total gannet usually (16 stone starting weight for reference!! Blush ) You can do this Brew

JustFrigginNameChange · 25/05/2020 19:16

I'll have a cuppa Smile

Big respect to those of you managing less than 1000 cals! There's no way I can do that. I'm pregnant so perhaps that's making me feel more hungry? I had been extremely carby throughout the first trimester, mainly to stave off the sickness.
