Good evening!

Trying to get ahead of everything, as I know tomorrow will be a real rush with people signing up, etc.

Here's the spreadsheet with many thanks to the ever lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for her sterling efforts

"went wrong" was me being polite - DP added herbs that I didn't like and the taste had infused through the whole thing :(

TheOriginalMrsMoss · 29/05/2020 21:04

Takeaway night tonight and I was unusually restrained;

Grilled chicken kebab with green peppers and onions, large salad and chilli sauce. I avoided my usual chips, hummous and Pepsi and had coffee and cream and a square of vlc bar.

Gallons of water - I've never drunk so much in my life but don't feel hungry at all until I start eating. It's so weird but the less frequently I eat, the less inclined I am to eat. Early days though.

ShagMeRiggins · 29/05/2020 21:30

cherries I might have missed this—why are you camping at home?

Don’t get me wrong, sounds great!

Ah, I made a joke about it this morning and DD (who is 23 and home while shielding) thought a)I was serious and b) it sounded a great idea to have a holiday at home. So...here we are. I drew the line at the chemical toilet though - we are allowed into the house to use the loo at the back door.
LostaraYil · 29/05/2020 23:12

Camping in the garden sounds fab, might see if I can convince DH. My teenagers are mostly nocturnal so would just keep me awake, they can go inside after a compulsory game of Uno.
Good day today, I was feeling very motivated and got lots done.
L- roast pork and veg
Snack- creamy coffee
D- chicken korma with cauliflower and broccoli
I cooked dinner early so I finished my eating window by 6:30, and I'm not sure whether to try to fast till 12 tomorrow or just move everything earlier for now. I'll see how I feel tomorrow. It was difficult watching DH work his way through a beer and a bottle of wine this evening. I spoke to him last week and asked him not to offer or bring me drinks or chocolate (which has become habit during lockdown) and he's happy to respect my wishes, so I guess I have to tolerate his choices?

prettybird · 30/05/2020 00:32

Had a lovely evening with my dad celebrating the easing of lockdown in Scotland. He came over for a braai South African for BBQ - all suitably physically distanced and with sterilised cutlery and crockery that only my dad used. He even brought his own wine glass and water glass Grin

So after a lunch of a 1/4 of a 6 egg Parmesan, leek & shallot frittata and a slice of salami Milano, I had a supper of my home made boerewors; a lamb kebab that had been marinaded in ras-al-hanout, olive oil and squish of lemon juice; a green salad (with little gem lettuce, rocket from the garden a tomato amongst 3 of us with salad left over , radishes, cucumber and spring onion and a simple olive oil, lemon juice and grain mustard dressing; a really garlicky tzatziki; a braaied slice of courgette and 3 asparagus spears.

We opened a bottle of a new white wine and a bottle of red wine (that we've only just started stocking again after a gap of a number of years). I literally just tasted each of them (and they were indeed very nice) and then sat for the rest of the evening glugging strawberry, cucumber and mint water while Dh and my dad each had a glass or two Smile

prettybird · 30/05/2020 00:36

Forgot to post the picture.

Even served up berries and cream, as well as tablet with coffee and resisted them both Halo

Yeah, you kinda do. Tricky, but you’re both adults and he’s not trying to sabotage you. Doesn’t mean you can’t feel inner outrage. Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 30/05/2020 00:58

prettybird your dad meal sounds lovely.

cherries our eldest spent the entire summer term of y7 sleeping in the back garden (long story, and not as a punishment Grin).

ShagMeRiggins · 30/05/2020 00:59

We even used to tell him “it’s time to go to tent now...”

If it was coriander, I have a patio and a shovel.

DH made me rack of lamb, marinated in wine, grainy mustard, salt pepper. Cream sauce with garlic, cayenne, paprika, turmeric, lemon and fenugreek. Oh and broccoli. No patio for him.

SquishyBones · 30/05/2020 06:56

Anyone else sneaking a peak on the scales this morning? I’m very happy with what I’m seeing so far 😱 considering I’ve had a bloody takeaway And alcohol during bootcamp. Just makes me wonder what the scales would be saying if I’d been as strict as everyone else!

I had a lovely dinner last night. Salmon fillet served on a bed of bakes cheesy broccoli ❤️ First time in my life that I’ve actually eaten a whole head of brocolli to myself 😂

SquishyBones · 30/05/2020 06:59

See another thing ... people say low carb is unhealthy but I’m actually eating more veg now than I ever have! I think I’ve eaten cauliflower and broccoli every single day during bootcamp! Before low carbing I’d be lucky to eat it once a week (instead eating chips, rice and pasta!)

BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls · 30/05/2020 07:29

Yep, I'm down 10.6 lbs since pre-egg fast! Almost down to my January weight, when I started the gym (again)

TheClitterati · 30/05/2020 08:33

Yesterday was crazy with work, no time to swim or any exercise, I left kids to fend for themselves and scoffed a large slice of a delicious cake dd made.

Still I hit the water target and did 16:8 no worries

Thank goodness it's the weekend. Back on track today.

Off do do shop now as we want to go for cycle later. Not done a morning shop since lockdown started. Wish me luck.

csa26 · 30/05/2020 08:44

Morning everyone.

Weight loss seems to have completely stalled. Tuesday morning I had lost 2lb, Wednesday 1.6 (from the previous day), Thursday 0.8, yesterday 0.4, today... nothing. I know we’re supposed to be weighing weekly but this has been the pattern when I’ve gone onto ketogenic diets in the past.

I’ve also had almost no energy for the allotment the last few days which is quite frustrating! I have still been going, have just been working very slowly. If I wasn’t trying to do hard physical work I would feel fine though.

I’m pretty sure I’ve been on

BrassicaBabe · 30/05/2020 08:49

I like to daily weigh too csa but maybe step away from the scales a little? No change for a day or two isn't a stall. If I've read your post correctly you've lost 5lb this week which is amazing!!

BrassicaBabe · 30/05/2020 08:55

I want to be super careful this weekend. Pattern recently has been to see loss by Friday/Saturday then 2-4lbs on by Sunday/Monday. Then repeat!!

Think we might bbq tonight. So my fat allocation should come from the meat. I think that means I ought to swerve a mayo based coleslaw. Do folks have a coleslaw recipe they can recommend?

BIWI · 30/05/2020 08:55

NO, NO, NO!

You CANNOT expect to lose weight everyday, and sounds like you've had a really good week so far. A 5lbs loss before a week is up is brilliant! What on earth were you expecting?!

You are only deemed to have stalled when you haven't seen any loss for a period of weeks, not just a day or so.

Did you read the post I made about weighing?

^I’m pretty sure I’ve been on

BIWI · 30/05/2020 08:57

@BrassicaBabe there's a coleslaw recipe on the Bootcamp recipe threads - the vegetarian one. It's not low calorie, but it is low carb.

Why?

OP posts:
csa26 · 30/05/2020 09:06

Oh gosh @BIWI nonono I didn’t mean per week! That would be insane! I meant in total 🤦‍♀️ But from previous experience I was expecting weight loss at the beginning to be much faster than later on - so I’m expecting it to tail off pretty quickly.

12lb off would see me back to pre-baby weight; 16 back to weight in my mid-20s.

BIWI · 30/05/2020 09:10

But 5ls IS a great loss in LESS THAN A WEEK!

You haven't got much to lose so it will come off slowly, so you've had a great start.

Please get some positive perspective on what you've achieved. Many other Bootcampers would be delighted with that.

Ah, such glorious weather, big jug of water with lime and cucumber slices is ready in the fridge.

Will break fast after 16h with creamy coffee
L - Singapore noodles and a Singapore sling
D - carpaccio of beef, salad, creamy dressing

The Singapore noodles will of course be courgette, and the Singapore Sling will be much modified (no cherry brandy, no grenadine, no pineapple juice). We're having a virtual anniversary celebration with our best friends who live in.... Singapore!
