Good evening!

Trying to get ahead of everything, as I know tomorrow will be a real rush with people signing up, etc.

Here's the spreadsheet with many thanks to the ever lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for her sterling efforts

Day is going well so far. Have had multiple cups of mint tea but have stayed out of the kitchen otherwise, and hanging out for someone to make me a nice lunch in a while. We’ve decided to camp out in the garden tonight (dd is actually a young adult, and is shielding here during lockdown, but was quite tickled by the thought of camping). So I have fish kebabs marinating in the fridge for cooking outside this evening, big salad plus crusty bread for the others.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 29/05/2020 12:13

Bit grumpy today. I know it's only 4 days in but I've stuck to 1000 calls every day, and 25-50g carbs. I've exercised 6 out of the last 7 days. I've got my period which usually sees a bit of weight loss once it starts.

But I've not lost any weight!!!!

Will feel very cheated if I get to Monday and haven't even lost the measly 1lb a week I'd been losing up to this week.

And I'm itchy as well.

Humph.

NumbsMet · 29/05/2020 12:22

I woke up feeling very sorry for myself today, feeling queasy and thinking I don't fancy anything at all unless it's bread. I weighed myself though and I've lose 3lbs since Tuesday so I want to push on, not give up.

THEN I remembered that I CAN eat a turkey mince chilli con carne!! Suddenly the whole game is changed. I can add grated cheese AND soured cream!!

I put my recipe for the chilli into MFP and one (generous) serving comes up to 574 calories before the aforementioned toppings.

So now I'm very excited for dinner Grin I don't think I'll be hungry for lunch but may have some milk to tide me over.

Woohoo!!

BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls · 29/05/2020 12:23

Well my fast is still going atm, as I wasn't hungry at 10. Just cooking some bacon though. Steak for tea tonight 👍

TheOriginalMrsMoss · 29/05/2020 12:24

Checking in and saying hello.

I've been trying to eat during a very small window to fast as long as possible. Yesterday I started eating at 2.30 and finished my dinner at 6.30pm. I felt slightly more hungry than previously.

L Mexican Chilli Cheddar, Chilli olives and a mug of Marigold Bouillon with a chopped spring onion and some coriander leaves. Surprisingly tasty.

D Steak hache with homemade coleslaw, sliced gherkins, cucumber and baby leaves. I had a spoon of mustard and chilli sauce. I had an espresso afterwards and it was really enjoyable. My ravenous horde had a burger bun and hash browns with theirs.

I'm 5lbs down and feeling slightly amazed that I've stuck to this for 5 days. I do, however, have a very long way to go.

NumbsMet · 29/05/2020 12:25

@ThinkAboutItTomorrow when I dieted a while back, I quickly learned that I had to disregard my weight when I was on my period and just push on with the diet. It was crazy, I could have literally starved myself for two days and I would have weighed 5lbs more. Then a day or two after my period all that weight would go plus whatever I'd lost during that time. Incidentally I also needed to pee a lot more. I don't think you should lose hope Smile

TheOriginalMrsMoss · 29/05/2020 12:26

Oh, and I took my measurements. Very sobering and total confirmation that I have been kidding myself for far too long.

1Wildheartsease · 29/05/2020 12:27

It might be all about water @ThinkAboutItTomorrow More knowledgeable persons will be here to help but I think two things are important:

-keep drinking lots. I tried not doing so last time and saw a sudden stop in weight loss though was sticking to everything else.

  • weightloss does happen in fits and starts on this way of eating. (I dare not try daily weighing because the mysterious 'ups' are hard to cope with.)
ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 29/05/2020 12:44

Thanks for the support.

I've really worked on water and am on the 2.5 litres a day the spreadsheet says. I wonder if I shouldn't count workout water though as that's often about a litre but maybe it's sweated out straight away (lovely).

I've stuck to a 16-17 hour fast window too, apart from Monday's gin incident.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 29/05/2020 12:48

Maybe it's my period. If so I should see a great result on Monday.

Will persevere.

It's sunny and it's DDs birthday tomorrow so I should be cheerful.

Patapouf · 29/05/2020 12:50

Has anyone tried these?? They look like a nice snack to have on hand on BC ordinaire.

Hi all, well done on being super strict! I've been doing my own regular bootcamp for the last 3 weeks and v pleased to have lost almost one stone 😁. However I've just had 2 days "off" as ds birthday and this morning my scales tell me I've gained half a stone!!! Feeling totally demoralised! Can anyone advise? thanks v much.

devoncreamtea · 29/05/2020 13:03

@ThinkAboutItTomorrow Flowers for your frustration! You can join my club for a bit - I’ve been the same weight for weeks!!!

ShagMeRiggins · 29/05/2020 13:03

Once again I’ve not caught up with the thread yet but—

I also bowled at MrsTerry comparing MFP to ^that* friend. Grin

In fact, so much funny stuff posted I’ve been smiling and snorting and smirking throughout the reading. The dreams are doolally.

Sorry to those who are itching and headaching and struggling.

Good alcohol chat and support. There are a lot of us here who have a... difficult time eliminating it during bootcamp, and it’s one of the reasons I remain—to keep myself in check.

The food was a star not an apology and so on-plan that I still feel happy thinking about it this morning.

That is one beautiful analogy, wildheartsease.

And Lookatottomorrow sorry for the humph I know it absolutely sucks to do everything right and not see the expected outcome. Are you drinking all the WATER! WATER! WATER!??

prettybird · 29/05/2020 13:06

Thinkaboutomorrow - when it's hot, sometimes I find that I need to up my "allocated" water intake to be effective as a support for weight loss.

ShagMeRiggins · 29/05/2020 13:06

Sorry, the last bit was for ThinkAboutItTomorrow. No idea who Lookatottomorrow is. Hmm

ShagMeRiggins · 29/05/2020 13:12

colouringindoors that’s crazy. When was the last time you weighed yourself before today?

NumbsMet · 29/05/2020 13:20

@Patapouf where do you buy those? I need them, right now. Sooner if possible. Plz advise. Thx Grin

Well done on the loss so far!

You will not have gained half a stone of fat, but what you have done is to re-fill your glycogen stores.

Get back on the wagon, have a couple of super strict days, and up your exercise. The glycogen is there to provide you with fuel, so use it up!

I feel your frustration. However, a gentle reminder that you didn't actually start till Tuesday because you were drinking gin on Monday!

And it's almost certainly down to it being your period. Try drinking (even) more water.

How tall are you? It could also be that you haven't got too much to lose.

@NumbsMet from here: www.cheesies.co.uk/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIld7p04jZ6QIVDO7tCh2PFQdDEAAYASAAEgKmm_D_BwE I may have ordered a big multipack Blush but at zero carbs I figure they are hardly an evil snack to have in the house.

I'm just catching up on the thread properly, Flowers for everyone dealing with shitty attitudes and sabotage from family members.

Today:
L- LC sausage, wensleydale stuffed mushrooms and leeks/ spring greens in butter.
D: roast chicken thighs with a big greek salad

colouringindoors · 29/05/2020 13:31

thanks BIWI much appreciated.

So post bootcamp do you guys eat carbs at all? What's the best way to maintain weight loss?

Ifeelfat · 29/05/2020 13:42

Patapouf
Oh. My. God. I don’t quite know what to say. These look wonderful, perfect as you say for a snack in a couple of weeks (with a G&T).
I too have ordered a multi pack.
Thank you SO much!

ShagMeRiggins · 29/05/2020 13:51

You can make the popped cheese yourself. Someone did it last bootcamp I think and reported back how the various types of cheese responded (cheddar came out a winner).

The key appeared to be learning the cheese pieces thoroughly dry before popping. Google it and have a go!
