Good evening!

Trying to get ahead of everything, as I know tomorrow will be a real rush with people signing up, etc.

Here's the spreadsheet with many thanks to the ever lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for her sterling efforts

Glad @Mummyoflittledragon you enjoyed the shepherd's pie!

@Hopeislost

Somewhere on the Bootcamp recipe threads (the vegetarian one, I think) there's a recipe for low carb coleslaw. It won't be especially low calorie as it uses oil and mayo, but it's very tasty.

Hi everyone, it's my first time on bootcamp & I'm already learning so much! (I'm going to go through this thread again and write down all the tips/recipe ideas).

I did some basic LCHF/IF a long time ago but I don't know if it triggered my alopecia (it could've been coincidence). So this time I've got lots of supplements and hoping it all works out.

Does anyone use the Carb Manager app? I really like it so far, but I'm confused over the carbs/net carbs thing - Carb Manager says I have 20g of net carbs a day - how does that relate to the 60g for bootcamp? I realise I might have input something wrong when I set up the app!

Thanks to BIWI and AthelstaneTheUnready.

Hello all. Can I join? I started doing boot camp normal on Friday as I didn’t think there would be thread running. I just came along to find a recipe and saw you all here! Hurrah!

Since lockdown I’ve put on 8lbs. I’ve reverted to eating 6 cheese sandwiches a day plus a pasta/rice dinner because it’s quick and easy and I‘Ve had covid for the last 5 weeks so haven’t had/got much Energy to cook or time now with everyone home.

BIWI · 26/05/2020 17:32

Carb Manager sounds like a different plan then!

... also, if they're talking about net carbs, it's an American site. They include fibre in their carb counts.

Having had a quick look at the website it's also promoting Keto eating, which is very much lower in carbs, hence giving you the 20g carb limit.

@Hopeislost I make mine without the carrot and sweetcorn I would usually put in it.

Otherwise it is whatever I have to hand: red & green cabbage, shallot, spring onion, radish, fennel, kale, mange tout, parsley, corriander, rocket, green pepper etc

Dress with lemon juice, olive oil, pepper sauce and a bit (lot) of Hellmans mayo.

I can have leftovers for lunch tomorrow with greated cheese.

MrsKoala · 26/05/2020 17:46

With the intermittent fasting, should we do that everyday? I have done 16:8 twice since Friday anyway as it’s something I did before on boot camp.

Also, can we eat tofu?

I don’t think I’ll be able to do 1000 calories every day. My body uses a lot of calories, especially if exercising. I have never been able to go under 1600 per day. And I don’t think I have the time to work out calorie counts.

felippertyfeck · 26/05/2020 17:47

Please can I join? I’m so pleased that you are running this thank you. I’m right back to where I was at the beginning of last year. I can’t believe how much I have put on over lockdown, I’ve just eaten my way through the days :(

ExShield · 26/05/2020 17:48

Hello! Thanks for adding me! I’ve done boot camp before under a different name so I’m not a total virgin.
Day 1 for me here, downloaded an app for glasses of water and thenMFP app too. And charged my I watch. Off to Lidl later for a shop.

Lunch was a bag of “bistro” salad with a burger on it. I tried really hard to drink black coffee but it was absolutely horrid so have caved in to 20ml of milk which I’ve noted on my MFP.

MrsFionaCharming · 26/05/2020 17:54

I made chia pudding last night, and had it for brunch today. I wasn’t sure what to expect, I assumed it would be one of those gross health foods that bloggers pretend to enjoy. It was actually really nice! I made it with coconut milk and a little bit of almond extract. I’m going to do some research into the lowest carb nut milk, and some experimentation with different flavours.

I think this will become a staple when I’m back at work and need quick breakfasts.

herecomesthsun · 26/05/2020 18:02

I'm not doing an 8 hour window but could probably manage a 10 hour window.

I had a brunch of bacon and mushrooms at 10.30 and then some fried aubergine slices and garlic raita at 1pm. This is from this recipe www.thetimes.co.uk/article/the-darjeeling-expresss-asma-khan-gives-marina-oloughlin-an-online-masterclass-tdsq9zdt0. I couldn't manage all the aubergine so have put half unfried in the fridge and will probably have some tomorrow (hope it keeps). In fact I just looked at it, and lots of the moisture is coming out, but it's not too brown, so I'm hopeful

My husband is planning to do some savoury mince tonight, and I'll have cauliflower with mine.

herecomesthsun · 26/05/2020 18:03

The lowest carb nut milk is almost certainly going to be unsweetened almond, by the way.

BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls · 26/05/2020 18:09

Just had tea - pork loin steak with fried FLGV (liking that term! 😂)

Was very good and made mayo before that, so I have something to dress my food with, that isn't the oil out of the sun dried tomato jar!!

So that's me finished eating for 6pm, ready to fast til 10. Will just have a cup of mint tea in a bit to hopefully settle my faffy stomach for the night

BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls · 26/05/2020 18:10

Ooh and DP tried on her wedding dress earlier and it does half way up now :)

Whether weddings are going ahead will then be the only potential hiccup... (end of July)

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/05/2020 18:16

Hello, MrsK and feliperty!

Not so perfect day today - no exercise Blush.

Which is probably why my calories have come in at 740, meaning MFP gave me a right wigging about starving in a ditch with unpleasant side effects.

However, I've not been hungry and I've not moved much, so stuff 'em.

Fat 65%, protein 28%, carbs 7% (just 4g!). Made up of creamy coffees, romaine and mayonnaise salad, sirloin steak, and large bowl of buttered broccoli.

All the water drunk already, and will probs have more.

MrsKoala · 26/05/2020 18:23

Hi Athelstane. Is it too late to add my name to your magical spreadsheet?

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 26/05/2020 18:37

Low carb ice lollies here I come! I’m thinking some yoghurt and/or cream with some vanilla powder (and a few berries when we’re allowed berries!) or maybe some iced tea flavoured ones with some mint and lemon slices.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 26/05/2020 18:39

OMG iced coffee lollies!!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/05/2020 18:45

Not at all, MrsK - you're on it. It's not mine btw, I just stop you deleting each other Wink

AthelstaneTheUnready · 26/05/2020 18:46

definitely OMG. Would creamy coffee lollies work, or would the cream go funny?

SquishyBones · 26/05/2020 18:54

1077 calories
33g carbs

Is this ok?

FizzyPink · 26/05/2020 18:56

Oh I’m so glad I’m not the only one with the weird dreams. Last time I did boot camp I kept dreaming of eating salt and vinegar crisp sandwiches Blush

SquishyBones · 26/05/2020 19:01

Only 8g fibre today ... I know you’ve told me not to look at it but ... 😬

Freetodowhatiwant · 26/05/2020 19:04

Pressed complete on MFP at 7pm. First day for me. 1077 calories and 39.5g of carbs. This would be gross carbs would it? Do I need to try to work out net carbs...? Or will this do
